      @stiofanram6371 Haha glad you enjoyed the video! The KONA is fun and definitely reliable. Its been daily driven for years and running strong with basic maintenance. I force a mandatory oil change every 4000KM (since I come from performance cars) but you can probably wait a bit longer. We only managed to put in about 44,000KM so far (surprisingly) but the KONA hasn't visited a mechanic or dealership for repairs at all. Everything runs very well and everything still works. Going to need to change the cabin filter but thats about it and its only like $10.

    If I get a catted uel headers and no codes pop up. No tune “required”, would it still void warranty?

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial 3 місяці тому

      @thickestofpapi Most likely. Whenever you get service done to your car, they will see the headers, and they can hear it. Even if they don't void your warranty after service, which is possible, they will definitely void it if anything went wrong with your engine or ECU. UEL's will be there reason for your cars issues.

    Read up on the Magnuson act. If you put on lowering springs and your struts get blown out you are at fault. Lowering springs don’t cause your engine to fail if it ever does.

      Not american

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial 3 місяці тому

      @lazymarine4890 Lowering springs that drop your vehicle more than an 1" on OEM parts have a slight chance of damaging your struts but it won't void the warranty for the entire vehicle. It would only void the warranty for the part that gets damaged from what I heard. That's with every modification.

    Considering that the only bolt-ons that actually add power are cat-delete headers and flashing the ECU, I'd consider this discussion closed by now.

    Hi ya AeroWolf - I loved this video. It gives perspective of what to expect from a rear-wheel drive BRZ. I owned a 280ZX in Denver, Colorado and too often had to drive in the snow so I know exactly what you are going through - lol. I mean, it was a lot of fun when there were no other cars around but get in traffic and the rear end goes out and expect deep trouble. I grew up in Northern Ohio, so I have a lot of experience driving in the snow. I am in the process of buying a BRZ but after watching this video, I will NOT be driving in the snow. Thanks for this video - very enlightening - stay safe and healthy!!!

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial 6 місяців тому

      Oh wow! 280z is nice! Honestly, these cars are good in the snow. Better than most RWD cars especially since its lightweight. You just need winter tires. Proper winter tires. Something a bit pricy with good grip. I know others who winter drive these cars and they say it handles and performs perfectly fine. I, unfortunately, don't have winters. I have All-Seasons which isnt great for snow. It works as you can see but not much LOL Thank you for the thoughtful words and I hope you also stay safe and healthy! :) I hope you get your BRZ soon and enjoy it as much as you can!

    Hey, I just got my BRZ and I want to put this one on it will it be any problem with warranty? BRZ MBRP Cat-Back, Dual Rear Exit Exhaust, S48043CF My dealer told me I have to change it back if I want to use factory service please give me some advise, thanks 😊

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial 7 місяців тому

      Honestly, it should be 100% fine. It should NOT void any kind of warranty. I don't have a catback, but even with my muffler delete (axle-back), they don't say anything when I take it in for service. Exhausts usually can't cause any damage to your car, especially expensive and trustworthy brands. Maybe go to a different Subaru dealership. Ask them if its okay, and if it is, get service from them instead. Your dealer makes no sense because removing the exhaust and installing the original over and over again is painful work. Also, keep the OEM exhaust at all costs. You can sell the wheels but don't sell anything else on the car, especially the exhaust.

      @@Aerowolfofficial thanks for the advices. I’ll keep it mind. Just want to double check if that will mess up my warranty form Subaru, I’m so afraid of the RTV and they say I won’t be able to have warranty because of that exhaust.😭

      @Aerowolfofficial 7 місяців тому

      @user-yv7xs1oz4j No problem! I am also afraid of the RTV issues, but some people say that the excessive RTV isn't too bad on most of these cars and causes no real damage. I don't know how true that is, but I actually don't see anyone posting about the GR86's or BRZ's breaking down due to it. Nice mang! Im also running all seasons on my GR86 (Conti DWS06+) and it did surprisingly well in light snow/ice. All seasons will not excel in extreme hot/cold and will have its limits. So the real challenge is to understand the limits of your tire grip and how to counter steer oversteer. This is the best time to find an empty lot, turn on Track mode, and just do donuts to get use to oversteer (What causes it, and how to correct it). Winter tires should mostly be superior to all-season tires because the tire compound/tread is built for that single purpose and has a higher grip limit, where as an all-season is multi-purpose and will have a lower limit. Glad the BRZ made it safe!

      Great info for anyone who is watching! I may pin it so others can get the info. This is why next year, I'll get winters. I have a bit of experience in sliding cars since I used to slide the 370z, Genesis Coupe, and my BRZ. Even some other cars like the Kona. It's fun. I've experienced it in the rain, snow, and during dry asphalt days. All of it was safely performed and with no one around. Its definitely something others should learn. But most people dont care or think its just "stunt driving".

      No. You'll be alright. Warranty may be voided however, if lets say something near the wheels gets damaged due to the spacers. Not that it makes any sense, but the dealerships may point and blame you for installing spacers, which may have caused the damage. Know what I mean? My advice is buy good quality spacers. Something race spec and can hold up to incredible pressure. It'll be safer for you in the long run anyways.

      I can see your POV on the matter. In a lot of cases, however, it's actually more secure to not have a key. Not all cars but some cars are very secure. Subaru is one of them. They are not impossible to break into (as some claim) but they have a lot of extra security programmed into each fob. You'd have to learn how to decode encrypted data and have the supplies to achieve a successful theft. While a key requires brute force and some lessons on hotwiring. But again, I see your point. Keyless entry is more discrete most of the time. That's why so many Lexus models and Dodge models get stolen with ease.

      Don't even get me started with the KIA's and The Hyundai's. It is so tragic to the owners of those cars. I know with time these keyfobs will become more secure but this also means that this gives more time for hackers to find new ways to hack into these keyfobs. @@Aerowolfofficial

    Just drove both of the 2023 models. Coming from a manual gen 1 brz, the manual brz got so much better and is way more enjoyable to drive imo. It feels very refined and smooth vs the automatic which feels sluggish when you upshift or downshift, not to mention that auto does not let you down shift when you will endup higher then ~5-6k in the rpm range - I couldnt really dial it in during the test drive but I did not enjoy it enough to spend my money on it, even though it was available from my local dealer for a very good deal.

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial Рік тому

      I'm glad to hear about your experiences. The manual BRZ can be fun for sure. Haven't had a chance to try it, unfortunately, but I heard good things about it. I miss manual, but I found the BRZ's auto to be quite good compared to the other cars i've owned. If you're racing/tracking the car, I can see your point of view with the downshifts. But as a daily driven car, you'll never downshift from 5K realistically. I will redo this video eventually and go more in-depth with it. Don't want to write too much here. But thanks for your opinion and experience! Hopefully, it helps others determine what they'd want.

  • @chancewoodside5035

    I know they say 100 meters but man mine doesn’t seem to actually relay anything to the car unless I’m within 20 feet literally no more than that or it’s a gamble

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial Рік тому

      Yeah, I believe Subaru and Toyota have shortened the range of their fobs. I walk across the street from the car, and it's still fairly close, but I can't use the fob on it. But that's the best part and I am glad they did this. Even with that in place, I still prefer the extra security of the fob pouch and turning off the fob itself.

  • @RacoonCityNative
    @RacoonCityNative Рік тому

    Owners should also know that the factory alarm isn’t actually set and the dealer probably didn’t set it either. Page 81 in the owners manual tells you how to activate it/deactivate (GR86) not sure about the BRZ. I was surprised literally went a year without knowing it wasn’t set.

    Every new car uses rolling code for the anti theft. Transmitters will pick up the signal but it will not match the car. So it wouldnt unlock. I have the flipper zero and can confirm it doesn’t work on my 17 STI but does work on my 04 GS300

    I want to hope that Subaru and Toyota are aware of this. I own a 23 and the signal range on the keyfob is horrendous. I can walk 10FT from the car with the fob in my pocket and it doesn't take unlock commands. I believe they cut down a lot on the signal range to counteract this issue on newer gens. Thanks for posting this vid though.

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial Рік тому

      No problem! Yes, I know what you mean. I noticed I can't lock the BRZ unless I spam the key fob from like 10 ft away. Its very frustrating. But I can see this being beneficial. Honestly, it's better to be safe than sorry. I am glad to add these extra barriers to my car just incase.

      I'm glad you like em. No, they aren't mud guards from my knowledge. Subaru calls them "Under Spoilers." This ones not from Subaru, but its a replica of their STI Lip Kit. It's a strange piece, but it does make the car look a lot better, in my opinion.
