Phantom - Lost // Interactive VR Music Video (360 stereo 8k)
Переглядів 27 тис.7 років тому
LOST is an interactive music experience made for virtual reality. Be surrounded by the music, watch the visuals it creates - and interact with them. Mixing volumetric captured video of the band with sound reactive, generative and interactive visual effects, LOST lets you experience Phantom’s music and performance in 3D VR space as the song comes to life around them and you. Become the conductor...
This is one of the most spectacular works of demo art I have ever seen! Realtime in such a demoscene style and with so many bloody cool effects and sync, and what a STUNNING soundtrack! Love it so, so much! Infinite Likes!!
Where are we with VR and AR?
Tune is amazing. Even after 6 years, still my favorite demo of all time.
I've missed this one! well deserved 1st prize! Nice programming and algorithm ideas here! also it's stylinsh at max!!! the music fits perfectly! congrats! #demosceneNeverDies
When code is art and poesy
Love the auto citation at 3:25
The final demoscene demo. 30 years of evolution ends like this.
This is stunning. The only downside is once the vocal started I wanted way more of that music, the song felt truncated and it's so beautiful. The graphics are incredible too.
Beautiful!! 🙏🙏😍😍
Does that count as a Megademo again? For me - yes. The only downside I see over 2nd reality (or much of the conspiracy stuff, which is not as all-out as this) is it's less Immersion, like looking through a pane of glass. Which it is, I suppose.
omg
Still awesome 5 years down the road.. respects..
38k views? Did the demoscene do a full 180 and is now underground again?
Same as it always was. Besides, "Our intro runs better in realtime than on youtube."ーRazor1911 from Insert No Coins, 2010: www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=55991 I'd rather not contemplate all the bandwidth wasted on recordings of demos on youtube, that could have been spared by simply downloading the demos and running them realtime. UA-cam is *very* anti-scene.
The underwater effect is so damn good that I was 100% convinced it was all 3D meshes and voxels, maybe using a secret super-powered build that even now Smash was keeping up his sleeve and perhaps the upcoming reworked fields system would be when he finally revealed the secrets. Combining the huge amount of image/video post-fx functionality with the 3D that I was so focused on had made me completely miss what was even pretty much shown directly at one point in the demo. I'd just kind of assumed all that was for colour grading, warping and other mundane things you might do to polish a scene towards the end and had no concept of just how powerful it could actually be. Using the luminance of a 2D video to create depth that you'd swear had been recorded by the camera being the most recent to totally melt my brain. I'm sure one day the haphazard, borderline inept connecting of parameters and function nodes will produce a mind-blowing effect of my own but sadly so far I just end up confirming that I do not want to save the changes before I start a new project. It's surely only a matter of time though, then it'll just be a matter of knocking up some music....
Amazing post dude! I was just wondering myself how it was done. You will also come up with something awesome eventually. Just be sure to let me know then :)
Demoscene makes the best music.
check it !
word
Could the everyday-more-regretted Brothomstates hide behind this music?

Lyrics: We're far away It's quite okay Like night and day of endless grey Of what we used to be Carefully... Our undone sheets speak softly Of how I used to see these unspoken dreams Faded to... Ooh... modesty We're haunted by our living child All the life of our loveless histories They seek and speak when we're weak And light our mind from our own kind We love to kneel and we need to lead The tears they set us free We fight without a sight of enemies This spoken word carries our vanity in its heart Like a mother we steal from that keep in the dark As we seek the happy... hungry, thirsty, horny So much fear unconscious tears Years lost to ignorance Life sought in to destinations Who really cares of anything here When crying is weak and fighting is strong I fall in love... with a tear of an old man Calling out... Call... Calling out... Call.... Calling out... Call... For Ten thousand years puberty of the human mind No collected consciousness better cool than kind The need to have to got to Endless made of emptiness I fill the void and feed my mind with your unanswered questions I set a seed not only words Ears that have listened just as heard A mind that has been run all o'er the universe of it That is all... that is all... In everything we own Every... all... it will be... ours Calling out... Call... Calling out... Call....
Every few seconds a new visual language, once a day there will be dissertations about that outstanding piece of art.
Dat bass!
This is, literally maybe, everything 💜
Congrats!
Amazing
wjat gfx card do you have?
weird, the video makes this feel like an advert for a CG house.

Anyone else catch the death star? Awesome to see!
compression!
serene,. fantastic.
How do you come up with this stuff...pure art.
Commodore-Amiga is back
Amiga never died, Commodore on the other hand...
W O W
What's your system? This demo runs like ASS on my I7 & RX 580 :(
so good but, I was wondering how much real code has been involved in this production? this demo looks like been made in 'demo app' in 4 days
he used a software called notch, i believe he either made it or was coded some part of it. and the thing is that this for me is impressing on just the monitor but pair this video with i think 3x 4k projector plus concert grade audio setup. Aka ASM 2019, like it just blew my mind away at how good and far software or even code can go.
Massive. Really massive.
Commodore?
Art of noise meets the scene. Brilliant release.!
Execute the demo on your own mashine. You miss half of the beauty, due to the video compression.! This is true and undouptable, digital art. ( www.pouet.net )
love this demo more and more and more
Dope
thanks for this!!!!!!!!! love it sooooo much!!!!!
IMBA, in my humble opinion.!
a complete mindblower then and now
YA PRACTICALLY BEST EVER PC/AMIGA DEMO I EVER SEEN! WELL TBL THE BLACK LOTUS (NIGHTSHADE)... THANKS PEEKMOCK / CAPELLA!!! PLEASE DON'T ASTEROID US!!!
Something very strange about a demo called HAM that has no colors at all.
Also no ham
Amen Break YIHAAAA
it deserves first
Has to be watched a few times to appreciate the phenomenal coding, music and all round presentation in this masterpiece.
Agreed on music and presentation, but doesn’t notch do the coding for you?
@@jasperd.5734 Yeah, but the people who made this demo are the coders behind Notch.
do you know if theres some archives somewhere on the internet, where i can see or download intros/demos :D i always knew this subculture existed.. but didnt pay that much attention after childhood to it.. but always looked cool.. probably one of the reasons i still pirate games, to see demos/intros in cracked installers ; ))) watched this hungarian doc about demoscene in Iron Curtain... really cool shit.. got interested into looking more into this stuff... ua-cam.com/video/YUqn1OPxtmE/v-deo.html Possibly one of the most interesting documentaries ive watched in years.... and a bit surprised as well... hungarians are also finno-ugric tribes like estonians.. why didnt we have c64 here in estonia, and no scene etc.. but became better IT country than hungary.. these guys were clearly next level , .. or maybe software was just so simplistic back in the day, kids are quick learners too haha.. ; ) )
Fucking bonkers! This is amazing!
