Hi Guys,
I'm "Damo" and this is my channel "The Shed Sesh" all about the shed. Being in it. Using it. Loving it!
The shed always has been, always will be and always should be a place for designing, inventions, building, making, mateship, contemplative thought and relationship making.
I grew up in the shed helping the old man build and fix things. I learn't how to use tools, look after tools, how to be safe around tools and have the confidence to create, to look after my car, my house and generally everything.
This channel will be based around the shed. I'll video all of my projects and explain a bit about how I did them.
I'm no expert at any one thing. I'm just an average guy. I am a Professional Engineer by Degree but in general it's all about getting out there and giving it a go. I just love being in the shed!
I'm going to give a solute to my old man who put the time and effort into me as a kid and taught me to be hands on and that anything created by man can be fixed by man.

Hey Seshers, Struggling with motivation to do absolutely anything lately. I'm trying to push myself but just end up sitting in the shed staring at the multitude of projects and doing sweet FA. Not saying it isn't depression, but not saying it is. Think it's just the almagamation of the last 2 years and slowly getting back to "normal", whatever that is. Thanks for the video, you just solved my problem with 12pin plug!
No probs, glad it helped 👍😊
i thought this was will sasso for a second lol
In America these are deemed to be unsafe and illegal to use
Hmmm, I can see why given they don’t seal like the new combustion stoves. Best used in well ventilated rooms.
I would have said something a little bit harsher mate……great vid
Haha, yeah, it’s the old “easy when you know how” but until then it does ya head in.
About to slap one of these on the misses ve and a 25mm manifold insulator already got the 12 mm on it
@@Aussiemade420 great stuff. It definitely gives you some much needed adjustment.
@TheShedSesh your the first bloke I've seen do it sk fuckin easy but gave me abit of hope 😂
@TheShedSesh she only has a 3.0l omega and our local exhaust shop on the sunshinecoast coast said it wouldn't do anything for it, just put her in took 20 minutes and holy fuck made a massive difference
Looks Good, What's your front spring rating?
Know this video has been up for a few years but thank you for taking the time to film. Great video and you are a real bloke. I like how you explained all your mistakes, your assumptions and errors. Then moved on. You also didn’t ramble and try to sell everything you touched. Mate, I do have one question; how much space do you have from the hoist columns to the back of the shed. And how much space do you have between the front of the car and the back of the shed?
Just saved my night, thanks mate. Liked and subscribed.
Glad it helped 👍
Ha like the 10 or 11 years bit reminds me of me Good work Fella Cheers
Done well the old girl all original still has tin headgasket will be like new with a rebore and freshen up
Any photos of Wire diagram for limit switch and possible motor if possible?
When everything is in its place it's like your life is more organized too. It's good to keep things organized
Absolutely!! 👍
Would this work on the old expandas 17 series were hard lif comes up from bottom ?
Awesome vid mate. Just curious and could be a silly question but was the thick red wire in the anderson plug the negative or positive? Thanks
I put grease in my plug it just keeps all the dirt n water out
You're the only one that's done the install the easy way. Every other video I've seen has people pulling the top part of the dash apart just to get the bottom trim off. About to find out firsthand myself
Thank you so damn much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not figure this out! You're the best!!!! Cheers!!!!!
No probs. It’s a tricky one 😉
Great vid, well done. I've always wanted to build one, I might have to give it a crack. Cheers.
Is this a concrete filled bollard?
Like a bought one. Great video
Howdy Shed Seth , I am trying to FIX my 1968 HOLDEN KINGSWOOD HK Window Winding Mechanism . Rare Spares don't makes these parts . Thanks for your video . ROBBIE 🐎🏁
Cool. Not sure what you painted it with. I prefer a stove black/paste.
Hi.just saw yr vid.some reaserh.the thick red and earth white aren't they for the caravan fridge....cheers
Thanks for this. Been rattling my brain for a day.
No probs mate 👍
Giddyup, I'm right with ya.
Awesome mate, I was searching for White Knight 300g Pot Belly Black and this video came up cool, was checking to see what it looked like, going to maybe try this on my extractors of the new HJ I picked up 😂
Cool car on the lift! What is it?
Put a very similar looking 2-post lift in my new "shop" as we call them in America. Can't wait to actually use it. Thanks for sharing your experience! Question: why are Aussie sheds uninsulated metal? Seems it would get terribly warm, or cold. Or is it a building code thing?
Thanks for the vid. I have a BA ute and I was thinking about tub removal and putting a tray on, but liked the idea of a tub trailer since no one is doing them these days and scrapping the tub seemed wasteful. But I had no idea what to do about trailer frames, suspension or axles so your vid was very helpful for me to understand some key points. By the way nice holden coupe in the background?. LE or HQ monaro?
Awesome video. Just what I needed.
So do you have to maintain the horrible indicators if you put a Hq bumper on? I don’t want to put the commercial bumper back on and want to use the Hq one.
Hey mate, love it, just got the tub off my Ute and wanna do the same thing. How did you go with registering it if you did? Thanks mate
Legend mate I'm ripping an hx ute apart and I was about to spit the dummy and break something 😅 Life saver 👍
Good stuff 👍👍
Was going to ask what happened with the one tonner as it had been a while, hope you get back into it soon.
Mate, it has been a while. It hasn’t gone anywhere, I just need to get into it. Thanks for giving me a kick along 😉 🕷️
@@TheShedSesh 😜🦶
Hi mate what’s the whole exhaust setup on this ?
Hey mate, dual system, maybe 2.25, with no cross over and standard headers. Don’t know what the muffler are. We’re on the car when I bought it 25 years ago 👍👍 A bit droney at 100 but reckon a crossover should sort that.
Looks great! How is it, may well enquire with them for one!!! What did they seal the collar with into the ground with?
I put mine in on my sv6 and now I’ve got a safety and power reduced fault idk what i did wrong
That’s no good mate. Maybe try unplugging it and see if it removes the fault.
You put it in a Holden, is where you went wrong! 😂
Never too much details, mate. Perfectly explained. The only vid I need to watch on this subject. Thanks
How thick was your concrete floor? Mine is 100mm, thick enough for those anchors do you think?
I bought a 100+ year old comfort potbellied stove that was in great condition but rusty, I just applied stove polish right over the rust. Its just carbon black and a soft wax. Use a damp cloth and it polishes to a high shine. it is fireproof and just needs to touch up every year or so. Barbecue paint will grey out .
Spot On!
Hey mate did you have to upgrade the struts at all?
Hey bud, nup. Just what I did in the vid. They seem to handle the weight ok. You’d hope that jayco chose them to take the weight of their own options. So far so good 😊
Common problem on 308's with high km's on them, happened to me, the taping noise on my engine was the valve pushing the piston top down as the top separated from the rod and pin
Ha, geez. Makes sense. did you save it or too much damage? I was surprised this didn’t explode but unless I’ve missed some cracks she should live to power another old girl. Thanks for watching 👍
@@TheShedSeshI rebuilt the motor, but block and crank was ok, replaced all the rods and pistons, heads ok
As far as home wiring jobs go, yours is one of the better examples. You didnt use a vice or angle cutters to try and crimp the wires.. Only changes I would make is to use heat shrink instead of electrical tape, and expose a bit more of the wire going into the anderson pins,, (use heat shrink to secure the braided sheathing to the pins as well.. Over al, well done. (P.S. I am picky with wiring/crimping, as I an an RAAF trained Avionics Tech/Elec fitter of 50 odd years experience)
Ahhh, yes, no room for not perfect in avionics. Thanks for the feedback mate. Next one 😉 I do love heat shrink.
Also, why did you decide to paint it instead of seasoning your stove?
Hey Laurie, as far as I know this is what you do with potbelly stoves. Without paint they will rust. A cast frypan can get away with seasoning but I wouldn’t have thought a potbelly would. I suppose they call the paint “potbelly black” for a reason 😊
It can be heated up with a good hot fire and coated in bacon grease, tallow, or just crisco. The cast iron will soak it up just like a skillet. Apply with a paint brush. Reapply every once in a while. It'll be black and rust free. Also, no toxic fumes the first burn like paint.
Question…I have the same stove. However, I’m missing the middle piece with the door. Is there anyplace where I can get this missing portion? Thank you!
Hey Laurie, not sure where to get parts for these. They aren’t a popular item now a days. Maybe just keep an eye out for one that’s wrecked but has the part you need.
any reason to not crimp the Anderson lugs in, done in like 30 seconds vs soldering? from what I've heard soldering can fail - at least when done DIY, so crimping would seem a better idea for DIY
Hey JB, you are correct. There are 2 camps with wiring. To solder and not to solder. Problem with the Anderson 50A pins is they are huge compared to the wire going in them so the crimp would have to be VERY good. If you were poking in a 50A wire then crimp all the way 👍
Genuine Anderson plugs have lugs in different sizes to fit smaller cables , non genuine are mostly only 6bs
This is bloody brilliant design. Go the Aussies!
Thank you so much tht was a amazing video im definitely gana older one for my 2005 Holden commodore vz tht was amazing 😍😍😍
That’s great mate. Glad I could help 👍👍
Is ur buttons really stiff ? Coz i bought one and the of the buttons not even pressing
Hey mate, no, they don't seem to be. I'd contact them for a replacement maybe. Mine hasn't skipped a beat.
Hey mate. Would it be too much to ask for the plans or dimensions of your bottom under-tub parts? Mine has a canopy and it's VERY heavy and I cannot flip it over to measure it
I can mate but might take a few days to get. Of course I never wrote them down haha. You after the bolt hole locations? Spring hanger locations etc? Anything else?
@@TheShedSesh Yes please mate, width and length, bolt hole locations, hanger locations, and anything you'd be willing to add for a young player. I've never done anything like this before and I'd be so grateful.
