Bourbon Boys Review: Episode 85 - Parker's Heritage 2018
Nice job guys, Finally visited a Total Wine and picked up the Rickhouse. Of the 3 Wolcott's I saw this one had the most appeal!
It's a nice bourbon, in my booklet.
I've tried it, twice, and I liked it, but I've never bought a bottle.
I really love this stuff, and I got my bottle for an incredible price- $17.50.
I enjoyed my 750ml bottle, and I'm sorry that it's now gone.
I enjoyed my bottle. Now, it's all gone.
Sorry about the noise. I went and bought the entire Benchmark lineup.
Have you ever tried Evan Williams "green label" 80 proof, aged 3 years?
I've been enjoying my 750ml bottle.
I tried this, once. I did like the flavor, but the proof is too strong (for me).
I've had this nice bourbon, twice, and it's fairly common, in Louisiana.
It's popular, in Louisiana, and it's $24.99.
I like it, and we can get it in Louisiana for about $18.99.
This bourbon is listed on the Buffalo Trace and Great Bourbon company websites.
I certainly did enjoy my 375ml bottle.
I've been enjoying my bottle, I have to admit.
I enjoyed my 375ml bottle.
I tried it, yesterday, scoring it an "A" (most excellent).
I just picked this up at a total wine myself and loved it. Easily drinkable off a pour with or without ice
Yeah it was a great pour. Glad we tried it out. Thanks for watching!
Thank you ,now i buy a maker's mark 101 instead, yummmmmiee
Great choice for the money! Thanks for watching!
I agree with your perspective... 1792 full proof drinks HOT! Not enjoyable at all (and mine was a store pick). I'm going to give the Wolcott Rickhouse a shot. Another awesome high-proof pour is the Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof (mine is 129.3 proof). It is smooth and not hot at all. Good video. I enjoy hearing "normal" drinkers (like myself) take on bottles. Thanks!
Walcott really was a surprise, but we're glad we discovered it. Thanks for watching us normal drinkers!
Hello Mr. Bourbon Boys I visited your UA-cam channel. Your videos are fine but if you do your video thumbnail and (SEO) search engine optimization your video will rank very soon. I will wait for your reply
It took me a bit of time to acclimate to the proof. The last 4 or 5 ECBPs had such saturated flavor that the proof was an afterthought. C923 was just past the critical mass of proof impact. My trick was taking micro sips and letting it roll on my tongue until the proof impact faded. I like her quick a bit, as bity as she is.
The proof didn't really effect me much, but I can totally see how it might block some people from tasting the full flavor. Thanks for watching!
Spot on!! You won't be disappointed if you pick up
Yes, we were pleasantly surprised by this one. Thanks for watching!
Congrats on your 100th episode!! What a great bottle to review for this video! We are huge fans of OGD114! We have a hard time getting it here in Northern Indiana!! Good luck growing your channel!!
It seems i can't ask a total wine salesman a single question without them attempting to steer me toward wolcott, macfarlane, or chestnut farms. Glad someone finally reviewed this one! Cheers!
I'd say give it a try! We really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Nice i love this bottle
We really enjoy this one too! It's always on both of our shelves.
I loved this pick and just grabbed two more.
This is a fabulous bottle. I'm glad we were able to grab a couple. Thanks for watching!
It is very good, but in the Cincinnati area mid 30s to 70 in NKY. Cheers 🍻
One of the good things about living in a controlled state. Thanks for watching!
I'm glad you enjoyed your bottle, I wish we had enjoyed it more. It breaks my heart to spend that much cash and be disappointed, but it's great fun trying new whiskeys! Thanks for watching.
We must have gotten different bottles. Mine did not have a distinct Dickel flavor, I didn't get the Flintstones flavor. Which the Dickel BIB was overpowering with. Nor did it remind me of Dickel #12. I found it to be a fairly sweet and smooth whiskey. I rather liked it, but I will agree it is not worth $90, but if you can get it for $50 I'd say it is worth it.
Now I’m happy I got one even though it is MGP juice that was aged in Mississippi. Thanks for the honest and fun review.
Thanks for watching! They are fun to do.
I’m a one wood species kinda guy lol. Another fantastic review!
Cheap buzz if ya ask me. Ya don't know till ya try it.
I bought the same bottle. There's a nice dark fruit note that comes out as the bottle opens up.
I really enjoyed this bottle. Sounds like you did too. Thanks for watching.
@Joe W yes I did indeed. My initial assessment was exactly the same as yours. Lots of dark sweet Oak and brown sugar, but then as it opened up about halfway through the bottle, that dark cherry, and maybe even a plum note came out of nowhere. Hopefully, L.B. still has more of these picks, but I doubt it. Lol
Sounds like you are close to me, if you haven't went there yet try Whitey's liquors in greendale Indiana next to shell as soon as you turn left to go tword Lawrenceburg
Thanks for tip and thanks for watching
I used to work in a somewhat high end bar in Kentucky about 7/8 years ago... We poured more KT than anything (it was our well... shhhh) in my 6 years there. Sure, people would ask for their Weller, Willet, Woodford, Blantons, and Pappy, etc. But if you drank a well bourbon in our establishment with your $80/$120 meal, you were drinking KT. Don't worry, those well drinks were not price-gauged - those well drinks were quite affordable compared to what a lot of folks in the neighborhood were offering theirs for (probably thanks to that KT). I still buy it for milk punch every Christmas for our Christmas party. Haven't had a complaint yet. It's not a sipper. But it mixes great. I can't imagine spending more money if I'm going to be mixing something with a cola or Ale8 (Kentucky ginger ale).
I agree, KT is not for sipping. It doesn't bring much to the table, but it's not offensive and the price is right. If your going to mix your bourbon with something, Ale8 is about as good as it gets. I have a theory that it was made for that purpose. 😁 Thanks for watching
Bought this and tried it a few weeks ago. At first I thought there was some smokiness and barrel char to it but upon returning twice more to it with different palate conditions each time, I’m realizing it’s just shallow in complexity and a burnt taste pervades over all else.
Nice take! Bottom line, it's pricey and not that good. Thanks for watching.
Love the 107!
To this day it is still one of our favorites. Thanks for watching!
Gotta love all these drunks trying to make their alcoholism into a hobby. Sitting there with no personality, no chemistry and no views. Time to clean up boys. You’re making yourselves a fool. Nobody really can tell expensive alcohol in any form from cheap stuff. It’s been proven. You guys are all full of sh*t. And I know this because I used to be one of you. Cut this crap out before it costs you. And it will if it hasn’t already.
Bernhiem is a wheat whiskey 7 year age statement I think, its pretty good. Makers Mark is a wheated mashbill, go with the cask strength, it doesnt disappoint. Good job fellers!
There many excellent wheated bourbons, Makers cast among them. By comparison there are few wheat whiskeys out there, and this is the first one we've had that I say is excellent. I would recommend trying it if you get the chance. Thanks for watching.
You lost me on floral lol. Bring the rest of the bottle so I can give my amateur opinion. Another great sipper review!
Sadly that bottle is history, but on the bright side, it's easy to get another, which I did. So I look forward to getting your opinion.
promosm 💘
Had some last night with a neighbor buddy. We were comparing it to Evan Williams. The Evan crushed OGD. Probably much better in an old fashioned.
Both are much better at 100 proof. They have very different flavor profiles, with Evan Williams being sweeter, but with a short finish. OGD bib is spicier with a medium finish. Both are enjoyable and a good bargain, but in our blinds, the Evan white label comes out on top too.. Thanks for watching.
@@joew400 I've had the OGD BIB and it makes a fantastic old fashioned! Actually the best one out of probably 7 or so bourbons I've tried. Will be getting the EW 100 this weekend!
46 regular release. Cask 46 was limited release. Its disappearing and getting harder to find. Makers did just release some private selects that are Ohio exclusives. Great environment. Enjoy.
We enjoy many of Makers products and we were able to pick up one those Ohio private selects, tasty. I did not know the 46 Cask was a limited release. I'll be sad when it's gone, but enjoy it while it's here. Thanks for watching.
Last call in ohio. Just picked one up for $14.
Nice price! Hope you enjoy it
I've drank this many times enjoy the flavor.
Old Grand Dad remains one our favorites. Thank for watching
Congrats for hitting 100 Subscribers!!
Thank you!
Thank you! Thanks for checking out the video!
I didn’t like Outlaw either. Their Harris County is good.
The Outlaw is all I have seen from Yellow Rose, and it was not in any way good. I would hope they have some better products. I'll keep an eye out for Harris County. Thanks
Thanks for the info! We'll keep an eye out for that one and give it a try. Thank you for watching!
I just noticed y'all have 100 subscribers. Congratulations!!! 👏 "Movin on up"!
Thanks! A mile stone, a small mile stone, but a mile stone nonetheless
