We took Archer "the 4 wheel drive expert" this year. He really enjoys being out on the trail and having a good adventure. We were learning how to film having him with us and did not catch as much footage as usual this year. I love the view of the Colorado River as you are entering and leaving this trail.

On day 2 at Redbird we start out on some of the easy trails behind the power line hill. Then we go over and start on Badge of Honor Trail 2X. Fortunately August had been dry and the trail was not horribly muddy. I still manage to get stuck in the mud and fall into one of the bigger mud puddles. By the time we left the park I had mostly dried out, but I have decided to carry a clean set of cloth...

On our first day at Redbird SRA we run 3 of the Jeep Badge of Honor Trails. We run trails 3, 5, and 3X. It really put my navigation skills to the test. I use Gaia GPS and record trails as I go. After the 1st half of the day, navigating got easier as I filled in tracks. I had downloaded a couple tracks, but found the ones I recorded worked better for me. It had been dry for a while before we wen...

This is the first time I have taken my Jeep through Pritchett Canyon. It turned into a very challenging day. My power steering had gone out two days earlier. My front locker quit working on the first obstacle. Then on the way up yellow hill my ring and pinion started slipping and failed. I drove out about 15 miles with the front differential banging and grinding. It looks like it is time for so...

Yes. We started on the north side and went south on the trail. When we came to the split in the road for the Wall it was very clearly marked that going to the wall was more difficult and required additional equipment.

We were on the Alpine Loop a few days after this video was shot and our rental company wouldn’t allow their jeeps on Poughkeepsie and certainly see why. Hwy 110 out of Silverton and up to the start of Poughkeepsie was probably the best 4 wheeling I’ve ever done. Fantastic video and thanks for sharing ❤

The section of this trail with the Wall was the most challenging part of any trail we found on this trip. We did not take the time to go through the bypass, but I think a stock rig could get through very easy with the bypass. The difficult trail to the wall is very clearly marked when you get to the bypass.

Really the Range Rover is pretty amazing for 5 reasons: 1. Its about a decade older than the Jeep and Bronco. 2. Its doesnt have axle diff locks like they both do. 3. Its on low pro tires and regardless of type they don't get much longer when you air them down. 4. Its tows the same of the Bronco and much more than the Jeep. 5. Its road handling is much better than both. Now if you're a dedicated off-roader the Jeep and the Bronco are better when the going gets tougher beyond the Land Rover's traction control aid and the lack of articulation that it has with fully independent air suspension. Still considering the five things I named (especially the first 1st and 2nd ones) it's pretty damn good and when going on things that the Jeep and Bronco mad look as if you need a Jeep or Bronco to do then this fancy little Range Rover walks right up it. Now imagine if you put aftermarket lockers and found a way to put much thicker rubber on the Range Rover...

i replied to another comment by you but the RRS has up to 2 diff locks, one center and one optionally in the rear. It was actually the Discovery 2 that controversially didn't have a diff lock (the Range Rover-based Disco 1 did) and only relied on traction control. That was changed in 2004MY Disco 2's, and all subsequent LR3 models (that the Sport is based on) all had center diff locks standard.

@@joshxkerrigan yeah they better have a center lock because that would be ridiculous making it just all wheel drive with low range haha I know the Center lock isn't like a traditional transfer case but the end result is the same front and rear drive shafts locked together no big deal
