This is really nice chill video :) I love hiking and exploring and it is cool to see other parts of the world through a similar lens!
Lovely and soothing ambience my friend! Beautifully put together!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Great video, thank you. Hope to be heading to the wind river in the spring.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
good job
Thanks for watching!
Another nice video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Nice work, beautiful country, rough trails, very high. Question: Can you reach your bear spray as quickly as you might need it? :)
Doubtful, I'm usually distracted with filming :)
What steps do you take for bear safety in the area? I understand that the bear population has increased a lot in recent years
In the Winds this year, we stored food in an Usack with OPSak (heavy ziploc), tied to a sturdy tree away from camp. We carry bear spray while hiking. When hiking thru dense cover, make noise, bang hiking poles, etc. Frankly, this summer in the central Winds, in 3 hikes we only saw one pile of bear scat (on Ice Lakes Trail), and no prints.
Nice!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your adventures. You give me retirement inspiration.
Sure thing! Keep on hiking!
Hi David could I get your advice on selecting a Titcomb basin loop route for our Boy Scout troop for august 2025? Trying to figure out the best 4 or 5 night route starting from a trailhead in the pinedale area. We would be flying into Jackson from San Diego and then driving to the trailhead. We are experienced Sierra mountains backpackers but our first time in Wyoming
Titcomb and Island Lake ares very popular, so try to avoid weekends. Definitely beautiful! Assuming you all can hike 10-12 miles a day, you could start at Elkhart TH near Pinedale and hike in to Island Lake on Day 1, day hike up Titcomb basin and return to Island on Day 2, hike over Lester Pass to Bald Mountain Basin on Day 3, hike south to Timico Lake, then west on Bell Lakes trail to Chain Lakes on Day 4, then back to the trailhead on Pole Creek Trail. Extend an extra day for side trips up Indian Basin or Cook Lakes. In 2 weeks I'll be releasing a video of a 3-day shorter variation of this loop we did this summer, from Lester Pass to Timico, then out past Chain Lakes to the trailhead, with the last day being 15 miles. Great views, great campsites, and very few people south of Lester Pass.
@@GrandDayOutside many thanks, David. I may come back to you with some further questions. I look forward to your next video! also, whats the best map to use for the area? is it the Nat Geo maps?
I use Beartooth Publishing Wind River Range North (and South) Outdoor Recreational Maps, 8th edition
Now Thats a Grand Day Outside!
Thanks!

Hello my friend! Great Video! Epic scenery for sure!
Hello my friend! Came back for good content. No disappointments here! Keep going!
As i watch these videos I know the only way i would ever consider going is on a bicycle or Ebike. my feet hurt just watching.
Yeah, there are plenty of long miles to hike into these views, but certainly worth it!
Great video. I followed along on my Nat Geo map. This would be a great trip for my son, grandson and me.
Thanks!
Wow big views right here! Such a cool video!!
Appreciate it!
@@GrandDayOutside ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic video. I was in the WRR in August last year and did some of the same trails as you did in this one. My video is here: ua-cam.com/video/6lJo7Q1MTeE/v-deo.htmlsi=degDO29hoNlDnNDh Next August I’m planning to do more or less the same as this one plus a side trip down to Titcomb Basin and Lost Lake for 2 days in the middle. Thanks for sharing, helps immensely with planning and keeps the motivation high! Thanks again from Ireland 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Try the New Fork trailhead instead of Green River Lake trailhead; maybe save a few miles...
@@GrandDayOutsideyep. That’s the plan! 😊
Hello, sweet video my friends! Just loved it!

Thanks for watching! More to come!
Such a beautiful and unique scenery guys, shots are amazing! Absolutely amazing!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed your video. Did a trip out of Turpin many years ago up Soda Fork, down Woodard to Bridger Lake and out via Trail Creek and North Fork. Considering a similar loop you did next summer. I want to see the North Fork Falls. You've inspired this 69 year old guy to do one more trip to the Teton Wilderness!
Awesome! Yeah, it's a beautiful very-lightly-used area, other than outfitters
Reminds me so much of the time Bill & I spent on the Wind River Indian Reservation. We didn't hike, but got off the main roads and took in as much wilderness as we could. Amazing country! I love this video diary.
Thanks, Heidi!
