This game is the one that got me into the soul genre. I was obsessed with this game and cleared it 5 times. The combat is very satisfying and once you get used to it, it becomes easy, but some bosses almost made me give up.

I've not yet played Lies of P, but having played the demo, and comparing that to my first playthrough with Sekiro, Sekiro's parry system is a bit more forgiving. Lies of P has a very tight perfect parry window that will take a lot of practice. Although I saw a video wherein you can get the Aegis (please correct me if im wrong) legion arm that can help you with the perfect parry windows.

Personally I don't consider either of these hard because I played a lot of parry games before. In 99% of cases this mechanic works the same.

i would say sekiro is one of the hardest games out there and obv is Lop easier in Lop you can get stronger and from everything u can upgrade to stuff you can craft where in sekiro there is nothing like that which you means u r strong at the first boss same as the last you meet anyway good luck and continue ^^

Yeah this fight is so poorly made, probably the worst bossfight in the game.

Personally I use the parry for the "easy" attacks from enemies or bosses that I have the timing printed out in my brain, or as a way to do good posture damage, IMO that way it's the gameplay is more pleasurable, like other said you're not mean to perfect parry every attacks unless your name is Ongbal

Hes not "cheating". A Shinobi defines himself by taking on objectives that no man would face alone. Like how Wolf goes behind enemy lines regularly. If a Shinobi wishes to survive that, they need to make use of every tool at their disposal. You do the same in-game when you perform stealth deathblows, prostethic combos or Ninjutsus.

Sekiro is 1 billion times better in my opinion, lies of p really has shit unfair boss design and just doesn't feel as good as sekiro

For me, even on a charmless run, parrying in Sekiro felt way better as the enemy's sword and spear attacks are actually predictable as they mimic human behavior. In LoP the puppets or monsters attack in almost random patterns, by going from neutral to right in your face in a matter of seconds which feels off from time to time imo.

I started to enjoy Lies Of P way more when I wasn't trying to perfect guard every single attack. While I'm sure there are some pro players out there that can perfect guard every attack from Laxasia, it's incredibly difficult to play it this way. I think the developers intended you to find a balance between when you were going to take the riskier perfect guard approach vs. just a normal guard or dodge. Perfect guard is just one of many ways to deal with an oncoming attack. Pretty much the opposite in Sekiro. You won't get far unless you really master that deflect and pretty much use it 90% of the time.

Keep your distance because you can't really deflect the apes attacks it's easier when you dodge a critical cause then they are stuck in that phase and you have an open window to attack

I've had both games. I promise Sekiro has a loose and better perfect block where LOP has to be pinpoint accurate in order to work.

I think the reason it's easier in Sekiro it's because it's kind of the main idea of the gameplay, while in Lies of P it's more of a mechanic

That you need a special item to defeat certain bosses in sekiro just ruin it for me, unless you level up and come back later, but that just sound bad for me, in that point i like infinitly more lies of p

For me it's all parry, but with different letters. There is one and only parameter that determined difficulty of this mechanic - amount of active parry frames. Lies of P has 4. I played a lot of parry games and I can 100% say that this is the least amount I saw and considering movesets of bosses in that game it is one of the most unforgiving parry systems ever. And very hard for new people. Sekiro on the other hand is pretty forgiving, you can press the button somewhere near the attack timing and make a parry. And overall game is slow enough, all attacks are clearly telegraphed. I'd say it's something in the middle. Even for newcomers it's pretty friendly and easy to learn.
