I am not sure how to put this, I pick Yoshi because he's my favorite, and my opinion about the meta, it is just a suggestion by pro players, like no one is stopping you from picking Bowser or Toad. Character and car combo is a minor impact on gameplay, only your skill and luck matters while racing. Like in Mario Kart Wii, Daisy and Funky Kong are meta, I still pick Yoshi with Dolphin Dasher to take shortcuts without losing a lot of speed.

I think another reason he is picked online is customisability. Having 9 different colours to choose from (without a giant bow) will make Yoshi more popular as you feel more free with your options than the princesses' biker outfits. Also LEAVE PEACHETTE ALONE SHE IS GORGEOUS

This is truly the best mk video i have watched in a long time. Perfect level of analysis and overall quality! Glad to find this channel! Jk, loved it as always TAGS! However, a few things to say: First, DK Summit’s single sc being obsolete IS a bad thing, as what should be the easier sc than the double, is not only harder but also SLOWER than taking the intended route. Also the fact that the hole takes ages to pick you up is not a good thing - Wii RR is the track that should take longer due to the meteor effect but it doesnt? Next, Waluigi Pinball and Music Park. I know i prioritised KD, DKS and RRM but i had my reasons of course. They are both in the D Tier (Music Park at the very top now, i will concede). Waluigi Pinball… is the reasons for the average WP hater, while Music Park on the other hand… yeah i just never liked this one. I like the idea and how the executed it might seem perfect! However, the piano and xylophone sections are honestly kinda boring with how long you drift on them. Sure, N64 RR has that MASSIVE turn but at least that has SOMETHING happening, the piano noises annoy me more than wow me. The piranha plants do nothing. Simple as that. The music not section is pretty interesting and fun i wont lie, buuut it is a little basic… idk it just doesn’t do alot to me i guess. Ok now Rock Rock Mountain. I knew you didnt like this track much, but D tier HURTS. Like i said, idc for the plain visuals the BCP has, yet i still value that criticism - along with the worsened glider physics. But the rest of the track is still phenomenal! The cave with the bats is fun, the big shortcuts you can take and the boulder section shouldn’t be a snoozefest. Will always be my favourite track in the series. And finally… The two Rainbow Roads… I will say Wii is VERY good - an S tier. But just very slightly overrated. I hate Wii glazing, very boring and never gets young. But eh this track gets a pass i guess… but not compared to the HATING of my beloved 3DS RR. If RRM didn’t exist, this would be my top 1 in both 7 and 8DX (it is top 1 in 8dx btw) AND the series as a whole! It is FANTASTIC. And while i cant ignore it is the second easiest rainbow road (3rd if you count both versions of N64), it still has some difficulty to it while still being engaging and a true sentimental journey. Just like Ice World, i wanna cry and think about my past/future when i hear these songs. A true masterpiece. I will forever sing my praises to this track and you hating on it… really only saddened me. Anyways lemme know when you wanna collab ;)

BROTHERSHIP UPDATE (10/10/24) We got an overview trailer for the game today. Still not a ton of Peach, which I’m a bit worried by, but we did get a bit more screen time from her with one of the new characters describing her in a quite positive light. I personally disagree with your thoughts on mk7 gameplay. I find it to have the smoothest gameplay of any Mario kart game and the nitro tracks are also great
