Can you recommend a good LLC service to help me start?
@@johndingmansr.5895 legalzoom is actually not bad as long as you don't fall for all of the extra add-ons.
@johndingmansr.5895 Thanks for watching. I'll have more videos soon. Just had a back surgery a couple of months ago.
Go Wings!!!
This video was very informative and helpful. Thank you!
Great video. Serious laser envy but we have to crawl before we can walk. Looking to customize car and motorcycle parts. Huge market here in Southern California. Might have to pick your brain down the road. Like, a human asking questions, not like a zombie. 🧟♂️ 😂
Great video🎉
Thank you for your video. Does the fiber and Diode laser do the same thing?
Fiber lasers are more versatile and can engrave a broader range of materials, especially harder substances like metals. Diode lasers are more limited to softer materials and are less effective with metals unless they are coated or treated specifically for laser engraving. Diode lasers are less expensive and are typically used for hobby laser projects.
Thanks Ben! Respect to you for learning and developing all of this in your business.
Luke is a he?
I just met you at the Artesian fair in South bend.Great advise.
jz wondering is the software easy to used for beginners?
Those fiber lasers are YAG lasers, which is the same type of laser used for surgery inside your eyes. For outside your eyes or on the surface, CO2 are used like for PRK or LASIK. Unfortunately there is no way to do home eye surgeries at this time lol
Great video. I’ve had my 50 watt Omtech for a year now and have been making things for my family and friends. I’ve done wood, glass and tumblers although with limited success. At what point did you take the leap to set up camp in a rented space and when did you say “I’m ready” to actually get your stuff out there and to have the confidence to actually charge for what you create. I’m my own worse critic and that coupled with me asking people if they would pay for this stuff and feeling like they just say YES because they think they need to. Need some honest feedback.
You don’t pay the plumber for banging on the pipe. You pay him for knowing where to bang - and for not flooding your house while he’s at it! 😂
Great information Ben.
Thanks! I enjoyed this vid immensely!
Hi Ben, I’m from the land down under 🇦🇺 I’ve just had my first laser arrive it’s a diode laser so I can learn. I’m in the hobby stage and I have been gearing up with tools to create a business 😊 enjoying your videos!
So i actually learned laser engraving because we have a machine at work. Just bought an OmTech co2 laser and will be setting it up at home.
Ben, I really enjoyed your videos. Are you going to make anymore?
Hi Brian, I'm definitely working on them and creating a Facebook group specifically to help all of our subscribers. We have grown a lot and looking forward to showing our progress. Thanks for following our journey.
HI Benjamin, can you explain why you used a different fiber laser machine on the gun part project and not on the Trotec since you have the trotec speedy 360 which also has the CO2 & Fiber laser. AlsoI would like to know which brand is the small Fiber machine doyou have and which you recommend. Thank you
Congratulations on your business venture! I'm glad to see you're in Indiana because right now I'm in Michigan. I got my first 75 watt LMI in 1987 that was a single head belt driven table. It took up the size of a two car garage. LMI was produced in Somerset Wisconsin that laser was 145k. In 1990 I won the bid for Weatherby firearms LaserMark. It pretty much paid for my machine. In 94 with the earthquake that happened at Northridge in California I could not bring that beast with me and none of my help wanted to relocate to Michigan. Weatherby still uses my design they have since bought their own laser and move to Atascadero California. I can tell you some good stories and some horror stories my biggest concern is people don't know what they're doing and walk away these machines need to be supervised at all times! I have a different laser at the moment but I have had it for almost 3 years and have yet to unbox it. I will see if I can throw you some business from here I would rather delegate then do it myself! Thank you for sharing! And yes I hit the like button and I subscribed!
Good info. I'd add that 1. Get your EIN (Employee ID number) free from the IRS 2. Get set up as an LLC in your state. In MN it's $150 or so. You can always change from to another form of incorporation If you don't have these, then it's not a business, it's a hobby. And hobby expenses are not tax deductible. And once you've done this, you'll find that you're VERY popular with the agency in your state that collects sales tax. VERY popular.
No mention of Diode Lasers? Otherwise good video
Or UV...
What is the name of the laser machine you use and how much does it cost? I would love to have a two in one machine (fibre and CO2)
Its a Trotec 360 Flexx
I just watched this "How To Laser Engrave Cups And Mugs" by @laserengraving911 and the answer for the egg shape is just a bit of math. This link is time-stamped to the portion of the video where he goes over the secret sauce for no more egg shapes. ua-cam.com/video/1pMuabnJl3w/v-deo.html
To prevent the circle looking egg shaped. try stretching the image horizontally by about 10% and then try. In reality it is not egg shaped, it is just an optical illusion. Try it out, hopefully it helps.
Thanks Steve we will give it a try.
There’s a huge gem in here that I overlooked almost a year ago when I saw this video before. Start designing BEFORE you get equipment and start your business. Learning Adobe Illustrator is probably the most difficult thing you have to do. Don’t waste your time on Inkscape like I did.
How do you feel about Lightburn?
I am happy to be your 1000th subscriber. Hope you succeed in your this venture as well. as I have my laser business in uk as well wish me luck as well. your tips were really helpful.
Thank you, Mudassar UI Hassan! I will be putting out a new video next week
Great video 💯 I didn't know that you could copy a direct like to a review.
what lazer machines are you using? without saying to much I am currently talking with AP Lazers. is there something out there less costly that is good quality?
Hi Perry, We use Trotec, but AP is also highly rated and versitle with their rollaway bed. Your machine will pay for itself as long as you are comitted to growing your business.
Yea the roll away bed is one of the biggest attractions for me and also the weight of the 1812 making it easily for mobility.
That fiber laser isn’t a trotec.
Dude - Wear your safety glasses! You're supposed to be setting an example for best practices as well as business practices. That said - good example of an end-to-end commission process.
You are correct, I should have been wearing the proper eye protection.
Awesome video! So awesome I just realized i watched it twice all the way through. I bought my Fiber laser a few months ago (50w jpt) found that it can engrave a lot of materials so its pretty versatile. My website is almost finished (selling mostly gift-related items and small items at first) Right now i'm going to be launching my site with around 50 products. Do you think that's enough to start out with?
It sounds like you are ahead of the game! Thank you for supporting the channel. Im hoping to have more videos out soon. Message me on instagram. Id love to hear more about your business @Genesis_laser
Very informative videos
Thanks for sharing
Is it possible to start an engraving business using an XTool 20 Watt laser?
The Xtool is a versitle laser, however you will quickly find yourself looking for more power and speed.
Loving your content. I just got a 60 watt omtech and am setting things up.
Please share more about engraving metal bank cards
Hi. Great presentation. What fiber laser are you using or would recommend?
I've watched a lot of laser diode and fiber vids. I have a Laser Pecker 3 on the way. IMO it's a great way to start. All metals, stone, plastic, NOT wood or glass. Depending on how business goes I will probably get an xtool 20 or 40w for wood, glass etc.
A simple solution for them not to see how quick its made, is not to allow the customer in the back of the shop, cause you don't have safety glasses for them to wear. They don't go in the back, and they know you care about their safety. I believe they call this a win-win.
1:42 - What's the make/model of that slick looking laptop next to the fiber engraver?
How do you set up accurate pricing?
What are 1st things I need to know to start a successful laser buisness
really great content. im looking for a RTIC supplier in canada but i cant find any. if you can help that will be great. please and thankyou
Very informative videos, researching lasers, retire in 3 years and want to have a "work in the garage" business established by then, thanks
Woah bro, Very solid info! Thank you!
I want to say thank you very much for that awesome video. That helps me a lot.Great infos and value as well.I am a new subcriber. I just started with laser engraving with a diode laser and found out very quickly that my laser is to weak for the staff i want to do.So i going to upgrade whenever possible to a CO2 Laser with 80 or 100watt.But it should be also a laser what will fit inside my house because winters are very cold in canada where i live and garage is out of the question. That is for cars plus it would be first investment in heating and isolation before i could use this for myself. But yes the design makes me a lot of fun.Problem only is i have barely time for that because of my trucking job.but i will get there hopefully and will learn to create my own designs. So BEFORE you buy a laser think and read a lot. That will same you time and money in the future for sure. Little tip. Engraving is good with Diode lasers but Cutting any material you need POWER and Diode lasers are not that powerful.Yes they can cut but with a lot of more time than any other laser plus it looks much better with Co2 or fiber laser for metals. Yes they are pricy but definitly worth just find the right for you.It all depends on what you want do with this laser.
What is the model of your fiber machine? If you had to do it again, would you buy the same machine again?
Would love to hear more about pricing and marketing

Great videos, I watched the whole collection lol I really do appreciate the knowledge but knowing you have a hopefully thriving laser buisness in your area, and also you have 4 videos posted for said business, are making videos valuable at all to your brand? The videos you have are well edited and very easy to watch on top of being insightful to my exact conundrums in the business. I guess my question is do you think making videos is worth the time to grow and shape your business, especially on a local level? I think your doing awesome work and I really do hope the market has treated you well, as in I hope the market hasn't buried you alive lol
Hi John, Thanks for watching our videos. We have a lot more on the way. We have more videos on Instagram and Facebook. I do think showing your work is important. But the most important thing is reviews from your customers.
7:45 that's true.
My dream tools. Laser cutting, laser engraving, cnc etc. Tapi kendala modal modal dan modal 😮💨
