Thank you for the video. I am currently testing the glue out and it’s working out great. Hopefully this is something my young son can use as he is getting into scale models and it odourless and seems safe. Do you know if their is any instructions about storing the glue? Do you just need to wipe the applicator and store in a cool dark place? Any advice would be great full I haven’t been able to find the answer online
Hi there! The manufacturer doesn’t provide specific storage instructions for this glue. However, like most adhesives, it’s best stored in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. Wiping the applicator after use is a good idea to keep it clean and functional. To better accommodate the Australian climate, future shipments of this glue will include a rubber cap for the needle, helping to preserve the glue for a much longer period of time aswell.
I have built a few of their kits now and the quality is great and as you say the Powerslide decals are absolutely first class. I haven’t splashed out on an Indycar yet as they even more expensive again than the NASCAR kits - as you say though new tools and licensing
Fyi this glue isn’t all that strong but good for scale buildings I guess
It clogged up the day after I used it, I have to unclog it every time I want to use it
So im a newbie when comes to model kits do you know how hard this kit could be for a new beginner i really love this ship but it does look a little complicated oh one more question would i need some glue to put it together or is it a kit that does require some anyways from a new subscriber 🦖👍🏻
Hey mate! Thanks for the support, and it’s great to hear you’re starting a new hobby. Just a heads-up, 1/700 scale ships can be challenging due to the tiny parts. If you’re new to building models, it might be better to start with something simpler, like a 1/72 scale aircraft that interests you. This will help you practice removing and cleaning up parts, as well as gluing and painting techniques. Once you’re comfortable, consider building a 1/350 scale destroyer before tackling the Gerald R. Ford. The Ford’s flight deck decals alone are a major undertaking, so it’s a great project to save for when you’ve built up your skills and confidence. For gluing, you’ll need plastic cement designed for model kits. Brands like Humbrol, Tamiya, and Revell are all great options, but we recommend the Deluxe Materials Precision Plastic Glue. It’s easy to handle, has almost no odor, and we’ve never had issues with the needle clogging, we were actually so impressed by it we did a video a few months back just on this glue. I hope this helps mate, remember at the end of the day, this is a hobby the main thing is you're enjoying the experience and having fun!
@ alrighty thanks for the feedback can’t wait to get to the ford I’ll probably start with a 1/72 scale jet aircraft I’ve been looking at😃👍🏻
Thanks for posting this video! Much appreciated. I'm grateful that distributors have started putting these kits on the shelves at hobby shops in Australia. I recently acquired two of the Salvinos NASCAR kits (the Blaney #12 shown in your video and the Kyle Larson #5 Valvoline car). Just started in on the Larson #5 and, with a little help from UA-cam, I think it is coming together well. I am trying to get as much as possible of the chassis/cage together, for painting, much like I was able to do with the Revell NASCAR kits. Nice kit, but I think I have to go slowly and carefully to get it done right. BTW, I often debated with myself whether it is Salvinos "Jay-Arr" or "Salvinos Junior".
I've got the same kit. But ive got the option with R.A.A.F. markings. I can see that this video was done 3 years ago. I can see the one you have got does not include R.A.A.F. markings.
These look fantastic. I have ordered 3801 and 3830, and I am looking forward to receiving them.
Such a great overview vid, thanks 👍
Thanks for the feedback, glad you found it helpful :)
They already look a million times better than the crap ARM HO Scale ones. Wish ARM put more effort into better quality
this is probably a given and im sure most know this but only good for plastic not resin :(
Looking forward for starcraf Siege Tank!!! ;-)
What?! Kurrwaaa! Are the gonna do Starcraft units as well?! 😯
Brilliant!
JU 290
On 26 May 1944, shortly after daybreak, a Hawker Sea Hurricane, piloted by Sub-lieutenant Burgham from the escort carrier HMS Nairana protecting a convoy, shot down Ju 290 (9V+FK) of FAGr 5 over the Bay of Biscay. The afternoon of the same day, Sub-lieutenants Mearns and Wallis attacked two more Ju 290s.
Really cool models.
They truly are, the detail is so impressive. Meng really did a first rate job on these kits!
I'm very happy to see Meng continue it's Dune kits and bring out larger versions of the earlier small scale ones as well as the Paul Atreides figure kit. Hopefully they will continue to produce more kits in addition to the larger spice miner and Harkonnen ornithopter just released. Love to see a figure kit of say the Baron or a Sand Worm diorama. I really liked the design of the new Harkonnen Ornithopter in the second Dune movie. I have the 1/72 Atreides Ornithopter in my stash. It would be nice if Hobbies Australia could bring in the X-plus kits as they are well designed SF and Fantasy kits as well.
The markings/decals on this kit are incorrect. The vehicles tactical sign would be a triangle, point down not a square as they were only used in the reconaissance role in the medum reconaissnce regt and the Armoured Centre. The tactical sign for a recon regt is the point down triangle. I can't for sure recall the Armoured Centre marking but I wanna say they also used the recon triangle. Recon regiments that used the MRV included 2 Cav (regular army), 3/9 SAMR (South Australian Mounted Rifles), 12/16 Hunter River Lancers and possibly other ARes (Army Reserve) regiments/squadrons. The callsigns for these vehicles in would be: 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B, 13A, 13B - A Squadron 21A, 21B, 22A, 22B, 23A, 23B - B Squadron 31A, 31B, 32A, 32B, 33A, 33B - C Squadron The first digit denotes the squadron, the second digit is the troop, and the alphabetic character the vehicle's position within the troop. So 22B is the troop corporal's vehicle in 2 Troop B Squadron. The other callsigns in troop are as follows, I'll use 2 Troop B Squadron as that was my squadron. 22 LRV - Troop Leader 22A MRV - Troop Seargent 22B MRV - Troop Corporal 22C LRV - L/Cpl or senior Digger 22D APC L/Cpl or senior Digger - this vehicle carried a the Assault Section. There was no difference between an LRV and an APC other than role. In the early days of the M113AS1 the APC carried two .30 cal MGs in the T-50 Turret, and the LRV carried a .30 and a .50 in the turrent, but in the later years the APC and the LRV both carried the .30/.50 combo. 22E - The Assault Section's callsign, mainly used when dismounted. Assault Troopers ("Salties" or "Veggies") were RAAC troopers and NCOs trained in a disomount role. The Assault Section was led by a corporal with a lance corporal 2IC. Assault Secions were/are mainly used for dismounted reconaissance but could also act in an infantry or assault pioneer capacity. Every Sabre (Recon) troop had an Assault Section (on paper) and each squadron had an Assault Troop ( 3 assault sections and a HQ elelment), again on paper, so in theory every Medium Recon Squadron had the equivilant of two infantry platoons.
The thing about the track shrouds on sprue R compared to "normal" track shrouds is that they are cut down, the bottom edge of the "rubber" does not come down to the bottom of the "aluminium" part on each end. This eases servicing at the cost of slight (at least theoretical) degredation of amphibious performance and maybe a little more dust when driving. As far as I know all Aussie M113AS1 series vehicles from the 80s and 90s had these cut down shrouds. One fault with this kit is the vehicle is not an M113A1. Australian M113s were properly called M113AS1, M113AS4. And Aussie Leopards were Leopard AS1. 'AS' being a NATO country code for Australia.
I had no idea the RAAF flew the Mariner.
I’m building it now and have nearly finished the hull and will be starting on the turret.
Awesome Stuff! How have you found the build so far?
Junk. Used it once and the needle was blocked.
bro tell the truth, your the product owner🤣
We are not the product owner but the Australian distributor for Deluxe Materials. Our goal is to provide honest reviews and share our experiences with products we believe in. If we don't believe in the product and use it ourselves in our own personal hobbies, we do not feature it on our youtube channel, simple as that.
What is the smell like when using these indoors?
It does have an odour, but not unpleasant or over-powering. Prolonged use you should be wearing some form of filter mask and or spray booth set up!
@@HobbiesAustraliaTV Great to know, thanks :-)
Beautiful
Glad I watched this. Very disappointed in Academy. No way I would pay that price for such a low quality kit. C'mon Academy.

Hey Jeff, you can find it on their website here: deluxematerials.co.uk/products/precision-plastic-glue-25ml?_pos=1&_sid=8ed5bbd05&_ss=r As to where you might be able to purchase for yourself, I would check any of your local hobby stores :)
Good review
Nice!.. I know Revell had a 1/32 F-4E Phantom in the 70's 👍✈️
Nice one mate👍.. I didn't know the RAAF operated these planes.. thanks from across the ditch ✈️🇳🇿
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed :)
@@HobbiesAustraliaTV When Flight 19 went missing in the Bermuda Triangle (5 Grumman Avengers) the Martin Mariner search plane went missing aa well! .. weird place I wonder if it will will ever be solved? ✈️🤔
Should've did Aus decals for 37sqdrn white and grey instead .
such a good video, but phones and people in the back ground make its annoying
It annoyed us too! we've made changes to avoid this nowadays :)

Yes, nice, however when I spent time at the Armoured Center at Pucka, I drove bothe the old Saladin Turret 'bucket' and the 1st derivitive of the Saracen Turret 'bucket', bother were a bloody nightmare, lack of crew sace in the turret, and as for driving them , lets just say they waddled around, care not to roll them was needed. But this kit is welcome
I just recently discovered these kits and I've been wanting to do some C&C RA2 models and this just scratches that itch out of the box. Thanks for sharing and appreciate the RA2 mention as the line is obviously pulling from that game. Great and thorough, appreciate the work!
oh wow that is very tempting
N gauge great had some hard to get here nice to see again.
Wow hobby boss no Tristar kit no just remodelled boxed kit again, thanks for showing kit have all of them no need to get this one for collection.
Shame they don't include the turret interior/basket as they do for the kit with theT50 turret.
The old RAAC "buckets" bring back some memories
academy's figure has been awesome last couple of years
Glad one of the first things you mentioned was how to open it, I was kinda stumped.
What is the price for the product if so where can I get this precision glue for my model projects in the long run and the extra needle tool included. Do they have them in the States or abroad and or abroad else where if so what is the mailing address to order it.
hello. This kit will be avalible in ebay?
Hey Mate! Possibly you could find it there, however If you are from Australia I did a quick search and found some hobby stores who seem to have the kit in stock for you. @@HobbiesAustraliaTV unfortunetly I’m from Poland but I’m very interesting in RAAF.
that was a really good review. I've seen a couple of these built here on YT and they've been enough to spark interest in it. The tie downs seem a tad over the top and too big - especially in this scale, but at least they're there. Where did you get yours from?
Thanks for the kind words! We distribute Magic Factory and other brands in Australia, so when we get a kit in that we are really excited about and are really impressed with the quality and subject matter of the kit, we crack one of the kits open and do these videos to show the kits in more detail than you'll likely find elsewhere. Plus, Andrew would just be rambling on about the kits anyway so we may aswell film it😂 We would love one day to be able to do some build videos of the kits, however time is definitely an issue when we have so many awesome kits to show off!
