Being a slop jock doesn't really have dangers other than within bases on deployment from incoming rockets or mortars. I was a SQMS for a Regiment and some of the chefs rooms were shocking state, pizza boxes and pop bottles everywhere. All they did was if they weren't on shift they'll be on their PlayStations. If you're attached to an infantry Regiment you tend to be left alone unless you're selected for promotion however you must go on a promotion course(s) in my experience they tend to struggle due to lack of experience of personal field and infantry skills.
