1 Patch Forward, 2 Steps Back - Space Marine 2: 6.0 February Update
Saber dropped the 6.0 patch for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 this morning, and it's a big one. We've got the Salamanders and Raven Guard Cosmetic Pack for Season Pass holders, a new PVP map, and a silly amount of balance changes and perk reworks which will most likely change your builds for each of the classes significantly. Why nerf things in a game people barely play as is?
Friendly reminder that the update we all waited for was 70% cosmetics and the rest bs….
Well back to darktide I go
To get all the operations mode datavault ordeals, just the completing the missions one you will need to play 74 operations, 9 times on each of the base game operations and 10 times for the two new operations. Because they dont tract retroactive completion for anything past the first time and completing the new operations.. 74 times you have to replay the same content over and over and over just to unlock the data and have access to two sentences of lore.. This is the content space marine was needing... For the next two months this will be all we have..
Man this Space Marine 2 mod, for the game Astartes Overhaul, is really not doing good is it.... Speaking of strapping giant irresponsible jetpack on your shoulders. Ork Stormboyz are laughing their red paint off, looking at the Assault now.
Why absolute diff feels like lethal
Just tested the tactical out. Its skull fucked. There is no reason to run tactical on harder difficulties when there are much more viable and efficient classes you can run. Its PVE with limited, redundant, playable content and they nerfed things ……. STUPID !
Their note on the adrenaline rush perk is such B.S. It didn't make me more of a Rambo/solo super star. It allowed me to leave more stim packs for my team who did not have a reliable method of self-sustainment. Much like the Bulwark I could reasonably sustain my health for my team. Dumb.
Sweats are cancer for games. This is Saber catering to the demands of that highly-vocal elitist minority. Such a shame. You’d think they’d have learned from watching the near-demise of Helldivers 2.
Assault used to be a favorite of mine but even my guy friends had to advice me to switch up to Heavy... It just sucks ahh fr.😢
I recommend this assault build Core perks (Overcharge, auxiliary arsenal, knowledge of the enemy) Team perk (squad cohesion) Gear perks (precision strike, manoeuvrability, diligence) Signature perk (ascension) Use the block hammer and practice getting two perfect blocks in a row and then smashing the enemy, bottom row perks for the double slam as well. This setup can one shot any majoris in the game with the jump jet attack fully charged on any difficulty, except for enraged full health ones. Good luck out there
They nerfed the gunstrike damage buff, the only thing assault actually had that was good. If you want to play exclusively melee, just use Bulwark or Vanguard even though they're also nerfed

This update is 100% disappointing. The cosmetics are lack luster and nerfs 🤦♂️. I swear saber does not know how to add good content in a timely manner. This is what killed wwz and is killing this game. Is this update enough to keep players, most likely not. With monster hunter right around the corner this game will struggle to keep a player base.
You dont have to play SM2 every day. Its not a live service

Good news. They're doing another update in two months to add a single new weapon and map. If you complain you like Fortnite or whatever..
@@daltonurofsky3145It literally is. It's a bad live service game but Saber themselves said it was one. This is a game that just received an update. People returning are met with a slap in the face to anyone who enjoyed various things. Vanguard heal, bulwark banner, heavy area of effect, tactical Auspex scan in general being nerfed like hell, assault having their gunstrike nerfed when it was the only thing that gave Assault value.
@clevergoblin1714 and last time people complained they fixed what they complained about. We got all the cosmetics and content on the roadmap for patch 6. Meaning next month we get patch 7 which will have a new weapon, new op, prestige perks, another chapter packa and another champion pack. The tactical nerfs were too much as the grenade launcher only needed a small reduction in regained ammo or a cap on its rate of fire. Assault got buffed with exception of a gun strike perk which isn't even good if you're running a block hammer like you should be doing. Max out your melee damage and jump jet and you can one shot literally any majoris in the game with it. The vanguard nerf was mediocre. The bulwark got the worst with the banner nerf. The healing should be innate and them just add a new perk imo. Sniper and heavy got nothing but buffs, sniper can heal himself to full health with the cloak. They'll hotpatch the word of the nerfs next week I'm sure
I only see many significant nerfs or "fixes" and very very insignificant buffs, this sucks

@TheSilentknyght I'll doublecheck; tbh I don't really see many of my builds changing overmuch. Will get into the weeds with perks later tonight and over the weekend.
Dumped my endless supply of armory data to already buy all the new dlc sets. I like that being a thing.

@clevergoblin1714 Tac getting nerfed is hardly a surprise to anyone with half a brain. Game balance is a thing that happens, sorry Helldivers made you all panic when a game gets balanced. It's a thing they have done for decades. The patch notes even mention they're keeping an eye on things to see if anything was overdone.

Assault ruined too, Heavy with the 100 meter range nerfed too, which is nice. Really encourages me to delete this game again.

Fixing stuff is fine. But I just cant understand the NERF mentality when it comes to PvE. The main problems is that most of the perks are garbage, so it is obvious the path that you should take to be more effective. A perk rework is way more interesting than capping the "better" perks. Like the Bulwark's banner health regen one. "we think people are not using it enough and are saving it for a dire moment, so to combat that We´ll double the time it takes to refresh it. Effectivelly making this kind of "usage" worse" ???????????? WTF. You want for players to use it more but you double the time? LOL. Half the time and life, this way people would actually use the banner with more frequency. Also "We understand that this will significantly nerf the perk and will be watching we nerf it too much" If you know or think it, then you probably should dial that shit back. Meh, prolly use mods to combat this stupidity for now.

We knew some of these were coming. The grenade launcher was the new melta over heal. But things like the banner, and vanguard heal are head scratches

They hate people having fun. That's why they nerfed everything people enjoyed, not just tactical.
all i can think of is that they dont know why people only use certain perks, and therefore assume it must be because they are too strong, and dont consider that its because the other options suck

Dawg they literally buffed him, 10% more charge damage, and slightly nerfed one of his perks that isn't even good if you're running block hammer. Not only that but built properly assault can one shot any majoris with the jump pack on any difficulty.
As an assault loving player I can tell you.. you have no clue what you talk about. That gunstrike nerf by 20 % is reduced to the half when you have build your heavy bp right. Considering the extra perk point you gain 10% dmg from here. On the otherhand you get some major dmg increases by perk rework from leaping into the air. Depending on build ( example on that I love to use where I pull 23k melee dmg off without a sweat) You gain some sweet melee dmg buffs for free. Basically a horde clear build with almost instant ult recovery is now even stronger in that role and way stronger against Majors and up compared to 5.1 Also not to forget the one extra point for the hammer. Overall my melee dmg went ab by 15-20 % and ranged dmg went up, also gunstrikes went up in dmg if used the right build. So no sir. No nerf at all imho. Pretty happy with it to be honest
Only thing assault brought to a team was the gunstike % increase. Ability charge of 10% instead, yeah ok, real helpful for the now 100% increased friendship flag for bulwark that everyone will still run. Nerfed now by 20%. The armor restoration “fix” was not something i was aware of as a bug. Dmg hasn’t been a problem on the assault as you’ve well quoted with that BDE to bring 23k no sweat lol. Survivability is the assaults problem and whether not it was a fix, that was nerfed when being up close against bosses. So yeah mate, there can be both buffs and nerfs. Both can exist in one patch. Shouldn’t have had any nerfs. Tangent here: Don’t see any fixes to jet pack to make it less of a watered down shit sandwhich from its glory in the campaign.
For clicks its better to say: it‘s shit, typically. Play other games man and you will see how good SM2 is supportet!
not really, it depends on the game and how the studio/ publisher wants the support to look like and how much they wish to spend.

Sm2 is not supported well, this is Helldivers 2 level of update and breaking all the toys players loved. This game is shit, when Horde Mode disappoints that'll be the nail in the coffin.
Did assault's ample ammunition perk get the ranged damage increase in previous patches and I missed it? It's not included in this patch note. Maybe this latest list wasn't exhaustive?
So basically zero new gameplay content. An obvious cut battlebarg area/data center aka more drip fed areas being added This dev and game is pathetic tbh and the youtubers who promote are worse
idk maybe this is me splitting hairs; I feel like keeping up on the game and talking about the reality of changes is different than promoting it mindlessly. Plus, the AO mod continues to fix the game as a whole.
The Devs are in no way pathetic. They are probably the only modern era gaming studio that isn't quite literally a community built studio that actually listens to its players. Besides nerfs are to be expected especially with some of those OP perks. I honestly will still play modded but the updates that the Devs are doing are to be expected imo and I hope that more overall gameplay will be added in the future with new enemies maybe necrons?!?
Everything plus a little extra from the roadmap patch 6 dropped for this update, which means another champion, another chapter pack, a weapon, pve prestige ranks and a new operation are coming next month, if you like the game be patient more content is coming. You can always go waste some money on a new fortnite or cod skin in the meantime

Enjoy Astartes Overhaul because something tells me they will have to take the mod down. Too many PC players aren't engaging with crossplay and it's competition.. considering how they fucked a simple rework I wouldn't be shocked if took down
@@Emin-si lol they're barely even competent enough to steal an Fov mod and make it part of the PC base game. They failed with making a simple perk rework with buffs to classes that seriously needed it and didn't need nerfs. Assault losing gunstrike damage makes Assault actually worthless. And they're not going to update again for two months. They're drip feeding content they finished months ago, how is this acceptable to you? Just living in a copium paradise where they might introduce an entirely new faction of enemies when just adding one enemy seems to be crazy for them

As a plasma tactical main this seems predominantly a buff for me but I can see the hurt for other classes. Interested to see what they unwind for 6.1

I wish all of the data vault stuff was awarded for retroactive progress. But also, it's just fun things, so annoying but not awful. I also wish the perk changes included more reworks rather than rebalancing of the numbers, the latter of which hasn't pushed me to choose any new perks.

Yeah TBH ive been stuck on 92 for a while, I honestly logged in and had a run where i dont die at all things are smooth maps are juiced and im loving it then ill take a break come back and die twice in a row and lost my xp and but worse of all i have no idea what killed me.
Amen Brother , couldn`t have said it better. Have all the missions on Lethal atleast once for the helmet ( was a real struggle with random brothers but it worked) Since then I played a few Relentless and Substantial diff and maaaan its so not enjoyable Of course its supposed to be a challenge but , imo just the same as helldivers 2 fate Hope they wake up as arrowhead did , because this is on paper just chilling with the bros and having a good time but its too sweaty for that

honestly it should be the xp that you made in the map is lost. XP scaling is enough that it takes sooo many T15s to get from 95 to 96, and when you die you lose like 15 maps worth of xp.
At level 91 u die for no reason. Xp penalties are stupid
You are pretty far off but so are the comments. The game is in early access, they've already made changes to things they perceived as "added difficulty" based on the response from the community. The game has barely been in early access for 2 months, if this were the official launch then sure maybe I could understand where you're coming from. Judging by the way you speak of the game, you either didn't play poe 1 much if at all. It's kind of difficult to make a game that just released and already has massive power creep hard, abd has nothing to do with wasting your time. Just don't play a game when it's not even ready for full launch and expect a master piece and then cry about it when it's not.

I like POE2, but why does exp penalty even exist? I’ve done everything I could think of to get stronger. I cleared easier maps for better gear, respec my skill tree, switch up my skills. But harder maps are just… hard enough as it is at this point I need to level up to even make it halfway through. It’s so frustrating sometimes
Just follow a good guide and everything’s fixed 🤷♂️
As a player who done solo lethal multiple times i will say - this game combat system need a full rework. Let us regain health, let as regain ammo, buff all ranged weapons and make all melee weapons as good as “block type” weapons - building difficulty around “survival” design isn’t fit for space marine - you need to encourage agressive and skillful game play!
When you say as good as block type weapon… Do you mean in strength? Or is block type secretly much better playstyle wise than balanced or fencing? I just picked the game up this week so still learning

I kinda feel like unscripted 1 shot mechanics (I.e mechanics from trash mobs usually) are artificial ways to enhance difficulty. Like I never learn anything from getting offscreen pwned by some shit I can’t even see coming

All we need at this moment is weapon balance rework. Take a timer and look how many time bulwark need to take out majoris compate to tactic with granade launcher ot even melta users. Its joke. How many contested health you can have compare to melta or plasma guns? One pary miss and you are dead on lethal with bulwark or assault.
