This game is great. I spent many hours on it.

This game is fun to play, it's got a great selection of vehicles and the racing is old school fun, i recommend it to everyone. Remind me a lot of total immersion racing, if you look at that game and this, its similar the way the chase view operates and how the camera weaves side to side.

Is this real steering movement physics?

You really did some good research for this series. I had never even heard of this game until I was looking for every game with Bathurst recently. And I would have never looked at a game like this when looking for F1 cars, lol. Are you looking at every single game on IGCD or how do you identify these games?

This was one of my most played racing games on the PS2. I had no idea that it had an F1 car though, lol.

Quite puzzling to see that the pit crew always has the tires present that you are just about to select... 🤔

Unrated arcade and technology was ahead of its time.

Seeing this in real life was an incredible experience. There was one at a mall when I was a teenager. I think it was a dollar a game, which was insane at the time. I gave it a few tries, but I don’t have a lot of money as a kid! Still, it was something else to see! It just looked so surreal.

Great work! These videos are very interesting. I drove this track in a lot of games myself but I never really paid attention to those buildings before or even knew what they were. By the way, Forza Motorsport 7 doesn't always have the same sky conditions (except maybe in Rivals mode). If you do multiple races there during daytime, then it may sometimes be sunny and sometimes gloomy or cloudy. Unfortunately there is no option to force a specific version of daytime though. You can only choose between Day, Night and Rain.

I bought the 2003 version as a child. My god, that is one of the worst games ever made. Even the fixed version looks despicably bad.

4:38 "I'm not sure why this one loops, I suspect a glitch in MAME" - Afraid not... This was actually a gameplay mechanic... Random scenes would loop and you would need to keep reacting over and over! It might have been an actual glitch in the code of the arcade game... Yes, I remember this game well... I only ever beat teh Wild West stage once and I had this same "Looping" issue hit me a couple of times back in the day! On THE FIRST STAGE!!! So yeah, My guess woudl be it was actually an error in the Arcade Game Code! Which obviously still exists in MAME.

I played this twice in the arcade. It was too hard+expensive to play it any more than that.

While I appreciate the comparison, what I'm really excited abut is the possibility of playing it again. I loved his game at my local mall arcade Tilt at Northwest Plaza in St Louis, now razed to the ground. I never liked Dragon's Lair because the animation didn't impress me, but the graphics in this did, and I threw away several dollars trying to make progress. The hologram cabinet was so cool, and I would like to relive those memories in whatever limited way I can, but I never found a way to play it on computer. I never knew about any dvd or windows release, so I will be exploring getting those playable after the holidays are over and I have time. Great weird old artifact here, the arcade really tried to present a fun world of future technology then like some amusement parks, and games like this were a big part of it. Gotta love a gimmick that works.

Like one of the other commenters said those repeating sequences over and over and over killing certain enemies was a difficulty feature that increased and became more common the farther you got in the game trying to keep you on your toes and not a glitch with Mame.

Instructions to play on Windows 10: 1) Copy all of the files from the CD-ROM to a folder on your PC. 2) Replace the binkw32 file with a patched version (can't link it on here, but it's not hard to find, same file was used for the Kung Fu Panda game) 3) Game should work.

I saw this game in the arcade when i was a young boy, this and movies like back to the future 2 were all I could think about, I was addicted to tech and th is game as a hologram was amazing. The game itself of course sucked, but the future seemed bright. Never saw anything like it ever again, VR is probably the next best thing.

There was a gas station near my grandma's house when I was a kid. It had the Time Traveler arcade game. I remember being so amazed that they could project the images like they were. But my amazement was somewhat short-lived when I discovered how difficult the game was. It was really hard to press the buttons and move at just the right time.

I never knew there were games in arcades that ran on laserdisc! I used to go to arcades a lot in the 80s and 90's!

I remember this arcade game and the hologram cabinet. I don't remember seeing anybody play it. It must've been a flop

I remember getting the demo of this game on a pc gamer cd and playing the hell out of it on my voodoo 2 in 1998. It looked amazing at the time.

Could never get this game running back in the day. It looks all right! Probably pretty impressive in 1993 when it released.

Where’d you find out the Ken Block Fiesta was going to be in the game? I tried to look up any other mentions of such a car being added to SRW but all I could find was this video.

I liked this game as a kid growing up. I really loved the futuristic looks of the cars that I wanted to drive one as an adult as of now. I wonder what they would look like as real life cars by today’s standards.
