Not only have I never been stalked by a coyote, but I don't know anyone who has. (Been attacked by a muskrat but that's a different story) Most encounters I've had with the species.... they are "hell bent for election" shall we say. If I ever AM stalked by a song dog, I hope it's in a time of year when his pelt is prime, cause that's the LAST thing that critter will be doing in this lifetime.
Every night I chase off a pack of coyotes with nothing but a short spear. I can't use a gun because I don't want the sheriff called on me. I live in the unit closest to the trees and the endless fields and the coyotes are looking for rabbits and feral cats. Problem is ..I like the cats and I will protect them. They've gotten 2-3 cats in the 15 months I've been here, but I've chased them off a hundred times. I need a rifle with a silencer lol.
Looks a lot like a domesticated wolf I had years ago. A wolf will average 175# in the wild as they expend a lot of energy on the hunt. The domesticated wolf I had weighed between 275 & 300 pounds. When I took him to the vet, they weighed him on the livestock scales. I'm pretty sure this is a Coywolf in the video. Reason I think it's a coywolf. Well, not much to judge by, but looks like it could weight about 60 pounds. Another clue is it's snout looks far to narrow to be a full blood wolf.
That's a big coyote it could be half wolf half coyote. But I don't think the coyote was going to attack you .you must have been real still. You scared the coyote. maybe it had bad eyesight
This is a prime example of how stupid humans are. They behave in an antagonistic manner (standing on one place for a significant period of time holding a camera pointed at a species that is used to humans walking AWAY) and then, the stupid human accuses the animal of an intent to attack him which, in turn, promotes an unfounded assumption that Coyotes are aggressive, STUPID HUMANS!!. I have ZERO respect for this idiot.
That's a wolf and he's by himself which means he's an older, former Alpha who was ejected from his pack by a younger Alpha and he is in desperation mode to eat and to find another pack. That wolf is as dangerous as they come in that moment. It is a miracle he did not force you to shoot him. Your sudden movement startled him. Had you been out there with no gun, you'd have likely tried to flee and he'd have smelled the fear on you. You'd have been eaten, shit out and eaten again.
That's definitely a coyote, in winter coat, which makes it look larger. The long skinny muzzle when it turns it's head sideways is a dead giveaway. A wolf has a much beefier head!
Good job, that Coyote looked a bit like a hybrid (wolf/coyote). I’v seen animals behave this way if your in full camo and remain still. They see you but don’t know what you are.
I was camping in the Manistee national forest and one was ripping through my tent and started to come in growling being aggresive and my kids got scared and I was to but then I heard more coyotes coming in camp so I grabbed my 12 gauge and defended my family shooting him in the face with 00 buckshot,it was messy and I didn't want to kill anything but as a father I had to protect my family but I did feel bad about it in a way.😞
Agree. It's got that distinct broad wolfish "U" shaped muzzle & "smile"; front view. Its side view is more pointed & narrow - coyote-like. (The old filming makes the animal look heavy so it's hard to say it's part wolf with absolutely certainty.)
This is an example showing why we need weapons and need to kill these coyotes to prevent such attacks. They are now attacking children and women, they already killed a women in US.
That what I needed to see thankyou

Not an attack
Around here the coyotes are very skittish... EXCEPT when they're not. Great video!
Should be called coyote bluff

Is that a wolf?

Coywolf or healthy adult coyote
Wolf or mix
Almost certainly a coywolf. Too small for a wolf, but too husky for a pure coyote.
That's a big coyote it could be half wolf half coyote. But I don't think the coyote was going to attack you .you must have been real still. You scared the coyote. maybe it had bad eyesight
Wolf
Mighty large for a Coyote. Looks like maybe one of them Coywolf hybrids South Eastern Canada's been having trouble with to me.
It's no Coyote...sheesh.

I would have shot that thing.

Wolf
Coy hybrid wolf/coyote
Pure wolf
I see both coyote & wolf. Hybrid, maybe?

Beautiful coyotes very nosey

Not a wolf people but they have been cross breeding but seriously it’s not a wolf
Too wide to be a coyote. Thats a beautiful wolf.
Looks like a Coywolf. They’re becoming more popular now from crossbreeding. I realize this is an older video but I’m sure it still happened back then.
Wolf
You are lucky you saw him 😳
He got ur scent a wife of u got him at a stair down kinda creepy in always leaking for food. Don't turn down food go after it lunch time
Tilt of the head means kill u I'm guessing
Fearless coyote to bold for me I'm outta here if we're me
That side aggression look I'm coming for u
I was camping in the Manistee national forest and one was ripping through my tent and started to come in growling being aggresive and my kids got scared and I was to but then I heard more coyotes coming in camp so I grabbed my 12 gauge and defended my family shooting him in the face with 00 buckshot,it was messy and I didn't want to kill anything but as a father I had to protect my family but I did feel bad about it in a way.😞
No doubt, its a coywolf.

YOU'RE A STONED FREAK, MAN!!!!! STOP IT WITH THE KIDS, YOU'RE A FREAK
Didnt u notice that the coyote ran away immdiately when he saw you. Probably u were wearing something that caught his eye earlier. #ProtectWildlife
Definitely a coywolf
That wasnt attack mode. More like curiosity on the coyote's face!!! Such a sweet face. It was as if he was smiling at you!!!
Looks to me the coyote was curious but no way that he was going to attack you!!!
This is an example showing why we need weapons and need to kill these coyotes to prevent such attacks. They are now attacking children and women, they already killed a women in US.
Looks more like a wolf or a husky
why didn't you waste him?
That'd have been a dead yote. Next time shoot.
Ok, you had a shotgun, why was it lying on the ground 15 feet away?
A curious young wolf, not sure what he is looking at. "Oh, crap! It's a human!"
Thank you for not shooting it just because it's there. You're a respectable and worthy hunter.
Hunters do not do that. You can get in some serious trouble. Poachers are a different story.
He didn't shoot because it was a small predator. He won't think twice against a bear 😂. Even I won't.
Wolf hybid
Beautiful animal, looks possibly to have some wolf dna.?
