"postcards from the everyday became my little reminders" beautifully said love that shot at 2:39 a remarkable video essay, thanks for sharing friend (:
Thanks for taking the time to say that, it means a lot ✨
Hi!!! I really liked the music in your video, how do you manage to put it without a copyright complain or something? Im in a desperate search for good music on my own videos :( any tips?
@@sofia.casado thank you! It’s actually my friends tracks, there are some sites out there where you pay a subscription for license free music, maybe some free ones too.
Regarding the advice given by the therapist to Andrea Gibson, by consciously choosing what we focus on, we can shape our responses to situations, build resilience, and pursue meaningful goals (especially those New Year's Eve resolutions). For example, focusing on gratitude can enhance well-being, even in hard times like the ones we are living. Lovely reflections and shots!
@@UndinesOcean I agree! it’s one of my favourite ideas, I really think it can shift our direction in life
Your video art makes me feel warm and dreamy 💕✨ You inspire the artist in me. Please keep making art. Been subscribed to your channel for a while now. It's a gem. Thank you!
@@parisa8431 thank you, the feedback is inspiring too 💌
all friends should stay in a street. Meet everyday. I love ya mate.
@@cursed_nerd love that sentiment!
Love it Narika, hold on
The Magnolia was my grandmother's, and is today my favorite tree.
Your videos popped up in my feed today. Now I'm binging on them. Liked and subscribed.
@@briansolomon2969 thank you 🫠
Wonderful! I don’t think anyone I’ve seen has your unique style of combining words and images to evoke feelings. There’s so much going on, it’s easy to watch your stuff multiple times and have each viewing be a deeper experience. I’ve caught the spark and dusted off my Olympus XA as my daily journal maker. Later today, I’m going to load up my S8 and start a filming. Keep creating.
@@gottanikoncamera thank you, this means a lot, I’m so glad you’re feeling inspired too- starting to shoot super 8 really gave me a spark for images again.
Film makes everything feel beautiful and real! This is gorgeous - great job
Thank you. Agree about film 💌
such beautiful composition. love your photos as well as the video. Keep making dope art :)
@@TPKProductions thank you ☺️
1:38 Oh my god, that's so true xD It's better now, I saw some... maybe podcast? where Todd Hido said that his advice is to turn your back to the house while taking long exposure photographs. At least in my case it was pretty helpful.
@ondradft9081 I watched some Todd Hido interviews recently, so great!
Lovely video. Subscribed.
This is great! Excellent to see an Australian video.
@@Dan_photo thank you!
Beautiful video! And yes, I wholeheartedly agree

This is one of the most real videos I’ve seen. I share your experiences with night photography. All the best in your creative endeavors!

I really loved both your “Archiving the Ordinary” film and your neighborhood walk piece. Not really a fan of Reels/Shorts; I never watch them though I am probably in the minority. Love what you’re doing with your channel.

Amazing! Everything about this makes me stop and think and feel something and want to do things better and differently tomorrow. What (or type of) writing course did you take?

Is this a repaint m3? Or the rarer one, if it’s painted curious to where u got it done
It's a repaint, I bought it second hand and the seller hadn't listed. But I know the Kanto repaints are great but I think they have a long wait. Also shuiedo do a beautiful job.
Looks beautiful.
thank you for this

Thank you for making this! I've watched this many times and keep finding new points every time. I love the creative style and how you've put this together.
@@arrow-from-the-sun thankyou!! It means so much. Definitely recommend the Rick Rubin book I'm quoting at the end as well, I've been constantly replaying parts of the audiobook while listening because it's full of so many well articulated ideas about creative process

@@aspenvo thankyou for saying that, I was sick for half of this recording but I didn't want to redo it and have it sound too scripted ☺️
chills down my spine, this is the first video i watched in months that actually had me stop in my tracks and think, "actually, no. I want to linger here awhile. Watch this video one more time, twice just for the measure. I need to remember this, this is worth remembering when i forgot more important stuff." Absolutely gorgeous editing, i adore the flow of the imageries, i adore how seamless and liquid your transitions from idea to idea feel, and i adore how sincere and bare your recounts of everyday moments are. wonderous work really, sitting to watch this video and listening to your revelations healed a part of my mind that i didn't quite know was broken. Thank you so much for creating and sharing your experiences, for your honest diary, and hope to see so many many more of your videos and photographs in the near future 💗💕💓
@@farimahzorriasatein7475 this is so so lovely. Thankyou for telling me, it feels weird putting personal thoughts out here but this reminds me why I want to share my experiences. I'm so glad it meant something for you. Thank you ✨
LOVED this so freaking much [Edit] "Buddy" was so right about you. being honest and vulnerable is what makes your art so good. i feel heard whenever i watch your videos
Thank you so much, it's really nice to hear 🧡
What a cool video!!! Love your art. This relates so much to my current writing, I realized only yesterday that as I was writing songs I would step back into the third person out of fear of relating the lyrics I had written to my current life and having to confront uncomfortable emotions. Only now am I realizing that the whole purpose of art is to confront and acknowledge our emotions and that the release is so much better when you’re honest with yourself. Keep doin what you’re doin!!! Love to see what you got coming down the line :)
@@mrblobifier thankyou! It means alot. Also I only started listening to the audiobook yesterday but rick Rubin's book the creative act-a way of being is really helpful for this, particularly for song writing practice, he talks specifically about the thing you just expressed, definitely recommend.
the photos are amazing!
@@strillos5096 that is so nice to hear, I've been feeling overwhelmed by the beauty in all the little things but never sure if it translates to the images. Thankyou 🧡

"I don't think art can ever be realized alone." Welp, there's my exit.
@@johndoe-rq1pu I'm curious how you feel about this? I'm interested in discussing this idea. I myself am someone who's work is always made alone and often not seen by people, I've become interested in the ways ideas have evolved when sharing them, even just in discussion with one person. I believe in the idea of making work for yourself and not an imagined audience, but also think there is an added layer for ourselves to our work when we find out we aren't alone in what we are expressing. I'd love to hear how you feel about it.
@@narikamckenzie I've encountered roughly three types of people when sharing art: One who will tell you that even the rag you use to clean your brushes is actually modern art and any minute you're going to be famous etc, and they're probably well-meaning but they aren't good enough at acting to be convincing; One who thinks you're an amazing artist as long as you're painting their fence or fixing their powerpoint and not actually doing art; and One who is just delighted to tell you how you're wasting your time. I'm sure there are artists who have found helpful and supportive people and people who have found artists whose work enriches their lives--that's probably the only way it would be worthwhile, I certainly get no joy from adding to the stacks--but I wouldn't even know where to begin looking except in cheesy movies.
@@johndoe-rq1pu I understand that, and recently I have had the experience of feeling like I rediscovered photography for myself where the process of going out and seeing things became the art for me more so than the end result, but in sharing some recent work and having connected with people over it the work itself has evolved for me. I think being the person who tells someone else their work means something to you is also part of making art, I think letting other people know their work resonates with you, that they're not just adding to the stacks, ends up offering you something as well as them. That was my experience with joining the writing class and I had intended to be an anonymous observer, if I hadn't put myself out there I would have missed the inspiration that came from it and the experience of making the work that has followed. Don't get me wrong, definitely feel like I'm adding to the stacks alot of the time, but I don't know how to do anything else 🫠 You don't know who might need your work till you put it out there.
@@narikamckenzie Glad that you've had so many positive experiences with making and sharing your art.
This is what the world needs more of today, thank you for being a positive force 🙏 stay safe on your journey
@@austins.2495 thankyou for the encouragement, it helps 😊
