What's weird is that there's a large population of black people who refuse to be as articulate, educated and brilliant like Baldwin. At school you get made fun of for tryin to be 'white' and caring about science, language, politics etc.

"I Am Not Your Negro" brought me here. I had to hear more of the speech that prophesied Barack Obama becoming President 40 years after Bobby Kennedy ran for President. Kennedy told the truth about America even though Baldwin had a hard time accepting it at the time.

What is dangerous here is Baldwin assuming the context of what Robert Kennedy meant by that. He certainly didn't say what Baldwin implied. It's easily perceivable that he said that with the backdrop of the history behind his statement. The housing projects weren't the ghetto when those buildings were built. A ghetto is created within, either by internal actions or outside influence. But to say they built projects in a ghetto doesn't make logical sense. Otherwise, I do like Baldwin's perspective.
