Wrist Snaps are by far my favorite way to snap people down to the mat. If they don't go down, I use em to get to double legs. ADCC Chicago Open - Laster vs Hill 76kg

My fourth and final match at the ADCC Chicago Open 2024. Made a costly mistake of staying behind my opponent while he was turtled...bad wrestling habit. Ended up getting heel hooked because of it. Back to the drawing board to correct bad habits like that! I went 2-2 and took 4th place in the advanced division. *Email List (Unsubscribe Anytime)* 📌 The Laster Frontier Newsletter www.jordanlaster....

My first ADCC match ever and I end up getting heel hooked 😭. Leg locks are my achilles heel at the moment (pun intended), but I took a lot away from this match - don't hang out behind your opponent from standing! They can roll into your legs and look for heel hooks. A full breakdown of my ADCC experience is coming soon! I went 2-2 and took 4th place in the advanced division. *Email List (Unsubs...

9 Minute Warm Up Routine for Wrestling & Jiujitsu
Переглядів 662 місяці тому
This is my favorite way to warm up for wrestling/jiujitsu competition and practice without a partner. It's an easy way to get your body ready for all sorts of positions you'll end up in. You can tweak it to make it work better for you. If you don't warm up before competition or practice, I HIGHLY recommend you start. It's proven to reduce rate of injury and will help you get nerves out. *Timest...
10 Minute Cardio Workout with Jump Rope & Burpees
Переглядів 692 місяці тому
This has been my favorite cardio workout when I'm short on time. It's 10 minutes of jumping rope with burpees. Every time you mess up you do a burpee. But here's the catch. You do one additional burpee each time you mess up - If you mess up once, you do one burpee - The next time you mess up, it's two burpees. Then 3 burpees. - All the way up to 10. - Do 10 twice and then back down. If you don't...

This is a 20 minute routine I do every week to strengthen my lower body in different ranges of motion. I do 1-3 rounds depending on how I feel. We do this same routine during mobility class at Theory Jiujitsu Studio. Wrestling & jiujitsu is a lot easier when your body feels strong everywhere. GET TO IT! Low Risk Takedowns Without Hitting Your Knees
wow, ur good!
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Looks like a good move to have on your skillset!
Thanks Brad. It definitely is!
Saw adam satiev hit something like this but like he floated and both of their legs came off the ground 😂
that sounds about right haha. He's a beast!
Max Schneider vibes
Hope that's a good thing lol
Voice sounds like a 5/10 but the musculature is a 9/10
Is this a dog show? lol
at 1:09 would you consider bending your knee and lowering even further to make him break the grip himself in order to stop himself from face planting and then circling out to the front headlock?
Yep, great call out. You absolutely can do that. Sometimes you'll get stingy opponents who hold on and wrap their arm around the ankle to help brace their fall. Wrestlers will almost always hold on and do this. I can make a video to cover this if you'd like!
@@Jordan-Laster I'd love that
@JB-j8v adding it to my list!
Thank you, very good details
Glad it was helpful!
Omg just get to the point
I'll split it up for you next time :)
Excellent! I love watching actual credentialed high level wrestlers who do BJJ spit truth on takedowns. Too many guard players masquerading as wrestling coaches 😂
haha I'm happy of help!
Damn guy on top didn’t really give much. Definitely need to call stalling for not being offensive. But good match nice guard.
I disagree but he did have a nice guard!
🔥🔥🔥
thank you!
Solid Win
Thanks brotha
Great instructions. It looks like they’re training in a bank after hours tho lol.
haha spot on
Dance like no one is looking lol. Im going to try this. ty
Haha we also call it the Stance Dance

I think ive reffed matches of yours in grappling industries. Good shit bro 💪🏿
Oh yeah you definitely have. Thank you brotha! Hope to see you at another event
Thank you
No problem. Let me know if I can help you with anything else
Appreciate it. Been trying to modify my takedown game after my acl repair. I simple clinch that I could branch into body lock takedowns and a single leg
No problem. I'll have more on getting to body locks specifically soon
Looking forward to that
Such an incredible video, super helpful for someone looking to learn wrestling and get ideas. Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words. Let me know if I can help you with anything else
@@Jordan-Laster will you be doing any more takedowns from the back content, again in theme of no going to the knees? I saw you did a short one already (also very helpful!)
@conan3366 yep, I definitely will! Adding it to my near-term list. Thank you for asking!
Love this! Looking forward to trying some of this
awesome! let me know if I can help you with anything else
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho
thank you!
Great video , however if you could come closer to the camera it would be easier to hear and see the technique better!
Thank you for the feedback. Will make sure I do that next time
you can zoom on youtube just fyi
I LOVE this routine. Ever since I started doing some of these exercises after training a few times a week, my sore knee has been feeling a lot better. I recently resumed hard rolling again and I've noticed a lot less pain, if any at all! I believe these exercises have definitely helped in that arena. Thanks so much, Jordan! :)
My guy! Thank you for the kind words. Let's keep it going
Thank you 👏
Happy to help!
This is the best and most simplest explanation of this take down, i have ever come across. This makes perfect sense now, thank you
You're too kind! I'm glad it helped. Let me know if there's anything else you need a video on
great work!
thank you!
Nice video 👍
thank you!
Why don't more people talk about this??
Honestly not sure. It'll be talked about a lot more as the influx of wrestlers to jiujitsu continues to trend higher
Wonderful demonstration & lessons!! Wish I had this 55 years ago!!! Thank you for sharing!!👍👍👍👍👍!!!!!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you found this valuable. I have a more in-depth course on this stuff coming out this week! Also, that is awesome that you've been grappling for so long!
This match was in 2017. My senior year and last chance to all-american. Jordan Laster vs Cole Mendenhall in the consis of the DI NCAA tourney. We were both good and close to all-american, but fell short. Going from good to great is tough 😅
Useful, thanks

great video bro. also really liked your low risk video, even though I knew a lot of the moves, but I want to see more of that stuff from high level wrestlers. Often times when I see people come from a high level wrestling background, they show techniques that of course work at a very high level, but it's often that very "wrestler style" stuff, you know, very low to the ground, seems like high risk and stuff. Im just not that comfortable with the low to the ground stuff and risking having someone's weight on me if I fail the shot, even though I know how to peak out, drag out etc. etc., I'd just rather avoid it. Sorry for ranting.
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. I'm focused on teaching more of that stuff right now to my jiujitsu friends so I'll definitely share more here
