Our little ones are capable of so much… Auntie teaching them to be quiet when they need to be is so valuable. It makes them feel like they are accomplished and proud of themselves. And it gives me the confidence to take them with me anywhere. Thanks for this! I've held on to a lot of my "pre-baby" clothes because they weren't cheap, and I had unrealistic expectations of what i should expect (and love) about my body after 2 C-sections.
You are not alone… It’s so good to let go of clothes that are weighing us down and unrealistic expectations!! I have been in your shoes and many times. Hugs 🤗
I needed this little push! And that it’s okay to get rid of things we’ve spent money on! ❤
Oh good I’m so glad it is encouraging to you… And yes, it is totally OK 🤍🤍🤍
17:26 Can you give us viewers the link to the jacket please?
Absolutely! Here it is and I will post in description too. amzn.to/4cIWcwe
This was so encouraging to watch as I spent an evening decluttering a closet in my homeschool room <3 Thank you for sharing. Your videos are so calming 💖
You are so welcome! I’m going to be joining you in the decluttering of homeschool material - on my list for next week. ♥️
Selfishness
Okay
You misspelled selflessness. There’s nothing selfish about being a mom. In fact it’s the complete opposite ❤
I couldn’t agree more 🤍🤍🤍
How do I purchase just memory work from CC? What do I need?
I’m going to do a video on this this week - stay tuned. A lot of people have asked this question.
I love the dress!!🥰🥰😘😘
Me too!! It’s such a good one!!!
Nice, but couldn’t hear your comments
I realize that as well - I’m not sure exactly what happened.
@@havenhillhomestead156 you always look beautiful
LOVE the main message here. What a breath of fresh air. Yt is full of “if you don’t homeschool, you hate your kids” and similar ideas. So tired of it. Thank you for making this video!
Absolutely - thank you for sharing this!
That is so cute!😘
Thanks so much Nora!!! 😘
But what about that pink cover!!
🤍It’s Free People from a few years ago - I LOVE it but they don’t have it anymore - I linked on my liked to know a few other options, including ones on Amazon.
Looking fabulous
So kind!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
What kind of bible do you read out of?
I read out of the ESV version
Love this video, but struggled at times to hear you over the music
Okay thank you!!
Would love a morning binder flip through!! I need some ideas!
Great idea!!
At what age is appropriate to start classical conversations? My son is 5
You can start him at age 5, but in my opinion as a mom of eight - I think it is completely unnecessary. Save your money and wait to start them until six or seven. Or even older… Let them explore and read lots of really good books to them and teach them that learning can be fun in the early stages
Please do another video like this but for little kids ages 3-7 ish ! ❤
Sure will
Curious what state you are in? We live in Maine and I have been trying to find more channels about gardening in Maine
Whoops! Haha, RIGHT after I posted this you said IL 😂
We are central Illinois - garden zone 5B
I saw that basket there multiple times and kept thinking - Meg would buy this! So I kept leaving it hahaha
😂😂😂 yes!!! I finally did - so fun
Wow! You've all been very busy, nice ! 💚👍
Yes we are but we just love it!!! Bringing beauty to a place that needs so much restoration is life giving for us.
Outstanding video! Thank you ❤
You are so welcome! 🤗
Sooo beautiful! Your home is a sanctuary!
Thank you so much! So much work to do, but yet finding beauty along the way is everything!!!🫶🏼
Hi Meg - Thank you for the encouraging video! I’m gardening near Springfield, IL. Learning a lot!
Wonderful! Don’t give up… You got this! Just enjoy the process and celebrate all your little victories
I have a huge flower garden like the first one you showed. There’s a blackberry in the back that I thought I dug up and transplanted before it gets as big as yours. But alas, it’s back! Your rooster is beautiful!!
Oh wow! Love hearing this - and thank you - he’s a great rooster!!
@@havenhillhomestead156 I just had to rehome my rooster because he had a death wish against us! He used to be my daughter’s is the only reason I put up with him for about a year.
Loved the Beverly Cleary, Ramona, the past books when I was a kid oh my gosh love love love love
Same!!!!!!
I homeschooled my daughter with all the classics. Barnes & Noble’s has all the classics with such gorgeous binding really inexpensive too. I was so surprised to get a lot of the classics near the bargain bookshelves. They usually are at the ends everything from Scott Fitzgerald, too you name it. Everything from Charlotte‘s Web to Little Women. My daughter is since grown on her own in Los Angeles but all our books are a comfort. I just love to grab a good book. Sit down with a cup of coffee and a biscotti or tea. It’s just a wealth of goodness.
Oh I love hearing this sooo much!!! Thank you 🤍
I have to tell you Meg I am on Zillow looking at homesteads based on the drive you had on the way to the Amish store in the previous video ,, I cannot get over the historic homes and the beauty of Rural Illinois, . I have bookmarked so many favorites ,, Your vlogs opened Me up to future ideas . We are in a home we purchased three years ago, not realizing at the time we really wanted to garden and have livestock but this HOA it’s impossible. We are in rural New Jersey in the mountains although it’s beautiful we can’t say we are exactly happy out here not being able to have a small farm with livestock which was really important after 2020.Anyway i’m looking on Zillow not for a big commercial farming Homestead, but just something to adequately provide for our family . Some livestock chickens, goats sheep, even a dairy cow or two and just learn how to do this your videos inspire me greatly I watch for the serenity and the beauty of your videos Meg today’s an awesome rainy day to cook the inside with my puppies and turn your videos on.
This made my day reading all of this is it!!’ Enjoy looking - it’s such a beautiful, and peaceful area
Those outfits are gorgeous. I especially love that green with your blonde hair and complexion . It is just is the best color for you.!!
Thank you so much 🤗
Your homestead is just Beautiful!!
Thank you so much!
Glad you had a Happy Mother’s Day !!🪅💕💐🎀🌺🥰🌼🕊️🌟🙌🎈🥳🎁🪷🌾🎊🎉🎂🩷
Same to you
Enjoy listening to this video. I have homeschooled for 17 years. My youngest is going to public school in the fall like her two other siblings. I am sad to be ending my homeschool career but happy that God gave me this wonderful opportunity. Love the thought of using the books you have.
What an accomplishment- well done!!! 🤍🤍
I have loved watching your videos! You are such a light ❤ thank you for sharing your endless knowledge of curriculum on this one!
This is very encouraging to me… Thank you for being here!! 🤍🪴
I’m new to your channel & can’t wait to try this recipe. 🍓
Hope you enjoy and welcome!! So happy you are here
Hello! This looks so delicious! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Absolutely!!! I hope you enjoy it 🤍🍓
We love ours. It's using the Fels soap and baking soda, with Oxiclean.
That’s great!!!
There's undying love in a mother sheep, how can we do less for our young?
Exactly this!!’ 🫶🏼
Hi. I looked in the description box and found the supplies needed to make the soap but not the recipe. Could you point it out ?
Oh goodness!! Yes I just added it - totally forget that part. 🫣
What a tremendous blessing !You have a beautiful family and you are so beautiful yourself Your homestead is gorgeous!
You are so kind - thank you 🙏🏻
I found your UA-cam channel looking at Amish bulk stores and your video popped up. I am so glad.!! You have a new subscriber. I just love your channel.
Thanks for subbing! I am so so happy you are here or welcome!🫶🏼🫶🏼
I just found your channel and I can’t stop watching your videos. God bless you.!!!
Well, you just made my day!! 🫶🏼
Thank you so much for this video!!! I would love to listen to more of your wisdom. Would it be possible for you to make more homeschool related videos please? 🙂
Absolutely!! I have more scheduled to come… So keep watching and staying tuned. 🫶🏼
How was their transition from homeschool to public school? Especially with going in as late as he did. I only ask because my cousin was homeschooled (also considering homeschooling my son) and went in 6th grade but it was a hard transition for him since he got picked on a lot when he went to public.
For some of my kids, it was a challenge and others it wasn’t… But you know we’ve actually experienced that in homeschool communities as well. I wish it never happened anywhere but sadly it does. That’s why we focused so much on our relationship with our kids so they know to always come to us with anything. And also preparing them for the reality of the world I think is really important… At the right time and age appropriate
The good and the Beautiful offers free courses for Math and LA if you didn’t know.
I actually did know that… That is such a huge blessing
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. This was very encouraging and reassuring that I’m focusing on the right stuff. We place a high value on the relationship we have with our children, so this was so good to hear.
Absolutely… i’m so glad it was reassuring to you… Keep on🫶🏼
I am looking for the book series you raved about, Winter is Coming by Tony Johnston and only found one other book called Trees. Any chance you can list out the books so I can look for them individually? I loved this video. I am grateful for the reminder to follow your own mother’s intuition. the voices of this world get pretty loud at times. Thank you!
www.amazon.com/shop/megwhite_havenhill/list/140U1N45KBHMC?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_m
Sure thing - I can definitely definitely work on that… In the meantime, I tagged all of them here as well. Winter is Coming is towards the bottom so you will have to scroll and see it as well as the other ones I mentioned.
And you are very welcome about the reminder of mothers intuition… It might be the most powerful thing for your homeschool!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Would you say from your experience that even if the children go into a school environment is best when they already build a better understanding of right and wrong and would be harder to be negatively influenced, let’s say when they are 6, 7th grade, or that would be the age when the transition would be even harder? And just curious because ur son mentioned one of the main challenges of homeschooling was social life, didn’t after school activities made it up for it?
I definitely think it’s beneficial to have a strong foundation… But more importantly, I think it’s good to know your child and what they need and where you feel like God is leading - according to my belief. Having a relationship in which you can communicate with your kids is of upmost importance no matter where you’re at. I don’t want my kids to be afraid to come to talk to me… Instead, I want them to feel like if something crazy happens. I’m the first person they want to come to. So we work very hard towards that. And yes… The extracurricular things that we did were helpful to him socially when he was younger. But as he got to high school age, he just really desired more, which I think is quite normal for highly extroverted people.
Just so you know, your title has a typo that you might want to check out
🙄😂 oh my!!! Thank you!!! All fixed
One time you did an Amish haul where you went to probably the same store. For whatever reason it popped up and after watching that is when I subscribed to your channel. Seems like that’s been some time ago . Love to see these kind of videos.
Oh wow! Yes, it actually was about a year and a half ago… I wish we could get here more often. Although going again, makes me want to try to make at least one seasonal trip there. So glad you are here 🫶🏼
@@havenhillhomestead156 I am blessed to live about 20 miles from a horse and buggy Mennonite community and I love going to their stores and bakery. Seasonally are farmers market type produce sales as well as a few green houses and places to buy plants. So much fun.
Oh my goodness that sounds so lovely… I wish we were that close!
May I ask what State you are in?
Sure thing - we are in ILLINOIS
Always enjoy an Amish haul. Blessings
Me too!!! Love it - blessings to you as well!
