I went into depth with this verb because I believe it is important for beginners to have a comprehensive explanation of conjugating verbs. The verb 'ser' is also one of the most used verbs. I am also sequencing these videos as the topics are presented in a regular college course. In essence, this channel is like a course where we start at the beginning and progressively cover more complex topics. There are a few words for car in Spanish. In Latin America the tendency is to use 'el carro'. In Spain 'el coche'. Some speakers of Spanish will also use 'el auto' or 'el automóvil'. You will often find this is the case for many words. For example, there are many words for 'pen': la pluma, el boli, el bolígrafo, el lapicero, la lapicera, la birome, etc.... Variety is the spice of life.

I think you are referring to Portuguese. In Portuguese: the word = "a palavra' / a word = 'uma palavra'. In Spanish: the word = 'la palabra'

Thanks for your comment. To say that it is pronounced wrong is inaccurate. Since Spanish is such a widely spoken language there are many variations in pronunciation, vocabulary and even some grammatical elements. In Latin America many speakers pronounce 'yo' as you are describing with a 'j' sound something like 'Jo'. especially in the southern part. Many others in Spain and Latin America pronounce 'yo' as I do in the video. It is up to the learner to decide what variety of Spanish they want to learn. I try to stick to standard Latin American Spanish but I also like to mention elements from other varieties of Spanish at times. If you are looking for a certain type of Spanish then I'm sure you find it on UA-cam. Best wishes to you as you learn Spanish.
