Yup, it's always frustrating to see people defacing the property which ruins it for others.

The Kancamagus Highway is free to drive but there is a $5 day pass for parking. So if you plan on making these stops along the drive including the Rocky River Gorge, you will have to have the $5 day pass.

@@adventuringinthemoment oh I see. Free to drive, day pass for parking. If you could still remember, do the Glen Ellis Falls and Cathedral Ledge also operate on the same system, or you had to pay separately as well? Thanks!

@@st-lucia Yes, so Glen Ellis Falls never required any type of parking pass when we have gone, but Cathedral Ledge had a small fee as well. I did that a different time then the Kancamagus Highway so I am not sure if this is just a day pass for all of the parking areas in the White Mountains National Forest or not. I do know that you can pay for Cathedral Ledge when you go to Echo Lake State Park which is at the foot of Cathedral Ledge and the state park system would be different then the national forest. So long story short it will be a minimal fee if anything to go to all of those places, and are all pretty easily assessable in one day too. I hope that clears things up for you.

You know I am not really sure about the mileage to the waterfall. AllTrails isn't super specific about where the waterfall is but we didn't continue the trail beyond the waterfall. If I were to guess I would say maybe a little over a mile to get to the waterfall and then about a little over a mile back so round trip tops maybe 2 and a half miles.

That is awesome have fun in the cave it is truly an amazing experience. You can get tickets from their national park page that is what we did. I would also suggest going on the Frozen Niagara and Drip Stone Tour. I haven't been to Luray Caves yet but it is on my list to do someday.

Yes we loved this hike, it was really fun getting down to the base of the falls.

Yeah we really liked the bridge and it was a fun little stop on our way through.

It will depend on the dog for sure. A few things I noticed was a few narrow sections where I had to wait for people to pass so my dog didn't lick them (Which he will do if left to his own devices). Other then that it is a real short and quick hike so I would say most dogs would love it.

We did this back in late September. I have seen videos of it with snow though, so have fun it is an amazing place to visit.

It was an impressive and amazing waterfall. I also really liked the park itself but of course the big ticket item is Taughannock Falls.

Oh that is so great to hear! This waterfall actually has meant a lot to me because it was something I had passed by more times then I can count. When I slowed down and looked we had found it and was a really good learning opportunity for me to know what happens when you pay attention to the hidden wonders right in your own backyard. Shady Valley is in North Eastern Tennessee near Bristol.

I missed some of the things the ranger said after the coffin because we were in the back so I am assuming they must say that further down. Thank you for the info it was certainty an incredible cave.

I completely agree that road could have been way worse if it had just rained. Sometimes you just have to live and learn to figure these things out...

Hello, I would say the best time in January and February can be real tough to tell but it depends mostly on what you want to see. It will all be dependent on weather but if you are looking for those big sweeping views go on a warm clear day. If you are looking to experience the snow like in the video I would keep an eye out for the weather in the town of Roan Mountain. The day we saw the snow like this the ground was almost completely clear of snow at the base of the mountain. So it can be tricky but I have been up the mountain several times and not once was it disappointing. So just check the weather, known that it will be cold up there, and enjoy the adventure!

We have actually been working on equalizing our videos for that very reason so our newer videos tend to have much more background music. The good news is you can still see my beautiful face even with the sound off.

It WAS a little repetitive. That's the challenge you run into sometimes trying to find something to go over your images (or if you even should put something over them)

Me too! I never really knew where it was as a kid and we never explored the White Mountains. So by the time we discovered the location he had already fallen off, it was a shame.

Yes we had wondered that because there was no one else around other then one worker for the entirety of the hike. We were fortunate enough to not see one though.

Me and a buddy walked it back in June and there were workers that said to keep an eye out for them.. we have an abundance of them in East Tennessee and N Carolina
