Scraping and restarting multiple times should not be a point of defense for the devs. They should’ve planned better so that they didn’t waste their and everyone else’s time. I’m sure at least one person who really wanted to play this game a decade ago has died waiting for this game to come out.

You have to take into account that they SCRAPPED the game’s code a couple times. They kept the same story, but they’ve been messing with coding. They are building up their own engine right now. 2020 was not just a rebrand, but also a complete engine rework/move. They’re planning for the maps of the game to be huge so much to the point where you could get lost according to some messages from Pastellel (Oddity’s main dev from my memory and i think i spelt it wrong.) To sum it up: MOTHER 4 and ODDITY are two completely different games (when it comes to gameplay.) i’d still be pessimistic about it coming out anytime soon. Winter 2034.

I believe the reason that you're not hooked is most likely because you do have much attachment to the characters within the game at all. if you do not like the characters in undertale, it kinda basically ruins what it is built up to be.
