Great description Bec. What a great achievement
Awesome video! I wonder if we pumped into each other, as my mate and I did it in January this year too!
@@paulstephen_ ohhh maybe!! There were a few people about that we spoke to!!
Wonderful, I went with two others on the first week of June 24. You brought back many memories of the trip. All the way through I was saying to myself... I remember that😁... Constantly. Lol. We also went South to north. Our trip was rain free but extremely icy, microspikes came in very handy. Again, fantastic captures. Well done ❤
Looks quite dangerous, but worth it for the views.
@@JohmScriv yes can be quite dangerous! But we went in prepared and trained ready for it 🤠.. the views were stunning!!
I wanted to see your thumb like at 100. So there you go. Great video
@@ICTBKco Thank you 🤠🤠🤠🤠
@@ICTBKco first time reaching 100 🤪😄
@becandthekids haha better then my efforts. I want to climb this mountain. Are you guys seasoned mountaineers or is the exposed section not as exposed as it looks on everyone's footage?
Fabulous trip Bec! Well done!! You scaring me the final climb ;)
@@muchomumbo haha yrh the final climb sure raised some hairs!!
I love watching all your adventures
@@CherylYoung-n8i thanks! Glad you enjoyed 😃
Brings back memories . You have done a fantastic job making this video.
@@brettgamon814 thank you 🤠
Great video what a fantastic trip !!
@@benwebb3533 thank you 😁
Great Video. The booking system in Tassie seems to have a lot of faults. I understand people get delayed, snowed in or slower with injuries, but imagine if those huts couldn't cater, regardless of bookings. I need to do this, only done a few further south. One hike I did, was so cold overnight, my eye lids were frozen shut when I woke up.
@@cptlooney thank you 🤠
Looks like it was clouded out at Pelion Gap...what a pity
@@martyfelber6102 yeh it was 😅
How long until PWS introduce a fee for June to August? 40 people in a hut is simply putrid. YUK. Its actually not great for the facilities either as they are not being serviced anywhere near as often. Most Rangers are on leave.
It sure was a surprise to see so many people out on the track at that time of year. I would saybits not like that every week during winter season. School holidays may have played a part.
Such a wonderful video. I love how you go in search of the waterfalls a long the track not just the couple of better known ones. So interesting to watch.
Thank you! Its such an incredible area to be able to explore!
Supposed to do South/North early next month but I think I'll give it a wide berth. Possibility of too many people is a real turn off.
I don't think this is the usual. We were in school holidays. Friends have done at the same time and noone on track. Luck of the draw I guess.
Disappointing to see it overloaded like a prison cell...jack thwaites and Gustav Weindorfer would be turning over in their graves right now....shame on you PWS...give the country a fkn break.....nice video bec, where was my invite lol 😆 I was there in 2022 watching the two new huts get built looks like I'll be in no rush to see it as it's like a tin full of sardines.....great video it's a magic spot but it's so over rated now.....
Wow - great scenery, love that water falls - booking agents need a hand. You can keep the ice 🥶 brrrr 😅 thanks for the video - lovely adventure 🤗
Thank you 🤠.. it actually wasn't too cold!!
another magnificent adventure. Thanks for the video.
Thank you 🤠
Thanks for posting. These huts look so clean and tidy, I imagine it would be manky with all the other people!
They actually werent too bad with all the other people! But the huts are still quite new... may be different in a few more years 🫠🤠
Well done, that’s a tough gig 💪
Thank you! 5 months on and the feeling is still surreal!! 🤠
Great vid :D When I climbed it looked in the log book up the top saw one entry that said, it was easy we didn't even bother to take our packs off.. just goes to show no matter where you go there is always one...
Thank you!! Its an amazing part of tas thats for sure!!!
Your videos are so inspiring and informative. I hoping to do the overland track next year 2025 if everything goes well. It's funny, all the videos people post of the overland, they don't show any of the waterfalls in waterfall valley. I kept wondering why it was called Waterfall Valley hut, so now I know thank you.
Well done. I did Lake Rhona earlier this year with my son and the Tassie wilderness is amazing. Not sure about some of the climbs you did! Ouch, very scary. I’ll have to organise a group climb like you guys did.
Its lovely to go in groups! And i agree! Tassie is amazing 😁
Loved this video. I climbed Mt Anne three times in the 1980s and 1990s, and it's a favourite southwest spot for me. A highlight of one of the trips was climbing from Sandfly Creek to the Northeast Ridge (hopping past the sinkholes) and then onto the Anne summit from the other side of the mountain. Good times!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sandfly creek to the northeast ridge sounds like an incredible adventure!!
An enjoyable presentation thanks Bec. We aimed to get to LW on a day trip from Shelf Camp but found the going too slow. Made it to Mt Lot, though, which is no mean feat.
Thank you! I can't wait to get back up there and try for LW again! Such a stunning peak!!
Well done all of you! You must be fit to complete that walk in that short time. Our party (in 1982) took 9 days; 3 in from SPD, 3 camped at HL and 3 out via the YoYo Track. It's certainly an achievement you'll remember forever!
Thank you! Months on and im still in disbelief! This memory will be forever cherished! 🤠💚 it certainly was tough going in and out so quick!
Just had a bout of vertigo in the lounge room. Cool trip! 👍
Thanks 😃🤠
Loved your video! I have wonderful memories of the trip in and out of Lake Oberon in Jan 2024 - it’s lovely seeing your group complete the journey
Thank you! We sure scored lucky with the Jan weather!!! Glad you had a womderful trip also!! 🤠
Wow !!! Your video is amazing 😍. Thank you for sharing with us and this giving me more tips when i’m ready for doing this trip.
Thank you! So glad to be able to be helpful 🤠
Oh my gosh 😍😍. How happy i am to be able to find your youtube channel with all your videos taking your kids to this trail. They are legends, you all are!!! What a great adventure family ! I have been watching many overland hike videos but haven’t see any with kids till i found yours. I love Tassie so much! Been living in Victoria for almost 15 years now and we have a daughter just turned 8. We did a lot of day hike kind of thing but never over night and i really like to take my daughter to do more hikes and in to overnight hikes. When i was younger my overnight were rough in Sumatra -Indonesia but not as rough like here (weather wise). Been back to Tassie few times, last trip was Sep last year (2023) . Really looking forward to our next trip. Thank you for sharing and great jobs to you all guys! ❤❤
Oh thank you so much!!! You are so kind!!! Im so glad you enjoyed our videos! Will be sure to tell the kids!! I hope you enjoy your next adventure! 🤠
Great job by all of you. If you dont mind my asking, had the girls done a lot of overnight walking in preparation? Planning to take my 10 and 11 year olds on the Overland one day.
Hi! I definitely don't mind at all! They had done a few overnighters, but not any multiday hikes prior. They had done many full big day hikes though! Kids have so much more energy than adults! They are definitely quicker to complain etc but when we got into the hut each night... 5 minutes of rest and they were full.of beans again! I have no regrets! I knew they were ready and this was honestly one of the best things I have done with them! Memories I will cherish forever!!
How do you personally feel about the flooding of Lake Pedder? Isn't that one of the saddest things what they possibly could have done to the area :'( it's now more then ever the time to restore the original lake. Great video
A great presentation enjoyed by this 82 year old as a memory tickler thanks to U Tube. { beats a slide presentation hands down} First visited area in 1967 when the Scotts Peak Road was only just started at Frodshams Pass so we had to bash our way to Condominium Creek the old fashioned way by Shanks Pony. Been back 3 times ,the last Solo climb of Anne November 1985 but regrettably missed doing the Circuit. Several trips up Schnells ridge, Lake Judd, Arthurs and Lake Timk under Lots Wife. Keep up the good work with your blogs.😁
Oh wow! Your adventures sound amazing!! I'm so glad this video has served as a memory tickler!! It is such a beautiful and stunning part of Tasmania! I Look forward to many more adventures into the region! ❤
Good on you for NOT climbing Lots Wife! I can hear the angst in your voice at 18:21 and also later on about the failed attempt to summit LW. YES, its frustrating to get ALL the way there only not to achieve the peak but there are more important things in life (family) than conquering a lump of rock and to risk serious injury.....lets face it..one slip and your dead around there. P.S getting to the "plateau ridge " before Lots Wife through the jungle was a bit tricky!!! I found a few ways that the track got to the "plateau ridge"
Yes thats it! Whilst I was sad about not summitting I would.muxh prefer to come home.safely amd not take uneccessary risks! Gives me something to work towards too! Looks like you also had a fabulous adventure in!!
Love this , thanks Bec!
Thank you 🤠💚
Lots of memories of the Summit, Thanks Bec. I need to go back and do the Summit. That Camp site at the Lakes looks amazing.
The lonely tarns camp site was so beautiful! 🤠
Had planned doing circuit solo last year but backed out. Your video gives great insight as to what's involved and inspired to have a crack later this year...thanks!
Thank you! Enjoy your adventure later in the year 😁
Well done!! That's ace. My knees are still recovering from my trip in 2007 hehe. So sad to see flooded lake Pedder from up Anne, it looks as if someone left the tap running.
Thank you 😄
What a terrific video , you have shown Tasmania for what it is , one of the worlds most special places . I must say it’s one false move and you’re …………..type of country. You have all done extremely well.
Thank you! We sure are blessed in Tas!!
Nope, nope nope. Too much exposure for me.
Most of it was ok.. just a few hairy sections! 🤠
Great Effort Peps !! ⛰🧗♀
Thank you 😄 🤠
You certainly captured how exposed the climb is! My buddy and I also had a perfect day in Feb 2000, and I also burst into tears when I reached the top. I think we only took one photo on the way up, too scared to make any sudden moves.
I can fully appreciate ou taking one photo! Was certainly times of holding the breathe etc! Well done on your summit! Such a magical part of tasmania 😁
Wonderful video, nice to meet you on this trip too!
Thank you! Oh womderful! Can't tell who you are from your user name but I met so many really lovely people on this trip!! Added so much to the overall experience!
Im Bobby, was with my mate Ronan and Mat. Indeed was super lovely and everyone was so kind@@becandthekids
@nubn8484 Oh hi 👋 .. you boys were just the best! You should be so proud! And your parents should be too! Such lovely, well-mannered, and polite young men! Raised well!! Hope you guys avoided the rain and enjoyed the rest of your hike!!!
A fantastic effort all around guys! The Western Arthurs is such a ruggedly beautiful part of the world... but it makes you earn it every step of the way!
Sure does make you earn it! And the reward is completely worth it! Couldn't believe how stunning it was day in and day out!
Great vid!. You have been picking the gnarly walks of late, with fedders and this one, awesome effort.!!
Thank you 🤠.. the holidays sure have been well spent!!
@@becandthekids I only managed to get murchison in and a bit of exploring.
@@goldsniper2681 murchison would have been fabulous and exploring is always fun!!
Awesome video. Congratulations, what a great achievement. I had vertigo just watching!
Thank you!! 🤠💚
This video is excellent , I’d like to show it to our Bushwalking Club so they can see what a tough walk really looks like . Very impressive.
Thank you! I hope your bushwalking club enjoys the video and it gives them some good insight! Happy hiking 🤠
Great Video, thanks for sharing. Wow, WA and EA is such a short time Also, love the cover of Massive attacks Tear drop Fedders and Mt Anne wave each time you show them. Im sure you would see Frenchmans cap from there as well
Thank you! 🤠.. The holidays sure have been well spent!! A friend put me on to that cover! Emily Sanzaro does an amazing cover of it, doesn't she! She is very talented!
Awesome work
Thank you!!
Great filming of the final climb and a perfect day as well.
Thank you! We sure were blessed with the weather 🤠
Bloody hats off bec huge life achievement I'm so proud of you, I'm not sure if I could do it as I'm afraid of heights but seriously hats off good on you and the recording on those gaps proud as punch girl good onya xo 🥾🍻💪
Thank you! It still feels surreal atm!!
@@becandthekids was it sketchy like ild love to do it but is it what they make it sound like, surely the old boy can do it I can too but the fear of heights gets me worried lol 🤣😞
