K2 is the second-highest mountain in the world and for most mountaineers, the first prize in terms of mountaineering achievement, considering the technical challenge of the route added to the extreme high altit...

Germany's HIGHEST PEAK - Zugspitze (2,962m) via Ferrata
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
This is the good, the bad, and the scary about climbing alone the Zugspitze via Hollental. The Zugspitze, at 2,962 m above sea level, is located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and is the highest mountain in Germany. To get up to its summit safely you will need to use a via ferrata set and potentially crampons to cross the glacier. The Hollental route is very well marked and maintained, and the climb...

Forget about those soggy sandwiches you usually have when hiking! In the Palatinate Forest you can find several Gaststätten, which have a very casual outdoor environment and simple but delicious food. My GO-TO PLACE for HIKING in GERMANY

This place is probably one of the most amazing things about the German Palatinate. The Palatinate Forest has a total area of over 1,700 sq. Km, and it's packed with beautiful trails for hiking, mountain biking, trail running or just hanging out drinking some wine. We did a short but quite nice trail that leads to the Bismarck Tower, which gives you a 360 degrees view of the region. It is one of...

Nice, thanks for your video! With its huge amount of trails, the black forest is indeed a little hikers’ paradise. If you are looking for some more inspiration, you may check out some of the following trails: Day trips: 1) Belchensteig (Hiking from Wiedener Eck to Belchen) | 15 km ua-cam.com/video/lkE1P2mo488/v-deo.html 2) Jägersteig (Hiking from Schluchsee to Bildstein) | 12 km ua-cam.com/video/0aHebq3GR9E/v-deo.html 3) Feldbergsteig (Hiking from Bismarckdenkmal to Feldsee) | 12 km ua-cam.com/video/xYtMBCWWMcg/v-deo.html Long-distance hiking trails: If you are looking for a bigger challenge, you may also check out the so called “Albsteig” which is recommended to be done in 3 to 5 days. 4) Albsteig Stage 1/3 (Hiking from Albbruck to Görwihl ) | 12 km ua-cam.com/video/9UK6goFTbLI/v-deo.html 5) Albsteig Stage 2/3 (Hiking from Görwihl to Häusern) | 27 km ua-cam.com/video/ImR2nS0SaYE/v-deo.html 6) Albsteig Stage 3/3 (Hiking from Häusern to Feldberg) | 24 km ua-cam.com/video/1wc4qossm-A/v-deo.html Of course, there are way more trails to discover, but these are some of my favorites. Hey there, glad you liked it! I think it’s unlikely to find any relevant snow there in August, but you never know… the glacier will be there of course, so keep that in mind for equipment purposes. As far as I know there are no places to hire any sort of equipment on the trailhead or anywhere throughout the path. In the city you can find equipment stores that sell and maybe rent it. Have fun there and keep safe!
