Saber and conocer in Spanish - What's the difference?
Here you'll learn the difference between the verbs "saber" and "conocer" in Spanish. Both these verbs mean "to know" but they refer to different aspects of knowing. The short version: "saber" refers to facts, and "conocer" to people and places. Also, in the past, the verb "conocer" has a different meaning.

Never been able to trill my Rs by trying, although I know I can. Funny thing is it happened once by acident when speaking loudly to show i couldnt do it... lol, anyways... What else are you doing with ur tounge, ie not just the tip, is it wide, soft, taught, relaxed, pressed backward, slightly raised? side note: with my ttttts the rear-sides of my tounge is cupped against my molars and the tip rubbs against alveolar ridge to the palatine raphe (that vertical line just above the alveolar ridge)

      @@LearnSpanishwithDaniel Good nuance. There are a few other places in the world producing as much wine as la Mancha, but the area around Tomelloso also produces a lot of grape alcohol. In Spain lakes in plains are usually called 'lagunas' and lakes in mountainous or hilly areas are called 'lagos'. For their characteristics, these 15 lakes in the valley/gorge of the Guadiana are 'lagos' but, deviating from the norm, local people in La Mancha call them 'lagunas' and so they appear in most maps. Lagunas de Ruidera is the common name but Lagos de Ruidera is a more accurate description.

    It needs to be done Daniel. Europe wide, maybe worldwide. I have used airbnb many times in the past. When you used to rent one, you could tell the house was lived in, with the absent occupants possessions still dotted around the house. Now they are bought by REIT's, hedge funds, and wealthy landlords to rent out all year round. Where are the locals supposed to live? The very people who work in the restaurants and bars that these tourists use. The cities are becoming playgrounds for tourists at the expense of the locals. Massive problem in Dublin. Rome, Madrid, The Balearic Islands and the Canaries and beyond. The Canaries had protests here a few weeks back. People make 1000 euros a month and rent in Santa Cruz is 2000....It has to stop.

    • @LearnSpanishwithDaniel
      @LearnSpanishwithDaniel 2 місяці тому

      Yeah, I basically agree that it "has to be done"... I just have serious doubts that the current crop of politicians is going to actually do it. Thanks for listening!

    • @STEOKEO
      @STEOKEO 2 місяці тому

      @@LearnSpanishwithDaniel Oh for sure....let's see how it plays out. Aside from the housing stock issue in and of itself, perpetualyl airbnb'ing of a property ruins the lives of the people who live in those buildings all year round. Doors banging, parties, rattling of suitcases up and down stairs at all hours. Municipal entry doors being left open etc. Airbnb was a great idea but the law of unintended consequences has taken hold. It's a massive beast now. The ways it is being used now is not in the spirit of how the idea was originally conceived. It is pure corporate gluttony to the detriment of the "social contract" between people and the establishment.

    • @janegrassmarket1414
      @janegrassmarket1414 2 місяці тому

      @@STEOKEO That just about sums it up. "WHO ARE YOU?" is constantly on the residents minds especially when they come across the short stay strangers in a shared building creating sense of being exploited. Security drops quite a lot. The "guests" dont care who they let into a building behind them. Test them. Try to follow an Airbnb customer in and see if they question you. It's not their problem if they enable a vandal, drug user, burglar, temp bathroom hunter, dosser etc. I could go on.

    • @janegrassmarket1414
      @janegrassmarket1414 2 місяці тому

      @@LearnSpanishwithDaniel Does it depend on how many "friends" or "relatives" the politicians have involved? After all the operators can raise 5 times the long term rent. It's a no-brainer. Profits like this has to be enough for organised crime to consider taking over whole buildings. So tempting. Too late, I suppose for me to jump in and enjoy the passive income pour in to my bank account. I was very tempted 6 years ago, but I chose to sell up and move away from my Instagram area and find a modicum of peace. I could have been minimum $80,000 better off. What fool I was.
