New York felt best they just clean house, because there’s really no benefit in letting Tony live, go through the trial, with the odds of him flipping VERY high, since he has nothing to lose, and everything to gain by doing so. Two birds with one stone, Tony & Phil, have Paulie run what’s left of the crew.. or take him out too, and replace the entire crew with a new head of the New Jersey faction.

copland is good, if you are a fan of Goodfellas and Liotta in particular, you will like it! I generally love Scorcese's movies, but those before Raging Bull are not so good, I could not get into Mean Streets though.....I feel like I gotta give it a try again. Anyone else feel this way? I think you got the whole Bronx tale thing exactly right. The characters in Good Fellas are absolutely horrible and we should strive to NOT be them, and not give into their influence. And for all father out there, you gotta be active in your kids life; punishment is needed but so is guidance and love.

I know it's pretty much agreed upon that Tony gets shot and dies in the diner, but Im reminded of a specific exchange between Meadow and A.J. where Meadow says that white represents death, while A.J. maintains that black and only black represents death. Now, if there's one thing I know about A.J., it's that he's not the smartest guy in town and is often wrong. So when the camera cuts to black when Tony supposedly dies, I don't necessarily take it as him being shot. After all, it didn't cut to white.

7:35 This point is made even stronger when we consider the real-life Hill's efforts (after the film was released) to promote himself. He wasn't a reliable narrator then either. He's basically a pathological liar that blamed everyone else and ignored/minimised his own mistakes. Some of these interviews were actually pretty sad and showed a guy that was basically a living ghost. I get the feeling that the only reason he wasn't "whacked" was due to this. The mafia knew he wasn't a risk anymore, he had no knowledge that wasn't out there, and eeked out an existence by giving interviews where he repeated the same stories like a drunk at a bar.

In all seriousness, the Sopranos has been the Ultimate TV show , perfect in every way, leagues better than 99% of Mobster movies ever made. Everything about it, the setting, the writing, the actor/character Interpretations, the dialogue ,the accents and mannerism , the cinematography, all of it, there will never be another groundbreaking, successful and amazingly well executed show like the Sopranos. Let's not forget that James Gandolfini didn't grow up around the mob life,he was a theatre kid, regardless, not only did he step into the role, you simply cannot picture Tony Sopranos being portrayed by anybody other than Galfofini! James Gandolfini, Nancy Marchand, Robert Loggia,Rick Aiello, Frank Albanese, Dennis Borino Quinn,Tom Aldredge, Rae Allen, Greg Antonacci, John Aprea, Lauren Bacall,John Heard,Joseph Siravo,John Costelloe,John Ciarcia,David Margulies, John Heard and others I've missed have passed away since, so even if you wanted to somehow recreate it and bring characters back in, YOU CAN'T,their magic is gone with them, many of the characters were older,this, amongst many other valid reasons, is why this show is a masterpiece that you cannot recreate, and good luck trying to surpass this masterpiece. RIP to all the legends that made the show what it is, and many of us got the pleasure of watching it every week, waiting for a new episode to come out!
