I love/hate the way the theme interpretations get steadily worse and less magical as time goes on. It all started to fall apart in 1999 with the apalling Paul Norton and Wendy Stapleton car crash version.

Never watched a single episode (was in the UK where the show was aired everyday), but the theme music is so nostalgic. I don't care much for the ladies' versions because, though they sing nicely, the accompanying music ditches the best chord progressions found in other versions.

I didn't realise there was a difference between versions 1 and 2 until I listened to this video.

I grew up with Garth Ploog theme song and 2016 was my first known season. And I didn’t know until a couple years ago that Neighbours have been airing since my parents’ childhood

Daniel Boys version was horrendous. No wonder it only lasted a year!

The Janine Maunder version is the one I remember from my childhood in 2006 on TV2. While I wasn't really into the show, I still know which theme song I heard. And it definitely wasn't any of the other ones. I honestly didn't even know there were other ones. Aside from the Sandra DeJong version.

2002 - 2007 is decent enough, but you can't beat the original.

Izzy wasn't all to blame. Telling her she was free and could do what she wanted, saying he felt trapped. So why did he want Susan back after Izzy fooled him and she was married to another man. He was ungrateful for what he had. And no one was stopping him from doing medecins sans frontier because the woman did the childcare. Susan did most of it. He was horrible to his wife, showed ingratitude and just as Izzy trashed the women for having children, she ended up with Holly. She didn't know what she wanted. Karl was horrible and just selfish. Izzy wanted Susan's attention just as much as Karl's because she wasn't happy when he left Susan and when she came back when the show ended, she made clear she wanted attention from both of them and used Mal to get it

I agree with everyone on here that the best 2 versions of the theme are Barry 1985 - 1989, and Janinie 2002 - 2007 which looking at all the comments on here seem to also coincide with the best 2 era's of the show. Nothing since for me is as good as those 2 and if I had to push for one it would be Janine's. I feel like Barry's was the introduction to the chirpy, comedy and good feeling neighbours started as, and Janine's was the completion where neighbours really do become good friends, I feel the storylines in that period echoed that as well.

07-13 the best for me with 02-07 a close second. What on Earth were they thinking with the 13-14 version, horrific!

And now I’ve come back here the day after they’ve started filming to get the programme up and running later in 2023

It's Barry, Gregg, Janine, Garth and Bonnie that's my order. The ABSOLUTE worst was the Daniel Boys and Stephanie Angelini from 2013. Talk about murdering a song. I'm not talking about their voices which are very good, but the arrangement is an offense on the ears
