Wow, what Tom was saying at 2:47 is E'ffing incredible then as to now - I suspect it's always been like this, since day one, after seeing this!!!
After their Thanksgiving 1968 show, my dad banned their show from our home.
I was only about seven during their "heydays," but I always saw it at a friend's house because his parents were younger, more progressive, and "hip/mod" than mine.
So young
So fredh,
R.I.P Tommy I loved your show.
They made me the sarcastic, wise cracking, dry sense of humor smartass, I am today, my dad,(42 years old at the time) thought they were hilarious too. It wasn't just the kids and teenagers, he was pissed off just like Tommy was when CBS fired them
ICONS we praise and salute you ❤🙏🎶🎵
You can find out who is in "charge " by who you are not allowed to criticize. Military industrial complex. Same now as it was when they were fired !
Does CBS at long last admit and apologise for cancelling the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour!?
The Smothers Brothers changed comedy for so many comics and my generation. It's amazing what they went through, seems relevant even today. Compared to todays comics, what was the fuss about? Thank you!
God took him first so I guess he loved him best…
RIP Tom Smothers.
RIP Tom Smothers...and...Thank You! For everything!
Here because of Charles Border. Thanks Prof, truly!
Jim Gaffigan...dont read this Jim....Jim G is the top dog in my list. Absolutely the best
Okay now time to get serious this is about comedy!
As a kid I loved watching and laughing with these talented muso clowns. And they're still around! 👍
With what’s been going on these past 6yrs, We need them back, even if it’s just a 1 night special.
They were fantastic then and now. Great comedy and mucks with a message.
Their show was indeed funny. But spare me the "victim" card please! "They told the truth". Yes, their truth. They pushed a one-sided political agenda. A leftist one. For the record after they were fired by CBS they got a show on ABC (at that time ABC was trailing CBS and NBC so needed any potential show they could get). The show tanked because by then their one-sided act had worn thin and audiences had tired of it. Contrast that to Rowen and Martin's Laugh-In. That show lasted about 5 years because their political jabs were not nearly as mean-spirited and one-sided. Tom and Dick sound a lot like Dan Rather, also fired by CBS for pushing a phony story on W. Bush in 2004. Even today he also tells anyone who'll listen "We told the truth".
i’ve seen stuff about him in the museum
Lmao do you think they take the stuff about them out if they know a comedian is visiting? To see how they react. I'd do that.
If they were active today Trumpism wouldn’t have a chance.
They were the best 👌
For the first time Tommy finally looks older than his brother.
The Smothers Brothers are national treasures. They make me so proud!
Andrew Cuomo ! Thanks for helping build it ! Credit where credit is due !
Love it. ... why does not have more views ! Outstanding . Love this.
I can't believe there are so few views for this video. They were great and I'm glad to see they are still around. My whole family used to watch them regularly. Really happy to see this!
My sisters were several years older than I, and fans of theirs. They bought almost all the albums, so of course I heard all the comedy they were putting out, then the show came on, and we all watched it. I'm so glad these guys are still with us, and were able to be inducted into the NCC, a well deserved honor. ♥
Same - I was young, but remember them, too.
All time greats… bottom line. Absolutely genius.
The ruthless composer undeniably box because washer intuitively bow beside a recondite structure. jumpy, calm single
Blame it on the Conservatives, Southerners and Midwesterners because they were the ones complaining to CBS about the Smothers Brothers.
Bull mess. My conservative family never did that and they always loved the show! I grew up watching them and guess what- stereotype boy- I'm a conservative too. My kids will love the Smothers Brothers too. Just like a dang lib to pass the blame on us. Lol Typical that's all y'all ever do....same game, different day.
EffenD.... you have no idea what you're talking about... you have exposed yourself as the idiot you are.😱🤔
2DoRight... I agree with you, this moron probably voted for the other moron TREASONOUS BIDEN ,the biggest embarrassment this country has had in my 70yrs.✝️🙏🇺🇸
For all of you out there who want to exercise your 'right to free speech'.....remember your right 'to remain silent, because anything you say can be used AGAINST you in a court of law'.................AMEN!
I hope Bobby Lee is in this museum!
John! <3
How different would the US be if we never went to war with Nam?
interesting question.
Now we focus on their political integrity but they were the very best comedians too !
Oy, WayTooMuch Soul for Somthers Brothermon!
Such a fantastic team. I'm still mad at LBJ for getting them fired.
Though Nixon was in office for 60+ days when they got fired. Still, that effort was and remains in vein as Vietnam forever hangs on old Lyndon's legacy as much as Nixon w/ Watergate, Reagan and Reaganomics, Clinton, etc.
J Edgar Hoover probably had a file on them, to be sure! And people get uptight about the FBI today, jeesh....I digress....
“ We’re still here” was the truth of our nation and that was controversial at that time!
Our household loved the Smothers Brothers.
I love the Smothers Brothers and hope they're still doing well. They sure look fantastic here!
True icons!
i love john mulaney
don’t we all
hard same, get in line lol!
Standing 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏!!!!!!
I loved the Smothers Brothers and their show. I watched this thinking how old they look. Then I look in the mirror and think, oh yeh that's why. 🕰✌
Sure they're older, but don't you think they look great for their ages? Very fit and healthy looking.
@@janetclaireSays Yes and they look better than I do, lol.
✌️ back at you!!!
I love these guys and even though they have aged they look great and remain sharp. The political power has shifted since the 1960's, but warmongering, lying, censorship, cronyism, lack of consideration for the "little people," and persecution of those who don't "think right" remain. I can't wait until the new generation of Smother's Brothers comes into full maturity. I think they will likely develop on platforms like UA-cam if they are allowed. Genius in process: No screaming, no fires, no destruction, just gentle funny truth spoken to the heart of America.
Yeah, I miss the "gentle funny truth" of Mark Twain, Will Rogers, Bob Newhart. I don't see that around now.
I think they were the ONE and ONLYS. No new generation. We were soooo lucky to have had them as long as we did!!
@@elisabethvalade9866 They were total originals. I miss them, too.
still relevant today. These guys are timeless
Loved them back then and love and appreciate them even more today. ❤️❤️
We NEED MORE LAUGHTER...😔
