Here's the tutorial for the Pinky Count, which is one of the most useful moves in card magic and also one of my personal favorite sleights. It allows you to obtain a pinky break under any number of cards and it's completely undetectable. It's very difficult though, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to post a comment or send me a Personal Message. Credits to Fred Braue for creating th...

    ANYONE WATCHING CLOSELY KNOWS THERE ARE HIDDEN CARDS! WHEN YOU SHOWED THE 7s, 8s, Qs, YOU DID NOT SHOW ALL 4 SUITS OF EACH CARD, BUT RATHER THE SAME CARD TWICE! I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A CAMERON FRANCIS EFFECT?

    Please everyone do not learn using this grip and develop a bad habit. Use a proper Elmsley Count grip because it’s far more consistent and much easier to hide an inadvertent flash. It may feel weird at first but using this grip here will do nothing but frustrate you and reinforce a bad habit. You will have to be so precise with this grip that it will easily bring attention to your hand from the spectator. Gripping with only a thumb and pointer finger allows a pivot point that’s hard to control without overly focusing on it which makes it look suspicious. Pinch with your middle finger and thumb with your index finger at the top to hold the deck squared up. The index finger up top will balance that pivot point where cards aren’t twisting anywhere. Watch Elmsley do it himself and it will make sense.

    I love this double lift because too me this is how it looks when a regular person turns over a card.. I think people haven't gotten a little too over the top a little too fancy with their double lifts if you know what I mean. If your double lift is too over the top I always thought to myself wouldn't the spectator start to question why is he turning over cards in sucks a fancy unique way lol.. idk just my 2 cents

    Really nice tutorial. You've got a really good teaching style, really clear, only what is necessary, and no time wasted being quirky. I've watched hours of "professional" teaching videos, most of them not cheap, and I wish they were all as well taught as yours. Really impressed, instant sub.

    Do a bit of basic research...have some pride in yourself if you like magic, and go and find out whose trick this really is! Clue: surname Sadowitz

  • @mrswozzle
    @mrswozzle 4 роки тому

    This trick is called "COME AGAIN" by Jerry Sadowitz and was published in his book CARDS HIT in 1984. paul gordon has no right to claim it or publish it. The performer of this video clip has no right to expose the secret of the trick as repeat video viewings easily explain the method.

    After practicing my pinky count on a deck, the whole deck is kinda bend down a lil bit so when i turn the deck face up, i find it is really hard to do the pinky count so are there any tips for this? do i need apply less pressure or sthing?

  • @Littlethumbtip
    @Littlethumbtip 4 роки тому

    Very nicely handled! Love the smoothness of your "counts"...rarely do I see them unhurried and without awkwardness. You might casually kill the pips on the last card to dissuade the more discerning eye. As is Cameron's habit, he oftentimes trades more challenging sleight of hand for economy in movement. Perhaps this is good, but I'm wondering if whether layering in a NoLap switch, for the more cozy riffle force, might take the spectator down a greater garden path of believing she had a cleaner choice, and therefore a more fooling ending? Thanks for the gift of magic!

    You really don’t need much pinky strength at all to do this. It’s almost entirely coordination and practice. And you can make the count even more subtle than in this video with a bit of practice

    I have watched EVERY elmsly count tutorial. Something wasn't clicking. Months and months i could not do it. So, i thought I'd do a simplified. Peel with my thumb. It worked but wasn't as clean as i wanted. I video taped tricks...it look okay. But i wanted to learn the proper way. Then i stumbled upon this gem of a video. UNBELIEVABLY HELPFUL, MAN! i nailed it in 20 minutes. The handling tips and the whole damn tutorial clicked with me. Thank you! Thank you! Dude, THANK YOU! i can do it properly!

    Or an even better way to do the Elmsley would be to count from a dealing grip and not the pinch, then there is no need to re-grip. Not the way it was originally written but an interesting and more natural way of doing it nonetheless. Great video btw with excellent tutorials.

    I have a problem with maintaining the break once I manage to get it! I count two cards pretty easily now, but when I try to relax the hand I either lift up a few cards below the break by mistake or I tend to drop the break again when relaxing. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

    Im having problems with this move i realise hiw old this is but any advice would be awsome When i apy pressure for the count my ring finger naturally wants to apply the same pressure i cant push my pinky down and keep my ring finger straight So im fighting my ring finger but im struggling to apply pressure to the thumb pinky and keep the ring finger loose any advice

    • @MagicZack24
      @MagicZack24 6 років тому

      Without a deck of cards in your hand, are you able to firmly press your thumb and pinky together while keeping your other fingers relaxed? Trying that out might help you when you then try with cards since the idea is to have your thumb and pinky working separately from your other fingers. And remember that if you're able to, you can keep your ring finger completely off the cards to make things easier.

    • @adz108
      @adz108 6 років тому

      MagicZack24 i can sort of doit with my ring finger out the way and use the middle finger to stop the spring back but its not the same as for ur question..no i actually cant do that i dunno why ..muscle memory i suppose

    • @MagicZack24
      @MagicZack24 6 років тому

      Hmm, I would just keep practicing until you get it. For me the pinky count was one of those things that I couldn't do at all after weeks of practicing and then I just did it out of nowhere one day and it was easy after that.

    Is it more difficult with smaller hands? I'll learn it either way, but I'm having difficulty getting my pinky round the deck.

    • @MagicZack24
      @MagicZack24 6 років тому

      It definitely does make things more difficult if you can't get your pinky around the deck. My hands aren't very big either but I have enough pinky reach. I would suggest trying bridge size cards, they're narrower and should make things easier for you.

    I need to work on my separation. Very good advice in your tutorial. Your rhythm is perfect too. I use the modified or popular handling but your advice still applies. I might have actually learned something with the jordan count as well because that is not the way I was doing it. That last count hiding the second card was impressive as well but what would you use it for? Never seen any routine using that.
