another way of doing it would be to climb back down the ladder and control the fall manually, but who am i to complain, at least you didn't do the stomp-y-stamp and the fixture was saved (minus the diffuser LOL)

Most of these LED retrofits don't do well in closed fixtures. Some aren't even rated for it, though people still use them for closed fixtures all the time.

En die nieuwe troep zou beter voor het milieu zijn, niet dus. Als je alle kosten (9 - 15 euro ps) en materialen voor een PL-L voor 15 jaar gebruik vergelijkt met zo'n led retrofit die laten we zeggen 3 jaar meegaat dan is het kwa kosten en materialen al snel beter om PL-L te gebruiken aangezien je 5 led retrofits nodig hebt om 15 jaar vol te houden. Kortom, nieuwer is niet altijd beter.

Hello, yesterday I replaced a Philips cfl genie 3U 11w fluorescent lamp from 2006 in a ceiling lamp with a 1xE27 lamp, it had been there since 2011 and it works! 2024 will be in the light sources collection. In its place there is an E27 2.2W 250 lm 2700'k LED, designed to last 5 years from Diall.🎉

O, het milieu! Dat kan echt niet, die oude milieu onvriendelijke lampen van je! Was gisteren trouwens bij een bedrijf die nog een mooie collectie/voorraad oude types lampen hadden. Natuurlijk nieuw in verpakking hè! Oude voorraad....

Hello, there is a blackness on the ends of the newly purchased fluorescent lamps, what do you think is the reason for this? (I bought two different brands, the situation was almost the same for all of them.)

that thing is in dire need of new tombstones and a new diffuser. although i do like the aesthetic of dilapidation like that. the CBD where i live has a bunch of dilapidated flouro's full of bugs, some don't work some have jammed starters but the ones that do still provide a decent amount of light. LED's will turn up eventually, spoiling the atmosphere of the place completely.

Of course Mr McLamps went and did a shoot there a day or two ago, fantastic lights, I think it's probably one of the most beautiful streets in Holland, it has something special and what makes it special is the fluorescent lights and SOX! does he have HPS or not at all?

Don't do this man. These things often end with a bang. The specsheet warns for this, saying you should never run them outside an enclosed fixture, not even for testing.

Hi i'm viatron from Sheffield, well I remember the old monochromatic yellow light shining on our streets here in the u.k. back in the past via they now being all replaced by the new state of the art L.E.D. street lighting. But saving the old sodium street lanterns does bring back true memories through the decades as long you remember these types still in existence for the future. Thank you for your co-operation on this very special tribute to the old sodium street lights of the past subject from David Viatron Esquire of crookes in Sheffield.

nice to see that sox bulbs are still replaced and thatthe fixture still uses its original SO ballast. which still works.
