Even though you are allowing the mother in law to your house and she has given you monies she took from you and your child in the past I feel a Leopard doesn't change its spots that easy,your daughter is venerable and can be convinced of anything,talk to her and be alert of daughter demeanor,if it changes you will understand what I am saying,lots of love.
