this is for people that enjoy being hung up on. probably one out of 200 cold calls will result in someone that you could talk to. This type of sales in about 1999.

Do you avoid merchants doing under 5k or do you sign all merchants?
depends where your at financially in the industry. when i first started i signed anyone with a pulses. as i grew my portfolio I became selective. remember.. the small ones can help you get to the big ones. everyone has a referral. don’t discriminate if you are a rookie.
Great question. I’ve always had the philosophy to keep writing as many as you can. This helps you build momentum, which increases your confidence. Also, make sure you get referrals from them which will lead you to more and bigger opportunities.

I acknowledge the significance of mindset in my new endeavour of selling merchant services over the phone. Nevertheless, I often find myself uncertain about what to say to prospects. I would appreciate learning about a script and how to handle common objections such as 'We're not interested,' 'We're happy with what we have,' and 'We're all set.'
Good insight on not apologizing when walking in! I have always thought that I am being polite but I also understand now that I'm putting my time as less valuable then theirs right away. No bueno! Learning from the best!! It's all about perspective!

Hey Rich, first of all, thank you for your knowledge. It definitely helps. Based off of your experience, what have you found is the best way to ask for the owner of the business? I definitely appreciate any insight you might have. Thank you again.
That’s a great question. The first step is when you’re meeting people regardless of whether they are the owner or not is to establish a good rapport with everyone you meet there. Be friendly, I have a sense of urgency. Have fun, announce to them with strong eye contact , and a smile who you are and what you’re doing. You will find because of your confidence, they will automatically get the owner for you. Make sure you establish an opener that’s completely different from the typical merchant service representative.
