      @@MegaGoldring I haven’t had to clean It yet, but what I’ll do is turn off the pump; rinse all the gravel down which will push the sediment into the clean out barrel; then pump out that dirty water with a sump pump

    Fantastic video, I plan to follow your example. Just curious, do you feel the bog filter and stream cause more water loss through evaporation? I'm thinking about keeping the total exposed water surface relatively low, which would mean a deeper bog and perhaps a closed pipe leading to the pond waterfall. Already I need to top off my pond about once/week, so I'm concerned that adding a bog filter will increase the evaporation.

    • @TheStump29
      @TheStump29 Місяць тому

      @@icodeandmakevideos567 yeah I’m sure they do especially in the hot summer months. For me, I think the beauty It adds is worth topping the pond off a little more often, but I could see why someone would want to limit evaporation the best they could.

      @TheStump29 Місяць тому

      @@axlmcintosh6148 Yeah mine cost about $25k. There’s a lot that can vary based on location though. For example $5k of my cost was in running power to my external pumps and having the pond grounded by professional electricians to meet safety codes.

  • @sweeyong7756
    @sweeyong7756 Місяць тому

    I just cleaned mine out. 4m in diameter aboit 1.3m deep, 8 workers 6 days to remove. It was a big mess. Not going down that path again. Sediment build up in the centipede pipe is not the problem. Its when sediment builds up in the various media level. Its near impossible to clean. Its a matter of time. Mine was close to 5 years old. I am going to do a seperate mechanical filtration before running water through the bog. The bog is purely only for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate conversion and home for good bacteria. Your still early days. U might want to reconsider your entire set up.

      @TheStump29 Місяць тому

      @@Hosstyle. thank you sir! So the liner going from the wetland to the stream is seamed and the stream section going into the pond is just overlapped on top of the pond liner. There’s a big enough drop to prevent water from getting underneath. I just used a seam kit that I got online. I believe it’s from Webbs Water gardens. Basically used a primer, then a double sided “tape” to connect the liners, then put another single sided cover tape on top of that. There’s some videos on UA-cam that do a great job showing how to do It. I recommend Tussey Landscaping’s video.
