    Great video, enjoyed it. Honest down to earth review, great shots of the Matterhorn and no fartsy studio shots of the watch - but rather authentic, dirt and all shots of it being used as it should.

    i got a grand seiko, because the polishing is so good that even with scratches, the shine is superb and the whole watch still looks great. the scratches make the watch mine and i love it.

    Wow, that was actually an incredibly refreshing watch video! none of the run-of-the-mill history of the milgauss, specs, etc that literally every single other video has. Just some solid everyday watch shots. Loved the last shot with it on a night table just ticking away! I have a white dial milgauss and it will get more wrist time after watching this

    Yes a lot of work goes into the zaratsu finish, if you hold it up against another polished watch you will see how much clearer you can see your reflection on the side of the case. This highly polished service will scratch but that’s gotta come with wearing it. You can send it a GS service center when it gets bad and they will polish it for you but it will not be perfect just better. But you can’t, or it’s hard to ‘polish’ brushed surfaces because there’s actually a fine pattern there that you can disrupt when polishing so at least you can have it polished. I buy watches to wear them and I don’t nitpick the scratches because it’s a daily worn watch but I can understand how this might bother some. For me, I kind of expect it to get a little beat up. They are dressy not toolish, so keep that in mind. Most GS even the sports models are sleek and a dressy finish to them so they don’t come off as bulky tool watches, which is one of the elements I tend to love about GS.

    If everyone is so OCD about scratches, go with the 2nd hand GS. I bought the GS because 1. Spring Drive -> very smooth movement or Hi-Beat 36000 BPH which is very smooth as well 2. The finishing so neat, and the light reflecting very well compared with the same price with other swiss watches 3. Hard to replicate

    A supposed anachronistic anti-magnetic design approach.... ...on a mechanical watch, which has itself been arguably anachronistic since the dawn of the age of Quartz....

    • @watchesinthewild8276

    As someone who owns both the sub and the yachtmaster, I feel the YM is on a much higher lever than the slab sided, blocky, basic and too common sub. Even fits better as it is slimmer and the case shape conforms better to the wrist. But hey, if you drink the coolaid, then you'll probably prefer the sub. YMMV.

    • @watchesinthewild8276
      @watchesinthewild8276 2 роки тому

      I happen to much prefer the bezel action of the sub and just am a fan of the design - can‘t help myself even though I know it‘s a rather unoriginal preference. I have to say though that I really love the look of the grey monochrome version with that pop of blue.
