That’s a good point to make! For a guitar of this magnitude, stainless steel frets would make more sense and would increase the value. Personally, I’ve never noticed if a guitar had stainless steel frets nor do I know if there’s a giant difference between them and guitars without them. But with the ESP, my hands get sweaty pretty quickly when playing and it’s not usual for this to happen with me when playing another guitar in my collection. The other thing is that the LTD model does not have the same EMG pickups as the ESP version. The LTD has fishman pickups, which sound great but on another spectrum. I, personally, wanted a LP body style guitar for fast riffy stuff while also keeping a warm clean tone, which the ESP does really well! Honestly, if the LTD had EMGs, I would’ve picked that up immediately But thank you for bringing that point up!

I know it has emgs 57 and 66 what I was trying to say the ltds have fishmans which are just as equal in price as emgs if not even more expensive I’m not a fan of fishmans either

Thank you! It is a mahogany neck but it is a satin finish in like a "ocean blue" color. With this neck, my hands did get sweaty whenever I played it but nothing excessive either. It definitely felt sturdy and high quality when holding the neck so I hope you get that same feeling too! Good luck!

The intro of the video is the guitar on it's neck pickup passing through a clean preset on Bias FX 2. For the most part, it is a warm sounding clean that is similar to a Les Paul. It is not super bright but it sounds pretty well imo! There were a few instances where I found myself adding less EQ on a clean track than I normally do because the guitar just naturally sounded really good itself! I hope that helps!

That's how you get the original sound of the riff if played like that. To get the rhythm down for the intro, I listened to the song a bunch of times and played along to the intro a lot until it sounded close

The guitar is a EVH Wolfgang Special Electric Guitar. They have a non-special edition for cheaper price tho. I’ve had the guitar for about an year and a half now and it is fun to play on. If you’re just starting out playing guitar, I wouldn’t recommend it because the Floyd rose could be a bit difficult and costly to maintain. But nonetheless, a nice guitar and I hope you find a guitar that inspires you!!! 🙂🙂

Excellent question! I play over the song with the e-guitar already in it. What I do is take the audio file and extract it into my recording software. So if you bought the song from iTunes, you can find the song file on your computer that has iTunes on it and drag the file into your recording software. Or you can use youtube to mp3 converter but shhh.... lol. Even if the song has an e-guitar to it, I still leave it in the recording. I do not try to take it out. But when I record my guitar over the song, I usually turn down the original song and turn up my guitar so that my guitar is louder than the song but not too loud. So if you listen closely, you can still hear the original guitar in the song. Some people have software where they can remove the guitar or any other tracks on the song and create their own backing track. But it can be a bit too much work. That is entirely up to you. @@spookysoft Hey buddy! Thanks for the question! that was actually a natural harmonic, which is done by VERY LIGHTLY touching the string as you pick. Pinch harmonics are when you turn your pick to its side and pluck the string with the side of the pick and your thumb. A pinch harmonic is bit more difficult to do imo and takes more practice. But a natural harmonic is more simple but you have to find that perfect spot for touching the string so that the sound comes out more clearer. So on your fret hand, you can take your index finger or middle finger and slightly touch the string and pluck that string with your pick and you'll get a natural harmonic. The most common places to do a natural harmonic (and where you should start for practice) is the 12th, 7th, and 5th fret. So take your fret hand and slightly hover over any of those frets so that you're barely touching the string, and then start plucking those strings you're currently hovering over and you should get that high pitch sound. Hopefully that helps! It does take some practice to find that sweet spot so take your time, don't get discouraged!

Oh wow, shit just got real!!! Lol actually, the entire reason for wanting this ESP started with me wanting a Gibson lp studio at first. I tried out a wine red studio lp and wasn’t as impressed by it (mainly due to the neck). And then I wanted a lp style guitar and saw the eclipse and ended up getting it. I’ve never owned a Gibson before either but I would honestly still consider a Gibson lp. This ESP just seemed more quality built to me compared to the lp studio I tried out but I know that doesn’t reflect Gibson as a whole, even with the recent quality control issues. Either way, to each their own and I hope you enjoy the eclipse and find it more sturdy than the lp studios!

I was literally in the same scenario. The tone of the studio just left a lot to be desired for me. What's the sense of dropping 1400 on a guitar if you're going to feel like you need to mod it?. I've always wanted a Gibson lp as well and finally was in a position to get one. Unfortunately the studio is all I could really shell out for. I feel like I'll save my Gibson purchase for an lp standard rather than a base model.

It first goes 5th fret on the A string and then 5th fret on the E string, and then 6th fret on the E string and then you end it with the 1st fret on the E string. You strum each fret 4 times. Hopefully that helps!

Zeph Brailey I’m not good at making tabs but I could certainly try. Their are a few tutorial videos out already that get the main chunk of the song tabbed and demonstrated but some of the other stuff I played were either unnecessary addons or were quiet on the actual track. I play weird and I lead with my index finger so you can tell which frets I’m playing by where my index finger is. But maybe a tutorial in the future! I’m glad you liked it!

Thanks Mark! So this was the first guitar I had ever owned with Gotoh locking tuners and I've had better experiences with other locking tuner setups. I guess my point is, it doesn't stay in tune after a day goes by. When you play it, it doesn't go out of tune even if you pick too hard or play for hours. But when I would put it down and pick it back up after a day, I would have to retune. I did mess around with tightening and loosening the locking tuners but it made no difference to it. Overall, I feel like it holds tuning slightly better than a Gibson Les Paul Studio (never owned any other Les Paul's or Gibsons) and the paint on the headstock looks mesmerizing lol Hope that helps somewhat!

Rosa Zwart probably took me roughly 4-5 hours to learn it. The tough part that took the longest was the synth after the chorus since it’s not played on actual guitar and had to be transposed. But overall, you can learn it in a few hours with some breaks in between
