First fire on my latest project. 1970 panther 440 jlo. Other than missing the fan shroud it’s mostly complete.

I have the same sled . Just went for a short ride . 😊
That thing has SPARE ugly.lol.
Awesome!
Nice
Love that Kawasaki sound.
Beautiful machine. Sounds great with Kawasaki power. Memory lane with dad’s ‘72 399 Cheetah.
Great memories.
Sounds awesome
I thought the P’s were only free air engines? Guess I learned something new after 40 years. 😄 Awesome condition and running 😎
@@MrKingkat sadly no longer own that sled. Sold it a few years. It was mint!! The 76s were just a free air option, the 77 and 78 were optional those years but one thing to note is that the 78 free airs was basically a carryover 77 model with 78 serial numbers and the fan cooled model got the new color scheme with new suspension upgrade and lastly the 79s were only offered with just fan cooled engine
@ thanks so much for the information. 😎 I really want a free air Pantera, but mostly I fine are the fan cooled
@@MrKingkat I have 3 1976s free airs and a 1978 fan cooled and definitely like the power of a free air. If you do plan on finding a pantera free air model I suggest looking for a 77 or 78 model since those years has a way better motor mount setup. The 76s are nice but they had a one year only motor mount setup which has the very the hard to find rubber motor mounts and the sled vibrates horribly too but I do like the looks of the 76s though!
@ oh yes. I remember replacing a on the 73-74 eltigre and a 295 rotary Panther. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks again 🤙🏻
One of the best machine I ever owned. Wish I could go back in time to the good old days of snowmobiling.
Love the sound of the old cats
les moteur JLO pas trais rapide et vendue pour 27 H P mais 24 HP dans le manul JLO
What a beaut!
Nice!
I hope mine looks that good in a couple years. Not many 20 year olds like the old ones. 😂
I recently sold off all the Sleds that Dad had acquired from his 36 Years as a Cat, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and John Deere Dealer. There were about 15 to 20 Late 70's Panteras like this Free Air and Fan Cooled. Took almost 8 weeks to sell off 425 used Sleds and a Few 1978 to 1980 Cats and Kawasaki Sleds still in the Factory crates.
Nice. Where were you located?
@MrKingkat I'm in Missouri now Left Minnesota in 2018. No more Sleds for me.
@@curtekstrom9531 i googled map to Minnesota from my place. 18 hour drive and over 1,800 kms. 🤪 Would’ve like to be closer and be fortunate to purchase one or 2 of your dad’s collection.
@MrKingkat Everything has been sold, and I'm not in Minnesota anymore.
side furthest from fan always got too hot causing catastophic failure
Beautiful sled looks fantastic
I found a K-399-2T and it emmiits pure blackness and why does it do that? 2 black I inch ball lightnings spewed out of it when I turned it over and do these kohler emmit gamma rays I don’t know
Nice 👍
I had a 1980 Arctic Cat Jag 3000 Free Air. It was a great little sled and good in the deep snow. Never let me down. Good times
Arcticcat. Has always had some of the best looking sleds.
I have one, it runs good but isn't that nice 👍
I have a 77 El tigre 440 it hasn't been run in about 5 years the clutches are bad but it is scary fast 65 mph feels like 150 mph
I've had a couple 79's very fast, great on gas, deep snow efficient too!
Nice memories I remember dad selling these as a kid. Someone needs to invent a helmet cam mount for an iPhone that anyone can use.
Are you in the US or Canada?
I like your Pantera... That was the first sled I ever bought. (76 5000 free air) That thing was so nice to ride. Power, smooth, handle and reliability.
We just had someone turn in a motor today for scrap out of a 1972 440 Cat. And it still ran
Awesome group. Dad purchased a ‘72 Cheetah and a ‘70 Panther. Great memories.
love my 79 Pantera
Reminds me of my childhood😅😅
Another beauty Spence!! MAGA FORCE 2024!!!
Great video of a great snowmobile
The good old days…memories.
Sled is in mint cond!!
Great sled! MAGA 2024!!!
Awesome! I'm just getting into sleds and bought this 1979 Artic Cat Pantera. Do you have a favorite place to order parts on-line? Any particular brand/type of oil to mix with gas and for the oil injection reservoir?
Does this takes fuel oil. Mix before you fill the tank?
Oil injection I think mine wasn't I used amsoil for gas rec fuel
I had this identical one as a first snowmobile
I bought a brand new one in 77 and was king of the lake till a guy showed up with a 77 SRX 440 .....
The srx440 is a bad mamma jamma.
Just picked up a 1970 295 for 100 bucks as well. Starting the long tlc process now.
les panther avec moteur KOHLER pas trais bon il chavais et les HIRTH ose
Awesome vintage Cat!! Great condition too.
Had same one in high school bought from neighbor with 200 miles on it. Nice sled Spencer.
Geez she goes pretty good
Very nice...looking for a 70 panther myself...enjoy!
I always wanted a Pantera
Sounds good
The sound, the wind. Glory days.
Kawasaki power.
