      Hi, thanks for watching our video and leaving a positive comment. It is difficult to say which town you should choose as a base. Do you want to be at the coast, up in the mountains, have access to lots of retaurants etc? Your group has all ages, we assume. So that might make it somewhat complex. We have written a blog post on places to stay in Corfu for every traveler. Have a look at bootsandsandals.com/where-to-stay-in-corfu/ We didn't suggest a base in this post, as we find it really difficult to choose one. But the post does give you an idea of the atmosphere/characteristics of each town. But if we must choose a base...then likely it would be Arillas / Agios Georgios or Paleokastritsa. Other stunning beaches are easily accessed from here, and Corfu town isn't all to far away. Enjoy your time in Corfu....and don't forget to rent a boat for a day. It was the best thing we did! Hi, thanks for watching our video and commenting. Just wanted to point out that you must invest at least RM 1 million in order to buy a house in Malaysia. It's a big investment and you should be able to carry the loss if the property value or currency decreases. Plus reselling might be tricky as many might not be able to afford it. But in the end, there are many things you have to be careful about but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, right? Have a lovely day, Matt and Monico

    I think Magelang is best place, It's not too crowded and has cool weather. It's a fairly big town and close to Yogyakarta. Best places is nearer the slope of Mt. Merbabu to build a villa-like home. It's natural to choose Bali, but it's too hectic, especially if you choose Canggu. Streets are very narrow and jammed everyday. Of course, unless you prefer night life and continue connecting with other foreigners.

    What visa do I need to get if I want to move to malaysia but I’ll be able to live with a spouse while working from home

    • @makethemove101
      @makethemove101 2 місяці тому

      It all depends, is your spouse a Malaysian? Or have he/she obtained a work permit? Usually you can get a spouse/dependent visa (Long Term Social Visit Pass) if you are married. As long as you don't do business in Malaysia then I think it would be fine. But it is always best to contact the company your spouse will be working for and who are arranging the visa, and ask what your possibilities are. Have a lovely day, Matt and Monico

    • @kay2koe204

    • @makethemove101
      @makethemove101 2 місяці тому

      @@kay2koe204, that does make things complicated. The only option I can think of is a tourist single-entry visa and leaving the country every three months. But there is a chance they will not allow you to enter if you do this too many times. If your line of work fits the requirements for the digital nomad visa, you can opt for that.

      That's tricky, somehow international health care seems to be one of the most important to arrange when living abroad. Hi thanks for watching. our video and commenting. Yes, many have mentioned that it is too much. We have set the monthly costs much higher, after our experience living in Indonesia. There are so much costs that we were not aware off when planning our move: visa costs, travel costs, schooling, dentists, holidaying😊 and eating out (not always local warung style). These costs are aimed at long term living, so savings are included too. How much did you need?

    • @makethemove101

      For long term you would need to get a work permit which a company in Malaysia must arrange for you. An other option is get a spouse visa but then you must be married with a Malaysian citizen.Or you need to meet the financial requirement for a MM2H. These aren't the most straight forward options, but like any other country they are selective who receives a permanent visa. Many thanks for watching our video, have a lovely day! Matt and Monico

      Thank you for watching our video and taking the time to leave a positive comment. Retiring in an other country often involves certain financial requirements, but if you can meet them then often life will be more comfortable. We covered a bit of visa requirements for several asian countries in an other video. Perhaps this will be helpful too ua-cam.com/video/imvVvGWwKko/v-deo.html Wishing you all the best as you explore your retirement options. Have a lovely day, Matt and Monico

      Hi, best is to have a company invite/hire you to come to Jakarta so they will arrange all the permits necessary. Have a lovely day, Matt and Monico

    Filipinos are everywhere. In any country there are definitely Filipinos, but Indonesia is the most populous country in the world but it is rare to find Indonesians in any country. Except recently, Indonesians can be found in Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan,for women usually in Hong Kong and they are only contract workers,unlike Filipinos who are permanent citizens in any country.

      Hi thank you for watching our video and leaving a comment. Indonesians are found everywhere, however in low numbers compared to the Filipinos (except the Netherlands where there are many Indonesians but this is due to the connection from the past). As you mentioned they are often contract workers in Asian countries, rarely in Europe. Not sure why Filipinos are permanent citizens. Maybe they have been working abroad for generations already? Do you have an idea? Perhaps language? Or more socio-econimic? I bet if you dive into it there are many theories. Thanks again for your insight! Enjoy your day, Matt and Monico

      @@makethemove101 Indonesian descendants in the Netherlands are not western Indonesians (Malays). But they are descendants of the Moluccans (eastern Indonesians). Where in the colonial era, the Moluccans became loyal Dutch soldiers who helped oppress the natives (the natives called them black colonialists, puppets of the Dutch). They are descendants of rebels who lost the war against the Indonesian government.

      Hi, thanks for your comment. You can get a student visa if you have a guarantor who is responsible while you are in Indonesia. I believe you can get a 60 day visa, or a 12 month visa which is extendable depending on how long your program is you are following. I can imagine that universities in Indonesia can provide you which the exact steps and letters needed for your visa application. Have a lovely day! Matt and Monico

From our experience, it is nicer to live in cities slightly smaller then the major cities....if you know what I mean. So instead of Kuala Lumpur, check out Johor Bahru. We experienced this when living in Jakarta. In stead of Jakarta we enjoyed living in Bogor, a smaller city near by. Thanks again! Matt and Monico

      @makethemove101 5 місяців тому

      Hi thanks for watching and commenting. At the end you can go for a more tighter budget of course. As mentioned, we prefer to aim higher as we have had the experience before that we had to head back home because of lack of finance. We thought things would be much cheaper, but you tend to forget the things you don't have back home such as visa, airplane tickets, (international) school, expat social life (yes, you might think that it doesn't apply to you but you will not have local friends only and expats tend to spend more) etc etc....so yes, it is expensive but you want to live, grow and seek opportunities, also when living abroad. Have a lovely day! Matt and Monico

    Hi, I got over 16000 RM before tax as cunsultant in MY, is it ok or not ok ? If I take it I plan to bring family with 2 kids go there, the company will cover about 60% of kids education, I'm still thinking to take it or not, currently I leaving in Indonesia which cost of living is not much different I think.

    • @makethemove101
      @makethemove101 5 місяців тому

      Hi 16000RM would be enough, especially since the company will cover the kids' school. It all depends on where you will be living and how much the rent will be. Additionally, insurance and visas are additional costs that expats need to consider. Is that taken care of by the company too? Generally speaking, the costs would be similar to Indonesia. Again depending on where you are living. We hope you are able to make a decision soon. It's a great opportunity. Have a lovely day, Matt and MOnico
