    Heinz is the best, good Bread butter'd be for the beans go on top, Adding a knob of Butter to the beans adds a silky smoothness along with a pinch of decent Sea Salt as they warm on the stove, additionally you could add a few slices of nice Streaky English Bacon on the side, Its usually used as a quick and easy meal just to get you by and also a great money saver.

      @@OurCrazyLifeInif you like worcestershire sauce you can also stir a little bit of that into the beans, it's a really simple way to elevate the beans and give it a good tangy kick as well as more umami flavour. Honestly beans on toast is great but there's a tonne of ways you can augment it beyond the basics too 👌

    My friend, find baked beans that you like. It sounds silly, but it makes a huge difference. Start with Heinz, try Branston, then go through the various own-brands and supermarket varieties. Get a decent bread. I'd recommend something seedy and toast it just over what you'd normally want, once you add butter and beans, it will fall apart. Black pepper, a little cheese, delicious, fast, cheap and not badly nutritious :)

    • @OurCrazyLifeIn

    The thing is. Good british food is just locked up for the poor people which is expensive and hard to create without proper tools. For example wellington is hard to make because of the need for more tools to make it. Its not cultural unless its for everyone. Not expensive stuff for rich people.

  • @cavalcade117

    I’d say the USA and the UK are both victims of selection bias when it comes to food. Both are often ( at least online) insulted for the foods they eat. In the case of the UK, people tend to pick on foods like mushy peas or beans on toast, and for the USA it’s things like hamburgers or other fast food. The irony is that in the case of the UK and the USA, none of the dishes people pick on were ever meant to be “high class” examples of cuisine. They were common items people could afford that stuck around for one reason or another and became culturally relevant. People picking on food from the UK won’t bring up dishes like Beef Wellington which is both world renowned and difficult to make, just like they won’t give American Barbecue more than a cursory glance.

    All you have to do is see what everyday UK citizens post online about the food they eat, it’s bad. The average American doesn’t eat shrimp jello, so I’d say that’s a bad example.

    • @OurCrazyLifeIn
      @OurCrazyLifeIn 4 місяці тому

      You can’t judge an entire culture based on beans on toast, there is way more to British food than the 2 examples anyone ever gives or what circulates online. Have you actually been to the UK and tried their food firsthand? Or are you just looking at photos online? I’ve been in the UK for nearly a year and there are so many delicious foods. Is everything great? No of course not, but America has its fair share of foods that are repulsive to the rest of the world too, yet most people don’t focus on the worst examples popular with the locals.

    I just want to say upfront that Curry does not belong to just Indian food. It is very bigoted to think so. Save me the history lesson on where Curry orignated because we all know. Many countries besides India Curry is a staple dish. There is no one way of eating curry either. The Culture Apropriation believers should consider that what they are doing is in face feeding into bigotry. Culture in humans is meant to be shared and as we share culture we become wiser and advance quicker. While we all love traditions, traditions are history lessons but should never be blockades to progress. What you do when you say don't appropriate my culture is actually isolation. You can enjoy the benefits and wisdom of your culture but not others. That is in fact supremacy. Read the Nature of Prejudice and you'll see the first steps to bigotry is in fact negative bias which leads to groups isolating themselves from others. In that isolation that group results to violence over reason eventually. This is because that group uses it's negative bias to justify the fact it's greedy for power struggles. While the british were a fine example of this in history, lets remember that in that history we should not follow in the footsteps of the past but learn from those who have already walked that trouble path. Let people enjoy your culture, let them blend in with it, it breaks down the walls of prejudice when we share. We surely should share with love.

    Beans on Toast.... And, claiming the international food as 'british', is literal cultural appropriation. Curry is Indian food, not British, the brits can't claim it.

    • @OurCrazyLifeIn
      @OurCrazyLifeIn 4 місяці тому

      I never claimed Indian food is British food. However the U.K. population is diverse which makes the food landscape diverse. Also, literally every culture appropriates food. You can practically take any cultures food and trace it back to another culture throughout history.

    • @shambray24
      @shambray24 4 місяці тому

      Excuse me but more than Indians eat Curry. Curry is a dish in majority countries of Africa, the Carribean islands, and Asia. While Curry comes in a variety of dishes and a variety of ways it is not just and indian staple food. Also cultures are meant to be appropriated. Tacos are just as American as they are Mexican. Italian spaghetti has been made all over the world twisting it a bit to adjust to local tastes. Much like fried chicken has become a world wide staple food and not just a southern American Food. Culture is meant to share, and if we don't do that we feed into the bigotry and prejudice of the past. The first two steps to prejucide is negative bias and than isolation. We should make sure we don't become who we hate in the process of helping the world cure it's racism.
