They look great🌟
Try a different variety.
Yes, I am going for Mursaki sweet potatoes this year, ordered from Gurneys.
I call the Korean sweet potatoes “dessert potatoes.” I’ll make extra and just eat them cold straight from the fridge. Lot fewer calories than Ben & Jerry’s 😉
They are sooooo good!
Oranges and apples. I’m so jealous of those peaches haha
I want to grow apples too. That's my next fruit tree buy. Any pointers?
Thanks For Sharing
I did this for the first time, and 3 heads came back ❤
Isn't it amazing! I'm still eating cabbage from last fall year because of this technique.
Let them grow crazy until they turn brown...that helps the roots of the asparagus..
Thanks!
Baby you be proud of them first i got my first broccoli last year 3 nice size heads so congratulations
Thank you! I'm growing broccoli this Spring. Wish me luck! 💗
Op
@@starrbabyhomestead much luck wish me some too b cuz this will be the first time I try to do spring broccoli and cauliflower 😁
I think your tree is going to do well, but it may take a few seasons. I've pruned a some that were in similar condition and it's kind of daunting the first time. As a general rule I've read and heard from multiple sources that it's good to limit pruning to about 1/3 of the branches and not get carried away. That has worked well for me. That way you can also monitor how the tree reacts and make adjustments next year. I'm also a big believer in mulching -- it saves a lot of work and creates a nice environment for the root system, conserves water, maintains soil temperature, etc. I hope you enjoy the peaches!
Thank you for the info. Hopefully, I didn't prune it too much. Fingers crossed!
We love strawberries! I need to go to our local nursey and see if there's strawberries available yet. What zone are you in?
Zone 8!
I love starting seeds. I have more to start in about week. Waiting for my haul to get here. I have a grow station in my basement now. I used to start them back a window and mine was getting leggy. When I saw that they were getting leggy, I just potted them deeper. I don't prick mine out. I put 2 seeds in each cell on opposite sides. Love the video🍅🧅🥦
This is my first time pricking out. If it becomes too much of a hassle I'm just going to multisow and thin out. LOL
@@starrbabyhomestead Lol!! I hear you on that. Just see what works best for you.
At least you scored before the warning 😊 Have a wonderful day 🙏

Hello. Tfs. I would love to take out our hedges, but my hubby would have a fit. He.hasnthenfront lawn and I have the back sort of 😅. Happy gardening
Have you dealt with soft rot before? Any suggestions or tips?
That is a lattice. hehe
Beautiful video 🌱
Love the idea with leaving hedges on the ends but yeah not a fan either of so much hedging right by the home like. Lol and I agree get those Ivy's out lol it'll look much nicer.
Thanks for sharing this video with us. Your Homestead is looking good. You are getting it together. I am with you on the dry skin. Yes wear those gloves. Nail looks great. Have a blessed day
Your videos are a work of art, my friend. The dedication to your craft and the stories you tell are truly commendable. And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
Great Idea I will try it myself What is your zone I saw you put a cover
How big do the secondary heads get?
Depends on the size cabbage you grow. Mine are small, a bit bigger than a soft ball. I get a bunch of mini heads between Brussels size and plums.
@@starrbabyhomestead Thank you. That would be worth the effort, which is basically zero, to get a few small ones.
Those cabbage looks really good. Thanks for sharing your garden with us. Happy gardening

Hey Friend good to see ya. RIP Tomatoes just too cold. I'm growing Onions, Garlic, and Brassicas, tfs
Heya! Good to hear from you.
I did much better when I planted the potato instead of slip. I just saved some from my harvest and planted them the following year. They need 4-5 months to grow. Still not bad for your first try.😊
Congratulations on ur first harvest. Cabbage looks yummy too.
Not a bad harvest at all😊
I think you had the wrong soil aswell also next put it in grow bags as I think your bed was too small...also U need to water them... You can grow starter's by putting one or two of those tubers in water but not alot just so it is say 1/3 up the container and keep it with eater tub will start growing off shoots pull them off they have grown tall say 6 inches or more then break then place in bottle with water so they get roots for next season... But read person telling you wrong soil aswell...below...best of luck next year...I am having Sumner now...❤❤❤
New subbie. Im aslo trying to grow sweet potatoes. Im in florida zone 9b, not sure when our frost will hit, maybe feb..nonetheless 🤔 1st sweet pot harvest was a fail, now working on 2nd go round. Tfs.
Too much nitrogen, horse manure is high in .... the first commenter (about bone meal, etc is right on track). Good luck going forward
Planted too late. At least a 6month crop
How to grow sweet potato please take the video love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳
With month harvest sweet patato please reply
Before Fall frost in your area.
Well done loyal and faithful servant that bites size sweet potatoes. Happy Fall Days and Thanksgiving
Hi there. On the sweet potato question--you mentioned you planted the slips in manure. That is a growing medium that is heavily weighted to nitrogen. Sweet potatoes do not need nitrogen--they DO need phosphorous and potassium. When you plant slips next year, add BONE MEAL (not blood meal), potash, and for extra root growth boost, mycorrhizal and langbeinite. Sweet potatoes handle being left alone quite well--if you are in drought, you do need to water, but not excessively. Your soil looked pretty loose, but you might want to amend it with some peat moss and perlite--nice loamy soil will allow the tubers to grow unencumbered and swell nicely for nice sized baking tubers. Good luck next year--I am jealous that you are still able to grow cool weather crops into November. I am in zone 5a upstate NY--my beds have been empty and winter prepped for a month. Happy gardening!
Thank you so much for the advice! I love sweet potatoes so I hope to have a better crop next year.
Glad you mentioned this. I was going to mention the soil was too heavy in nitrogen.
Hi , can you please tell me how to get slips from a sweet potato. I live in Scotland and zone 6. Tks
Your fall plants are looking good. 🌞I'm a new subscriber.
Thank you and Welcome!
Hope you saved some of the seeds. Sugar baby watermelon can be grown in a container. They are personal size. tfs
Good morning Star, I planted lots of collards, mustard, garlic, turnips, sweet potatoes and onions. Never planted sweet potatoes before. They're still in the ground. I'm going to wait until the end of November..hopefully I'll get some nice ones
Hi, I just found your channel! Your garden is looking awesome! I will be following you along this growing season 🤗 Take Care ~Nicole 🌱🙏🏽💜
Hi there! Thanks for watching. 💗
" when it's not hot as hell, we have storms" 😂 I can 1000% relate. It's the same here in Texas. I love that you named your homestead after your rescue pup. Our ranch is named after our first rescue horse. We have 4 rescue horses & 7 dogs ( 5 are rescues lol) For the 🍉 I harvest once the stem is really brown and dry & when there is a nice yellow field spot on the bottom. Everything looks fantastic. New friend here, thanks for sharing.
Rescues are the best! I thing that watermelon is just about ready.
