Nice VFR day, I needed to try and sort out radio problems I was having. I mounted my GoPro 9 to the front copilot jacks (in the past it was rear copilot's) and the GoPro 360 on glareshield to capture my hand signals which I intended to use to show when there was transmission or receiver signals. Hey great day to work the autopilot (Century 2000) since recently it didn't capture an approach. 00:...

Cold winter day, friend wanted some new places he wouldn't go in his skyhawk this time of year. I mounted a GoPro Max 360 on glareshield and GoPro 9 overhead for audio. I also just became aware that some audio wasn't working. Intercom no problem. But transmitting or receiving some was intermitant. Interesting, I could go with ATC and had no issues? Working on it. Great shots, went up the Hudson...

Uploaded only the 360 video, an edited version with audio will be coming. You should be able to move around this video. Hudson river VFR is easy, watch for traffic, take the course, or go online to review. Lights on, slow up, head on swivel, ADS/B is helpful now.

Experimenting with places to mount the cameras. A GoPro 8 has stopped recording a couple of times, maybe cause it was under the wing? GoPro 9 has been my cockpit recorder, have a 360 max and not sure which I like under the wing.... This flight had winds out of west, gusting 19, easy for the Twinco, so I hopped over to N14 for quick landing. Did catch my G530 dropping some radio calls, I'll have...

There are very few videos that shoe the Century 2000 autopilot. If you could do a video featuring your usage a button functions that would be very interesting.
Sure, sounds like a new video coming. As soon as plane is out of shop!
@@MrSmddmd Excellent! Looking forward to it!
Steven, I got a message you subscribed to me on you tube. I don't have a you tube channel, unless you want me to subscribe to you. I do comment a lot on other channels, especially accident you tubers. JPI 960 is a great piece of equipment. I have an 830 in my V35B. Years ago I did have a 760 in my Baron 58TC, also a great piece. Flew my LyCon TSIO-520-LB engines a 1,000 hours without having a cylinder off. The 760 allowed for excellent engine management (especially temps.). Your io-320 (s) are bullet proof engines. So are you a dentist or md? I think I know.
Looks great!
Great job Steve 👏👍😎
wow
You guys look cold!
Plane is light because to you didn’t invite me to go!
Love your videos, I've been flying the Twinkie on XPlane and your videos help a lot.
Steven, I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now, and I wanted to tell you I really appreciate you making these very informative videos. I’ve been an airline pilot for the last 32 years, and decided to get back into GA flying. During the mid to late 80’s I flew freight in a C310R and Be-18’s, but after 32 years the cob webs really start to set in on piston twin flying. I bought a C310J about a year ago, and your videos have really helped me get my head back in the game on this type of flying. Thanks you for your effort and professionalism.
Really appreciate the kind comment! I simply love flying, as I'm sure you understand.
I haven't tried any of the 360 cameras. What's it like to edit with them, can you randomly choose the view ?
You never closed the cowl flaps did ya?
I leave open for the climb, close in cruise and descent, Usually. The control when open is exposed about 2.5 inches. Closed in flight, pushed in, it will back out 1/4 due to air pressure. Sometimes in cruise, IF my CHT's go above 410, about, I may, may open for a few minutes to help cool off. This test since I climbed initially then did all descent level offs, overheating really wasn't an issue. And I always leaned ROP too. Sometimes in cruise at altitude I may lean to PEAK, but this was just testing, and having fun
good test... i was able to read all but 1 gauge readout! fly high, sleep low!
Nice flying! You should try setting your frame rate on the GoPro differently so that you can avoid the l.e.d. light jitter on the gauges...
I flew today and tried frame rates from 24 to 240, none better,,,best is smoother at the lower settings, better on props
Let's go... Climb high
Nice job Capitan.🕶 I'm ready for my check ride
Shotgun!
great flying , did anyone else noticed the F16 Rouge 11 call sign intercepting a pilot violation , will definitely get my attention on the radio when i hear " Rouge 11 searching "
Great video! Love the Twin Comanche.
Thank You!
One of the most beautiful airplanes, ever.
Nice video and nice job of flying! I have PA30B N8583Y and have loved if for the past 13 years. Have done a lot of work on the plane and have only a couple items left on my wish list. I really enjoy the PA30. I sometimes wish it had boots and hot props but… don’t think that’s practical. I fly in losts of weather, just careful not to pick any fights with Ice. The only place I like ice is in my iced tea! Enjoy that bird!
This was great - thank you! =)
But I fly a Cherokee?
good stuff, steven!
That is one nice view, with all the gauges and all. Love the PA30 <3
That instructor is an idiot. You never create an emergency just to simulate one. You shut an engine down at at least 5000’ AGL or more let them fly it single engine and get used to it . Then before returning to airport you restart the engine but just keep it at zero thrust and have your student land like the aircraft is single engine. That way if you get into trouble like to slow or to low or for some reason you have to go around you have that second engine to get your self out of trouble. Find your self another instructor.
Very nice. Mark, ICS 15503: VH-TWK PA30
Only ever shut an engine down at a safe height then reinstate it, after that just use zero thrust. Ps you are NOT “Simulated engine out” if it’s not going round.
This is great!
Lol nothing better buddy...
“Simulated engine out.” WTF LOL
I really like that panel set up the way it is , the 530 on top of the 155 cant go wrong with an ol 155!
thank you, yes, simple and easy, I fly a couple planes w/ full glass, or 750/650, east coast stuff, it's too busy...simple is best
Flying a twin-prop after an engine failure sometimes is hard to do and quite dangerous. It typically depends upon the characteristics of the plane and which engine is not working. A failure affecting the critical engine (usually the left one, seen from the pilot's viewpoint) generates more troubles. Some twin prop airplanes do not have the problem concerning the critical engine, as they have two counter-rotating engines. The tendency to yaw can be more strong, depending upon the mass distribution and the shape of the aircraft. In every case, the pilot must keep the IAS above the VMC indicated in the manual. Sometimes he has to pose the airplane in a safe-position, by lowering the wing with the working engine and keeping the nose oriented the other way. This is the traditional technique to prevent the airplane from yawning and entering a fatal spin. Twin props are generally less prone than "zero weight" airplanes to enter a spin, because of mass distribution, but - once the phenomenon of the spin has inadvertently started - there is normally no way to stop it.
Really??
Steve and Diane can talk the talk and dance the dance. Congratulations guys
Excellent ,thx for share
Excellent Job,never thought you guys was actually going in with one engine
Well planned, my one and only time, worked well, lessons learned..
Quinnjim, the guy in the right seat and I, are unrehearsed guys trying, first time doing this, to put something on camera for everyone. Sorry, if it isn't hollywood. He was one of the best friends and pilots i've ever known, wish he was still around, but unfortunate cancer took him, and I've not filmed since, maybe one day i will
That guy babbling in the right seat needs to shut up. Just so annoying the way he keeps repeating himself and trying to sound cool.
Not too smart... creating your own emergency. Next time try "simulated" feather instead of the real emergency. smh
Hey Ron, thanks for reply, have done plenty of them, but for once in a lifetime to see how she actually handles, all controlled environment, 2 instructors, it was a good thiing, and recorded
Thanks for the IFR lesson.
Steven, how did you attach your camera to the tail? I've just got a fly360 cam I want to attach to the outside preferably so I can get shots like you have at the start of this video. don't suppose you have a picture of your mount?
Ian Smith the tail and each wing have rings that you would use to tie the plane down with. There are handle bar mounts that work, I've done it with the 360 on my drone also
do you have a picture by any chance?
That bloody instructor won't shut up...what a pain
I always heard that twin Commanches you should never turn into the dead engine. Well, you proved that wrong on this video. LOL Enjoyed it!
At the appropriate airspeeds, the aircraft is operable in either direction. Some falacies need to be addressed....
gunsaway1 at low level. If the engine goes on climb through say 500 feet. Hell yea, don’t turn to the dead side to re circuit and land
Counter rotating Comanches are a different matter
Great vid!👌🏻
Awesome videos. You should change your titles to include the aircraft type. It will probably get you more hits. I would love to get a twin C.
one day it's going to hit back! ;)
Thanks for the free flying lesson
is this father/son?
no, just mentor
Very Cool!
Where was he going?
Do you have any more footage of Bobby Leach? Im trying to source his old Taekwondo matches and stuff, but it's all so obscure. Do you now where I can find videos of his fights?
***** no, I don't sorry, he might, best to find him, running school Voorhees NJ
Oh I know; he's my coach. He doesn't have anything though. All his tapes were either lost (moving), or borrowed and never returned. How do you know Bobby? Is that you in the video? :)
***** yes, it's me...I was ahead of Bobby, closer to his dad's era, helped bobby with the "little stuff'
***** Zac is my nephew, here this past week,,,he must have logged in,,,steve davis in video, is me.
Awesome :D Thanks!
Are you a CFII?
Johnny Avendano yes, cfi/I/mei
