Fozzie Day 1
Fozzie is Becca's new (to us) kayak. First trip out in her "big girl yak!" Much narrower and longer than Freddie (F&S 9'6"), Fozzie isn't as stable...but, "stable enough," especially in motion. she glides beautifully, and accelerates from a dead stop very well. Yak stats at the end.

New Gear - First Trip
Переглядів 7Місяць тому
First trip out with the Yakattack gear track (to which my go pro was attached), and with the Level Six Excursion spray skirt. Spoiler: I love them both! The video is much more stable and my lower body stayed much drier and warmer. This isn't a review, but a pleasant trip up the river enjoying some new toys. Highly recommend both.
Kayaking the Presumpscot with Tori

Kayaking around the Shaw Park/Gambo Fields area. Not a lot of action. Just pleasant water views and landscape. Something to look at, when you can't get out on the water, but need a kayaking fix!
Kayaking Panther Pond

Panther Pond; Tori and I were touring the lower end of the lake. Pretty good chop on the water from power boats and a good, solid breeze.
Songo River Locks Kayaking

Kayaking around the Songo River Locks, in Naples, Maine. Beautiful, calm waters connecting some of the big lakes around Sebago. My younger daughter and I found this gem, rather by accident, and I think it's going to become a frequent stop for us. My daughter is driving a Field and Stream Blade 97 in this video; i'm at the wheel of a Boreal Baltic 120. I highly recommend both.
Kayaking Highland Lake

my older daughter and I went to Highland Lake to check it out for paddling. Beautiful spot! Highly recommend. We were there for a lot longer than we planned; we travelled a lot further than we thought we had (until we decided to head back, and realized the distance). in this video, my daughter is wearing a Pelican Mustang 100x sit-inside kayak, while I donned my Boreal Baltic 120 sit inside kayak.

A video project went awry, so it turned into a photo shoot with Becca!

I am intrigued by how much weight you are able to support on your pivot rod. Add pitch to those blades and plastic wrap your blades and you won't need a solar panel.
Hey, sorry for the slow reply. Just getting back to this channel. You are right about converting this to straight wind power. It wouldn't take much to make it a full on generator. And, the K'nex sets are pretty incredible in what they can accomplish. A 3-D tower matrix can easily hold up a 200+ lb guy. I built several, and was able to step from one to the other, with each occasionally holding my entire weight. It's impressive stuff. We've also experimented with solar powered model houses. I don't remember the brand, but, we spent a ton of time with one that was experiments with insulation, lighting and various other "green" concepts. I enjoy this stuff. I"m hoping my kids inherit some of that interest! All the best!
@@4dhl alots happened in a years time. I solved a critical weight issue and built one of my own. I'll post a link, but UA-cam sometimes bawks at that. The other alternative is to search out my channel. Cheers.
