Do you need to crank the engine to allow fuel through to the rail from low pressure side to high pressure side or does the lift mump push it all the way?

You my nguy are genius ... Had --- on my fuel gauge, filled up 6Litres at a station then drove 20km then filled full up without Turning car off ... Then next moring wont start... I have tk get a taxi to store and will let you know ...😂🎉

Hi, just wanted to send a big thank you too. I have my 2013 X5 35d (E70) and my car died on me while I was driving on the freeway, I pulled over and waited for several minutes or so, and started it again. It started up and was able to drive home safely. The next day we were driving and it died again, this time it wouldn't start up. Crack but can't stay on. Got it towed to the dealer and they quoted me that the DDE needed to be replaced, the fuel line, and wire harness, and the cost was 9 thousand five hundred dollars to get it fixed. Cut to the chase, I found an exact DDE and bought it from Canada with other parts that the dealer quoted me. Got the DDE cloned and replaced all necessary parts as required, all new parts are installed. As well as a new battery that the dealer replaced a year and a half ago. The scanner can't find my DDE, I even replaced both fuel relays from the back and the front! No luck with getting it started and staying on. What else can I do? Any advice? Thank you kindly in advance for your suggestions and thoughts.

Saved us too, bought that same pumper and used it on injector 1 only. Pumping with about 30-50% vaccum on the gauge worked best. Then the engine started after about 8 seconds on the starter. Nothing, nothing, then suddenly it started and ran fine. No stuttering or anything.

Hello, I have a BMW X5 which hasn't turned on for a long time. It had a code stored with the glow plug module. I replaced it with a new one along with the spark plugs and it starts but doesn't turn on. I checked the low and high pressure data on low. It has 30 psi and there is no pressure in the rail, I have already carried out the bleeding procedure to the system but no fuel comes out of the pipes and the inlet hose to the pump if there is fuel

I didnt need a vac pump. I just loosen the pipes that go to the injectors and start the car for about 2 minutes without the intake on. Then put the intake back on and it started first time.

Sorry if this has already been asked mate but Are you using ISTA/P? cause i saw that ISTA/D might not work with the E81/E87 Did you not need to code the new one in? Also if you did did you need a deuteronic battery to keep a steady voltage whilst it programmed the module? Did you use a DCAN cable to connect your laptop or diagnostic device? Thanks in advance

Interesting, my 3.0d X3 is having issues starting, need to crank it 5 or 6 times before it finally starts, ista detected the fault start pressure rail. However when the car is sitting for a while uphill it starts first go... Maybe air in the system.

Russians have learned how to change nozzles by removing the front plug on the wings, and you, as usual, take apart the whole car😁

I'm doing the same thing.......followed your lead with ista. However, when I click prime I don't hear a pump going. Is it audible in operation. I've good hearing

can this relay make clicking chaterring noise whilst car is warming up ??? from around 20 to 80 degrees i have, annoying rattling noise which i assume is relay clicking (diagnostic shows all 4 cylinder glowplug fault) and then once its warm 90 degrees the rattle is completly gone.

In the same boat, can the pump be active by turning on and off the ignition? Many thanks

Wow. There are to small wires that go to the battery. This Information was amazing.. I should have watched it.. as I was getting a it's no signal errors.. I should have watched this then gone and bought a new alternator and battery. Wow... amazing

Hi I’m having same problems I got fuel from fuel sender to high pressure pump but no fuel coming out from injectors pipe and there is no power to injectors pulse I don’t know if it’s airlock or electric problems

Regarding the replacement of the plug control unit, a year later I again began to highlight the problem through Inpa. I recommend that you take a close look inside at the positive contact, which is connected to the relay and also the contacts for connecting to the glow plug

Hi can I use this with my nest or do I need to install the tado receiver aswel. I dont understand how it will connnect to my existikg receiver to tell the boiler when to fire up. Thank you

I've just managed to unplug both plugs from my existing unit from under the bonnet, now I'm torn whether to spend £68 on Beru GSE101 or £144 on BMW Unit? Is the Beru unit you fitted still working two years on?

Hi, I'm basically in the same boat. however, when I did what you're doing, it seems like the fuel is going into my catch can much quicker than in the video. Basically it fills it up within 30 seconds, and its still coming out with bubbles. This is making it quite the mess, since I have to constantly cancel the operation in ISTA, empty my catch can, and repeat. Did you somehow reroute the fuel to go back into the system from the catch can? Is there anything that I'm missing?

I believe the device you refer to as the "IBS" is actually the BST.

I think this could be the problem on my Mercedes Sprinter. I replaced the common rail with a brand new one because I got a code to do with the sensors so I just replaced the whole thing. So anyway after I replaced it the van would just not start not even on easy start. The vans been sat for 6 months. It's a Mercedes Sprinter 2014. I'm gonna try this tomorrow and hopefully it solves the problem. Could I not just loosen the injector pipes and crank the engine to remove the air from the system?

Would be interested to see how to check the fuel pressure without a pc and without removing all the manifold pipework. Do you think its possible?

Is this the same engine as the bmw e39 525tds?
