I grew up near Talladega and have been to Little River Canyon. The northern half of Alabama is absolutely beautiful. Bankhead, to the west, is also gorgeous country but Im not sure about the 4wd trails.

Always planning on trips with my dad… Some pan out and some don’t. Need to make more of them happen with my dad and family….

Well said man. I have had some health issues the past couple years that held me back obviously trying to get healthy. Unfortunately along the way I have developed anxiety and that's my new obstacle to get through. The sudden sense of mortality has forced me to what you said....finding things that add value to my life.

Now that I have the set up, I can’t wait to get out in the FAT! Planning some pretty awesome trips for fall/winter 2024-2025!

Awesome Video! Just got done watching the full series because I got a group looking to do something through Georgia and this popped up on my search. Looks like a good mix of scenic driving with a little technical. Would it be fair to say a Stock 4x4 Wrangler\4Runner could make it through ok? Trying to give my guys an idea of what we would be getting into. Again...Great video and thanks for sharing

Just a FYI, the trail is only one way from the summit down. However, the way to run it is up towards the summit from the south as you did. It’s really tricky to pass in some of those areas, but it is allowed. We had a Cherokee slice to KO2s and had to limp him down against the flow of traffic (ended up going bad as he eventually snapped a tie rod).

I had no idea you could rent a jeep like that...with a tent too! I have a gladiator and I want to take it out there but the drive from PA to CO is so loooong. This seems like a nice option

Great video buddy. Man I can’t tell you how much I love Colorado been up there multiple times now and just can’t get enough.

We rented that exact Jeep from Peak Overland along with the Bronco they offer on a couples trip from Denver to the Tetons and was a great experience. We always said when we get back out there we will be using them for our rental again!

Man great video. I just bought a 4Runner to have fun and enjoy things like that. Mad respect for cleaning up other peoples trash and keeping the park clean. From panhandle of Florida and that power line trail looks crazy steep to me.

I live nearby and have driven that road "Sky line drive" 600-1 FOR 30+ years. Thats the best camp site on the trail since they put a gate going up to the fire tower.

I have a Hipcamp site a couple of miles from Stoney Lonesome. Love to get more Overlanders in or group stays to ride Stoney.

Can you share a map of this route?
