Haven't spotted anyone mentioning his R4 program "Home Truths", which I used to thoroughly enjoy. I listened to his R1 show late 70's/early 80's, mainly because they flicked it over to FM, from Radio 1's awful AM signal. He played a lot of ghastly crap, but I gritted my teeth as he would intersperse some of the worst stuff with an old Fifties disc he liked (Don French, Ron Holden etc), or the revival albums at the time from The Beach Boys, like "Surf's Up".

On July 4th, 2024, I played this version after a request for some flamenco music from a guest at my backyard deck party. BOOM. Within a minute, a 59 year-old beautiful Russian woman got out of her chair and started dancing. I joined her and we disco danced together for the next 15 minutes of the song, with very loud and bright serious fireworks exploding over our heads.
