Flyers fan here. I am pissed. Flyers basically get back 2nd rounder for two young players with upside. Flyers badly need top end talent & this trade does nothing to move that forward.

Frost was super inconsistent and so was farabee this year. We now have 3 first round picks and 4 second round picks for this year!! There are some Flyers fans that just want to hate everything this team and organization does, hate on Briere, hate on Torts. Simple fact is, Farabee and Frost were given so many opportunities to make big jumps, Frost was paired with Michkov and Tippett for a good portion of the season and did next to nothing with it, Farabee was on the first line for months and Torts praised him for creating chances but again, he wasn't producing. Farabee has something like 29 points in his last 81 games dating back to last season, Frost has never been consistent with his play. Both talented, still younger guys so maybe the change of scenery helps them flourish (and I hope they do) but it wasn't going to happen here. As for the Flyers return, we get Pelletier, who some are saying could be the best player in this deal if he hits his ceiling, Kuz for a couple of months to hopefully give Michkov more comfort out there playing with an old Russian teammate, and in the off season with Kuzmenko's deal coming off the books the Flyers will get cap relief and yet another high draft pick in this draft. What Danny does before the deadline and what he does with all this draft capitol (7 picks in the first 2 rounds) will really sway what Flyers fans think of the direction of the team. I like the deal all around for both teams.

As a Flyers fan I had to watch this game. What I saw from Frost and Farabee is what I've been seeing from them all year. Frost can't win face offs and does cough up the puck often, Farabee was in the corners but didn't do much else. To give both of them a break last night's game was their 5th in about 8 days so I'm sure they are still tired. I do wish them well and success in Calgary.

Frost a minus 2 in 17 plus minutes of ice time and 50% in the face off dot. Pretty much what you get with Frost. A defensive liability with the odd flash of offense. Farabee is solid but not worth the money they gave him. Frost was given every chance to succeed in Phily and couldn't run with it.

Backlund has looked like he's lost a step lately. I hope he gets it back.

difficult deal for the Flyers and Danny. However, I think this is a very smart trade from a cap perspective. Remember, Chuck Fletcher signed Couturier to an 8 year, no trade for 7, back in 2021 that has a $7.75 cap hit until 2029-30. This now is one of the worst contracts in the NHL and a complete albatross for Briere. No offense to Couts, but with his injury and current age, there is very little chance he can produce anywhere close to justifying the contract. So, the underproductive Farabee with a $5 million cap hit for 3 more years was the logical guy to trade. Would love to see Danny move Sanheim, with a $6.25 million cap hit until the cows come home, next. Of course Fletcher is to thank for that one as well.

Philadelphia is not a destination for free agents. This organization has sucked for the past 13 years. In the past 13 seasons, they have only made the playoffs four times and gotten eliminated in the first round three of the seasons. Nobody cares about the history at this point because it is ancient history.
