I am living in Upland CA 91786. What if I take a 40 hours training and I think its mandatory to attend training class too and do you have physical location in my area?
Unfortunately we do not have a location near you
You can do this all online ?
New BSIS laws require in-person training for the appropriate use of force.
I'm confused. The video shows a $50 8 hour online class to receive a certificate and apply for a basic guard card. but your site shows a different class at $99 and requires an in person class in Richmond. Is online only still possible in CA for a guard card?
Yes - new laws went into effect this year that required in-person training. Online only is not legal in CA anymore for a guard card.
Would it be possible to get a video on how to renew the baton permit, please?
yes!
It’s no longer 99$ for bundle?
New requirements made us need to do a hybrid class (online and in-person), and in-person training is much more expensive, unfortunately.
To just get a regular license do I have to take the 32 hour course also is all this done online or do I have to go to a building?
What if for the life scan I have multiple fingers amputated how would that work ? Will get denied
Contact the BSIS - they should be able to direct you
What if I got a criminal record can u steal get your guard card with no fire arm
How did u got the live scan paper?? I did my class and now as i am trying to do breez idk where do i get the live scan paper.
Check out step 3 on our website - we have links to the updated forms there: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/pages/guardcardapplication
Saw on your website that part of the curriculum is to take an in person class in Richmond, CA. Do you offer one in Los Angeles?
Unfortunately not - maybe one day we will have enough customers to expand to the LA region :)
For out of staters, is it possible to use our local livescan site to upload fingerprints when living out of state, or are fingerprint cards still required?
Local live scan site is fine to upload fingerprints no fingerprint cards are required. Everything is sent electronically.
You need a ‘hard card’. With physical fingerprints on a ID.
@@osossecurityservices I spoke with a BSIS rep today and she didnt know about the regulation update going from the old training: Powers to Arrest/Weapons of Mass destruction, to, Powers to Arrest/Appropriate Use of Force. But the website clearly has a bulletin with an important update for all concerned. Additionally the rep said because Im out of state my fingerprints should be on a hard card.
@@louielouie7806 good to know about a hard card for out of state!
can I do everything online (8hr training)?
No - new regulations requires at least half of the new training to be in-person. We offer in person training with friendly instructors who will help you get certified quickly and efficiently: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/
Hey is there, someone who help me to make my guard license please 😊
Check out our steps here: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/pages/guardcardapplication sign up for one of our guard card classes - we recommend the 40 hour bundle: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/bundles/40-hour-bundle and we will see you in the classroom!
Hello hopefully you respond quickly *as it would be much appreciated* I did part A (power to arrest) online but had to go in person to do part B (AOUF) they did the livescan while in the middle of the class. Just wondering, I'm trying to send all of my stuff on breeze now but it seems like I can only type in one certificate in? I can upload pictures of the online certificate and the certificate I have in person. What should I do in this case? Thank you :) Awesome video
Should i put the online course or the in power AUOF course there?
@@beierduo3 I would recommend putting the Powers to Arrest information (certificate number and instructor information) on Breeze and upload both of your certificates. Come take the training with us next time and we will give you a combined certificate for both parts :) Also reminder to complete your continuing education (32 hours)
@@osossecurityservices okay i did do that! I forgot to upload my live scan (i did it in person yesterday doing part b).. Does Breeze automatically get my fingerprints? Where are you located or is it online as well?(:
@@beierduo3 Live Scan fingerprints do not need to be uploaded to Breeze as they will be sent by the Live Scan operator to the appropriate parties (DOJ & FBI) just make sure you keep a copy for your records and have you ATI number to check your background check status! All of our classes are online, except the Appropriate use of Force (part B of the Guard Card) is at our Richmond facility. All of our other courses can be done fully online at osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/
@@osossecurityservices ah okay thank you so much! I’ll keep that in mind for when I want to get baton, pepper spray and energy weapon certs. I currently live in Sacramento but Richmond wouldn’t be too out of the way if you have better deals and instructors. i’ll check you guys out soon :)
How much is the live scan
$49 + Live Scan Site Fee (unless you are doing a combined security guard / firearms permit Live Scan - then it is $87 + Live Scan Site Fee)
I have a Pending gun charge in California, Nonviolent crime and still fighting my case with no priors, is this something that will stop me from being able to obtain a guard card?
Send a message (or call) the BSIS - they are the issuing agency for obtaining a guard card and will help you navigate: bsis.ca.gov/webapplications/apps/contact/index.shtml.
I would go ahead and apply already before your conviction!! I had a pending gun charge when I first applied and got approved fast as hell. I let it expire and tried to apply with a conviction and got denied
Question here, is everything online or will I have to do in person training?
New laws are requiring us to do the 5-hour Appropriate Use of Force in-person. Everything else is online.
How can identify the license number and pta certificate serial number?
PTA certificate number is on the bottom right hand corner of our certificates. License number is on the top right: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/pages/guardcardapplication
@@osossecurityservices yes, I receive the info other day from my instructor. Thanks anyways!
I’m applying for the guard card right now and I’m not sure what to put down for name of course instructor
Take a look at this page: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/pages/guardcardapplication
The 40 hour bundle is like 200 nowadays sheesh
@@jujuaustin5230 yes prices increased at every company because of new California regulations that require part of the guard card course to be taught in person. In person training is much more expensive than pure online training.
How do you print your guard card once you get it?
@@bltbrandon you should receive the physical card in the mail
If I did the 8hr class and need to do the 32 remaining do I have to re do the application process?
No need to redo the application process!
Complete that 40 hour training!
Can you have a misdemeanor?
Give the BSIS a call or email with more details - they will be able to answer better based on your situation
For Live Scan form, what do I put for the OCA number and ATI number?
Those are the tracking numbers that the Live Scan operator will fill out.
How long did it take everyone to get approved? I submitted application on June 3rd and still pending
Any update ?? I submitted the live scan on July 5th
@@awakenjorge171I got denied for 1 misdemeanor conviction for a conceal firearm registered to me. I appealed the decision so hopefully that works but it took me about a month to wait for a denied decision
if you are going for armed guard in California its's $119 for the dang live scan. not sure why its so much. Arizona for armed guard is $10 for finger prints.
Thats califartnia for you. Always looking to milk people
you can make 25 - 55 an hour being an armed guard. MONEY comes money goes. Don't be stingy over $119
Probably because it’s cali where everything is 50x the price
$99 over here in Ca. But, for the initial Security Guard Livescan.
@@Bigcountryboy- i’m in california bro i’m saying that as a california resident..
would I have to complete 2023 and 2024 refresher course and upload the certificates through breeze when I pay?
You must complete both refresher courses but it is not currently mandated to upload those certificates to breeze. You do need to keep a record of those certificates and so does your employer in the event of an audit.
@@osossecurityservices thank you very much in a fast response!
How do I get a physical copy of my PTA Certificate? I’m unable to
I’m having difficulties renewing my guard card I don’t see that option on that site??? Could you please help me?
Do you see your guard card on your Breeze account? If not you probably need to link your license to your profile. To do that first, click the "Update Profile" hyperlink on the Quick Start Menu. Second, click the "Add License" button. Then fill in the information for the required fields.
What do I need to do too become a personal security for a famous athlete. He wants me to be able to also carry a gun while out and about in CA
Check with your local sheriffs department on what type of credentials you need in your area.
@@osossecurityservices I just did and they said they have no information to give me, that law enforcement and a security guard/bodyguard is different. I was shock and just said ok
You need Security License. After approval. Apply for another Gun license. Both can be assets to your client.
How much is the fee??
For the guard card course or the license or the live scan?
@@osossecurityservices all of them
How do I get the name of course instructor and school pr business name and license number and place certificate serial number?
They should all be on the certificate - check out our step-by-step instructions here: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/pages/guardcardapplication
Where do I find the license number and why would it not be clearly listed as that wtf?
Check out Step 1 in our instructions: osossecurityservices.thinkific.com/pages/guardcardapplication if you took the course with us it's 1447
How long does it take till it get approved mine said pending and open can someone explain this to me …it that a good thing or bad thing it over ah month now
Check out this link for current processing times for the BSIS: www.bsis.ca.gov/forms_pubs/app_processing_timeframes.shtml
Any updates? Mine still in pending as well
@@davidcano8734did you end receiving it?
Do you require this card to be an armed Sec Guard or or does the armed security guard card also include the regular guard card? Or how can I apply for armed guard card?
An armed security guard usually means both a security guard license and an exposed firearms permit. An exposed firearms permit does not include the security guard card.
I messed up and paid the breeze site before I had taken my test and had my live scan. Now I have all the information it won’t give the option to upload anything now
Send an email to bsis@dca.ca.gov with a receipt of your payment/applicant number, attach a copy of your certificate, and let them know that you did not attach it originally.
What if I did my 8 hrs and applied for the guard card on breeze but didn’t submit my certificates on the file attachment portion?
Reach out to the BSIS via email and attach your certificate - make sure to include your application number.
Do we have to mail the renewal application if we paid online?
If you renewed online through Breeze you do not need to mail in the renewal application!
After paying the renewal fee. Do we also have to submit the application online and the 32-hour course?
@@jriverar1436 Did you renew online through Breeze? If so, then you should be good to go
do I print and fill out the live scan form at home and then show up to the UPS office so they can do my finger prints etc... ? or do they fill it out for me? Also, can I email my job a PDF of the live scan form if they give me a copy so I can start my job?
Another question, how can I see an update on my guard card?
@@crystalramos5681 Fill out all of the applicant info for the livescan yourself. You will need to have your guard card before you can legally start working as a security guard. After you have submitted your application to the BSIS you should be notified by email and receive your guard card in the mail, you can also check if your license is active at the following link: search.dca.ca.gov/
my live scan place did not submit my scan online i have paperwork for it how would I submit that to breeze?
The LiveScan operator has most likely electronically submitted your fingerprints to the DOJ and FBI and wrote an Automated Transaction Identifier (ATI) number on the copy of your form. You can also review the status of your live scan at any time by going to the following link: applicantstatus.doj.ca.gov/
What do I put for type of licensing?
Security Guard
Do I do the breeze account information and pay $55 before I do live scan?
I believe the live scan is the last step.
Yes per FBI regulations, you must submit your online application PRIOR to LiveScan(s). UNLESS you are sending physical applications, (which I wouldn’t) taking up to 8 weeks approval (still standard)
em i able to take the course and test online?
Yes!
when adding my PTA certificate security number on the guard card, can it be from any certificate or?
As long as the 8 hour course guard card course was from a BSIS instructor (like OSOS) and completed recently then yes
Is there anything deferent that Veterans have to take to get certified or its all the same thing? Is there a discount I can use?
Yes you need to check the box that says you served in the military and include your DD 214 or active military ID when you upload your application (it usually gets approved much quicker)
Video 4 minutes and 20 seconds .....blaze it 😂
So I have to do the 8hr and 32hr to fully get my card?
You can apply for your guard card with just the 8-hour course. Still, you need to complete the 32 hours within the first 6 months of getting your license (16 hours after the first 30 days and 16 hours within 6 months), so most security companies require the 32-hour course to be completed before you start working as a guard to stay in compliance. This is why we highly recommend the 40-hour bundle (8-hour guard card and 32-hour continuing education).
@@osossecurityservicesone question and the 32 hr corse is done online when we get the 40hr bundle correct ? Or does the 32hr corse need to be done in person ?
@@AlejandroEstrada-km5re 32 hour course (included in the 40 hour bundle) is all online!
Wait so first I have to finish the first application n when I’m done with that I have to do breeze application?
After you complete the guad card course you only need to do the breeze application, then livescan and you should receive your guard card in the mail!
So you cannot get a job with the basic 8hr course? You need the 32hr on top of the 8hr course? I also looked up the time to get the card and it takes 2 months?
You can get a job after the eight-hour course, and you have your guard card, but most companies want the additional 32 hours since you will be required to complete them within six months. According to the BSIS website, it takes between 30 and 60 days for the guard card; sometimes, it comes sooner.
Is it all online or in person?
the 40 hour training courses and guard card application are online but you have to do the live scan in person, the website tells you where you can go near you and what to do once you do the live scan.
