    Have the exact same kayak- I think I’m going to try using a larger pipe going across the kayak and then slide a smaller one in so that I can drill a hole and put in a pin for easy removal for hauling. Does your set up interfere with hauling in back of a pick up? Thanks for posting!

    I like this but I am wondering if they could be wider apart from the the kayak and also the floats larger in diameter say 6-8 inches in size and places like you have them in the rear on the kayak? I have an idea but not sure if it would work and I love working with PVC as a a sturdy material I know it makes great survival bows and hunting bows and am thinking on this. Please let me know what you think.

    Nice setup. I think I'll have to build something similar with my Pelican. I'm a big guy so I might have the bumpers a little more low the. You have yours so they stabilize faster. But I love the setup. Great video. I appreciate it 🙏🏼

      Hey bamarockstar, If you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all: unless you're correcting an idiot, which is what I am doing. Consider yourself a corrected moron. Now hurry up, I think I hear your sister calling you. We know all about your kind from Bama.

    Two things that I noticed that may cause you problems. Number one is that the stabilizer's are running parallel to the sides of the kayak and this may lead to tracking problems on the water. The second thing is to do with the sweep of your paddle. I would shorten the front and lengthen the rear bars attached to your floatation devices. That will allow you to get more sweep with your paddle. I hope these suggestions help.

      Should the stabilizers run perpendicular? I think that would just slow it down and make it harder to paddle.

      @@davids1924 I tried them out today for the first time and they worked amazing! The only thing different I had to do was put a screw in the pipe strap into the PVC to keep them from turning when the drag caught them.

      I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Will want to remove mine also so I'm thinking of using a coupler on both ends of main beam and securing the floats then by some sort of clip for when on the water.

    When I finished high-school I went to work at a place called Strickland portable buildings, in Beaverton, AL. I was there for over 10 years before the price of diesel fuel got so high that they shut the plant down,but I had a hand in building some where between 35,000 to 40,000 of storage buildings.

    Good set up but your floats are too small. Once they are submerged they offer no more float. You need something that is a lot wider at the top so the deeper it goes the more float it creates.

      Having the journey 10ss my plan is to slide the outrigger frame into the factory rod holders. Fastening that down once I'm on the water is going to be another challenge

    Thanks for posting this great video:) The only thing I noticed is that had you gone further down with your drop it would increase the stability. I understand where you were coming from with your logic of keeping them up so they were at water level, however during the standing test rocking side to side you could see that the floats lifted almost completely out of the water, whereas had you gone as deep as the bottom of the kayak it wouldve further improved the stability by the flotation being further in the water:) Keep up the good work:)

    • @Okinanam69
      @Okinanam69 Рік тому

      You are right. The wider the span the better stability and the buoyancy of both buoys does not sharply decrease due to their proximity to the center weight of the boat, just like the wingspan of an eagle. If its wingspan is short, it cannot glide as good.

    • @BackyardRambo

      After the fact but the pressure on the stabilizers from bouncing in the water will bust out the screws on the mounting bracket. It’s only plastic. He does not have hull access so his only other option would be using well nuts to secure the brackets. Then he could mount them deeper in the water.
