@@RamFett Unfortunately, most of the closest ones to me have long since been removed, or are rarely, if ever, tested.

@SirenLightsInnovate I was joking, as you can probably tell. I love P-50s. My favorite? Basically, any ACA rotating electromechanical unit.

@RamFett Brookfield's STH dident go off all those times? Dang I'm sorry to hear that! Strange too cause I briefly heard it one night during severe weather and tornado warnings west of me back in May.

Yeah, this goes back to 2008 when I was first recording stuff for my channel. It was winter, and they didn't test for some reason. This past summer, I tried twice, once on the 4th of July because I had off work (we called, no one was working to test them) and again in August (it started to rain lightly, so they skipped the test). I still want to get it on video before ECS lets it fail and scams Brookfield on a replacement.

@@RamFett I feel ya man. There were rumors of Brookfield replacing that STH-10 a little while ago. To everyones surprise, the replacement siren (a FS equinox) ended up replacing the 2T22 north of the STH. So I'm not too sure how long it'll be before Brookfield's STH bits the dust but I'm willing to bet that Brookfield is just gonna keep using it until it calls it quits for any reason. (Probably what happened to the 2T22)

@stormunbound31 Brown Deer HS, Ruby Garage, Whitefish Bay, Currie Park, Whitnall Park, and this one makes 6. South Milwaukee was replaced earlier this year. Interestingly, the Allertors have mostly outlived many of the newer Penetrator 10/15s that were designed to replace them.

In addition to the ones I mentioned, there also used to be 3 more in Greenfield, one more in Wauwatosa, and possibly more before that.

Not bad at all! You got better audio from your spot. You'll have a few months to record it again if you choose to.

There is no damper. It's wired incorrectly, causing the rotor to spin backwards (pushing less air, less resistance, so faster), which produces the higher pitch.

@ huh okay but it’s coded hence the name and also the way the housing is. The housing on this model could fit a damper in it

There is also what looks to be a solenoid box where the wire connects to the siren but I could be wrong

@NFDTornadoalarmNFDYTHELLO I don't believe it is coded. The box you're referring to is just a junction box, if I'm not mistaken. The pictures I've seen of 3 signal Cyclones, the solenoid boxes are much larger.

I know the months before this it was running really weird timing, apparently due to agastat problems. In September, I heard it from the roundback 2001, and the timing was screwed up again.

@@SirensOfSEWI Thanks! The work it took to get to this spot was worth it! The wind was favorable to hear it clearly this time. The previous attempt I made in September, the siren wasn't nearly as audible.

I did that one in August. There *may* be a video of that one on my channel very soon. I'm really going to miss that siren in that location, it's such a cool shot.

@ you were able to record it from the parking garage? Cause I recorded it on top of my car 😂

​@@warningsirensofwisconsin I did. Third floor or higher on the North side of the structure gets you a really cool shot. It only cost like 2 bucks to park for an hour.

@@RamFett well yeah I know that spot but the last time I tried it was gated off so weird
