Diamond Pier Install - Arched Cabin
Arched Cabin Build - Installing Diamond Piers for the Deck on the front and back.
We wanted to get this done with the original subfloor but our budget and scheduling didn't work out at the time. We decided to go with installing the Diamond Piers because of the convenience and how easily they are installed compared to traditional concrete piers.

How did the Diamond Piers work out for you?
They worked out great, we love them!
Wow!
Great job
I see the single anchor bolt in the center of each pier but I’m wondering if you can use those 4 indents to add more anchor bolts? Or is it recommended not to drill. I ask because I’m building a solar array and I’d prefer to use strut if I can and there isn’t a strut anchor that uses one single bolt. They usually come in a plate style with 4 holes.
Good question, I'm not sure but I would check on the Diamond Pier Foundation's website
You don’t need to push that thing you just need to let it do its job. 😅
it took a while but we figured that out near the end 😂
😂 thnx always love the retrospective fools- there's rocks down deah
More epic than megalodon!
what type of insulation for the subfloor?
It looks like fiberglass batt insulation to me.
What size screws did you use? Thanks!
No finish vid? The county shut you down?
No still working on it. This weekend will be the plumbing
Там еще интереснее и дешевле можно утеплять. Каменной ватой в гранулах.
Странно всё это. Работают с минеральной ватой без перчаток и респираторов. Довольно опасно.
What’s that big hole?
This place is gonna sweat its a** off.
Возможно второй слой плёнки сделают и закроют декоративной доской. Так то вполне нормально для бунгало.
Thanks for sharing, hope you keep posting till it's done! I'm also curious on the total cost as I'm looking to do this in a 24x32 in the next year or two
Beautiful ❤
Which is the angles of top beam that holds all the structures for the cabin? I saw it has kind of parts of 2 or 2 1/2 inchs each, along of the beam! Can you let us know the angle of them?
Absolutely LOVE It !!! GREAT JOB !!!!
Rockwool is a great choice of materials
Evan - any chance you’d be interested in building another one in Pagosa Springs area ?
Always luv your updates on this. My 16x34 kit should be delivered within weeks. I'd really like to know what you think of the rock wool so far. It's my intention to do the same except for a spot that needs specific insulation (small sauna).
Is yours rusting away like this one?
why didn't you make a video for the siding?
I hope this a DIY project as it looks built by musicians not carpenters, the way they manipulate the clamps, impact drives and nail gun looks like not experienced with tools at all. Anyway, embarking in big projects is very good for the mind:). Keep up the good work!
This is some buddies that work in different labor trades(non of us are carpenters by trade) getting together on the weekend to build it. Its pretty relaxed job site so not wearing tool belts and such and we are taking our time with it so yea I can see were you get that I do believe the final product quality will be excellent though even with a little tool fumbling
Thanks I guess...
Where did you get the metal arches?
It's a kit from Arched Cabins
@@evanoffgrid thank you.
Don’t order septic gravel from Ute Pass Sand and Gravel
Getting so close!
Looking Good!
looks great keep up the good work and filming
18sec ????????
Full video is up now
@@evanoffgrid ok
Did y’all get a septic yet? It’s s bitch on Park county
No, not yet
@@snarkflash I’m trying now and it’s a bitch
Are you gonna wire in any lights, outlets or switches first?
Are you planning on wiring any lights, outlets or switches after insulating the build?
Not finding any progress after this video #14. Hope you'll post the rest of the build to completion.
When are you guys doing the shiplap???
I love this ❤. It would be the a great ho.e for living in Alaska.
Nice drone action and I love the dog, bet it slept well after running hard!
This was awesome!
Defenitely like these .love put more glass on southside with steel attic staircase drop down to loft
Why cantilever the floor? Why not just have the support beam directly under the arch structure instead of putting the load on a rim joist. Are the steel arches designed to take the loft load or are people just assuming that the steel will support it.
you are drilling in sand and it its kicking your asses , sorry i am from ohio , we have dirt rock and clay , and not in that order
Hi, just found your channel this morning. Subscribed and watched all of the videos to date. It looks like you have done a very nice job on this cabin. Looking forward to future episodes. I live just down the road in Canon City. Thank you for taking the time to record and share this build with us.
What made you decided to go with rockwool vs. spray foam in a cold climate? Just wondering about condensation issues.
Bugs love tunneling in foam.
@@MrReroddid not know of this. What kind?
Any foam @@shawnasummers4647. Foam has the characteristics of soil so insects like tunneling and living in it. Some extermination services wont guarantee your home if you've used it. But your probably alright if its above grade and not exposed to the elements but some foam board have been treated to prevent infestation.
Foam is marketed as a wonder thing. But it's expensive to do, can off gas if done improperly oh and also quite flammable. That goes for foam board as well.
I couldn’t see if you poured a footing first. Are there footings under the piers? If so, how wide?
Are y’all using propane for heat ?
What are you doing for heat ?
what size cabin is it? Looks to be 14' wide?
16x24
How much was it to insulate it with that mineral wool?@@evanoffgrid
What size building is this? And how tall ins?
Did y’all get this permitted in Park county ?
Yes
@@evanoffgrid I’m working on one close to you there. They are harder than than El Paso county. I saw yours one day driving around.
