It was released in 1998 and features many elements of world music. This is honestly one of the most brilliant albums I have ever heard and I will gush over it all day.

First time finding you, hope you've had a chance in the last 3-4 years to grow more accustomed to nin. But yeah, this is still one of the greatest nin songs (to me) cause its so raw and emotional. And to think this is the OPENING song of that album... thats a fucking statement.

Jon Crosby is an under appreciated genius, he did 5 albums of awesome music, he hasnt been active for a long time, but his catalog is superb

I usually listen to VAST - Touched..... followed by Vast - Flames. I think of my girlfriend and all she went through with me and that she has PTSD because of how I was but she was with me even through my mother dying of cancer and cried at the funeral once she seen I was able to finally tear up/open up. When listening to these songs it makes me think even of the good things we went through and all the things we have in common. Makes me value more pair-bonding, the connection and its significance while going through life. Makes me wanna do better for her because so far I've only given her shit and its unfair.

Radiohead wouldnt really even consider the studio versions better than the live versions. At this point they just wanted to play the best versions of the songs that were ever recorded. But rest assured there was no pre recording before this song. They are just that good, and that was just a sign of the times when playing a great version live no matter where was a sign of pride, and no one ever thought about the likes, the retweets, or the engagement. They killed it because they were meant to be the third or fourth super UK band, first the Beatles, then Led Zeppelin, then Pink Floyd, then Radiohead. This was their moment in time, and they seized it. Or the third if you count them as super progressive bands who moved music forward by a decade.

Hey man hope you're doing good! I was a hard NIN fan for a LOOONG time. Reznor's genius will never been matched in many ways. Kind of like Neo in The Matrix. Anyway i will speak honestly about them being a 30 year fan. Even though his music is literally always uncharted territory.... It's still always depressing. Again as a long time fan, i might tell anyone to avoid them for mental safety

It was the closer for most shows for many years, and the fans came to dread it because it meant the show was over, so they move it around in sets now. But you are right it makes a great closer.

Lars (Metallica) supposedly thought it was one of the best debuts he'd ever heard. Some tracks had music videos aired on MTV at the time (around 2000). The first two albums are best, the untitled debut with this track is the heaviest, with the most industrial and alt rock elements. The next albums, Music for People, Nude, and April (2007) were decent but a bit more mellow. I think the artist eventually took a long rest before changing his style. I was certain VAST's Pretty When You Cry or Touched were on either the Donnie Darko or Requiem for a Dream movies, but after a search I think it's just because I watched those movies alot around that same time as a student.. As for soundtracks, the only one I've ever really liked was the Spawn one, a mix of modern rock-metal and electronic (best track Filter and Crystal Method Trip Like I Do imo), but quality headphones are always a bonus.. (I'm still browsing)
