Every artist has a story. Every story has a beginning.
This is the UA-cam home of my podcast which can be found on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcast, and all other major platforms.
Journey to the Stage explores the winding pathways traveled by musicians, artists and songwriters, to gain insight into the music that has shaped who they are and the music they make. We highlight current projects by artists across genres, but always start our journey at the beginning.

Ep. 78: Malcolm Guite & Phil Keaggy discuss their new album "Songs & Sonnets"
I had the pleasure of sitting with Phil Keaggy and Malcolm Guite and discuss their brand new collaborative album, Songs and Sonnets. This special album is filled with the masterful poetry of Malcolm Guite, whose recitations add life to the the words he penned. The beautiful music Phil Keaggy created for each poem doesn't act as a mere backdrop for the poem, but it helps to create the atmosphere for the spoken words and enhances the listener's experience.
Songs and Sonnets is precisely the album the busy world needs. It's the album the racing soul and overextended man and woman needs. This collection of words and music is the pause button we all need. Malcolm, Phil and I discuss the backstory of several pieces, how the project came together, and we chat about friendship, art, Christ, and so much more.
In order to get the FULL package, which includes several bonus tracks, purchase the album here: philkeaggyfriends.bandcamp.com/album/strings-sonnets
A very special thanks to Phil and Malcolm, two of the most delightful men I've met as a podcaster. Thanks to Tom Gulotta for joining us and for putting together such a beautiful package. Subscribe where you're listening and if you enjoyed this episode, share it with your friends. Thanks you so much.
With over 3 million podcasts in existence, being an independent podcaster is VERY challenging, especially for a non-celebrity like me. If you would like to support Journey to the Stage with Bryan Frazier, please consider supporting on Patreon: www.patreon.com/JourneytotheStage

NEW Podcast Intro

The time had come to create a new and shorter intro to my podcast. This is actually the third intro. The first was all music, "Arise and Shine" by my buddy Chris Taylor who let me use the song for free. Then the second version had movie clips and recorded audio. A couple of friends said my name and my sons said "and our dad." I will miss it but it was time. I came up with the guitar riff for th...

The Dream Syndicate is one of the few bands that have been a part of starting a new movement in the Rock world. In this two part conversation, Steve Wynn and I track his personal musical journey, through his first band at 9 years old, a...

There are some bands that when you hear them for the first time, they just stop you in your tracks and draw you in. That's what happened the first time I heard Shannon Clark and the Sugar. I was honored to be joined by Shannon Clark, the bands vocalist and principle songwriter, for a great chat about music, struggle, and life. Shannon and I talk a bit about the band's history and how personal l...
